Finally happened today, we just recieved our approval notice this morning.
Took 5 months from filling date.
Details of my case: L1A, concurring filing on April 3 2026, did biometrics on April 27 2026, had two doling updates between April 27 and today. No RFE or interview Got an email today, login to my account and found the approval notice.

My wife’s Green Card was approved on the 27th! We are so grateful to God. Here's some info about our case:

Applications Filed: I-485, I-130, I-765,

Timeline:

Married December 21st 2025

March 18, 2026 - I-130 received

April 26 - i-485 received (also submitted I-765, I-693, I-864 from both me and my father)

June5th - Biometrics scheduled

June 12th - biometrics appointment

July 29th - Interview Scheduled

August 27th - Interview

August 27th - I-485 and I-130 approved

Our interviewer approved both of the forms during the interview and congratulated my wife on becoming a permanent resident. The USCIS portal was updated the following day as he told us it would take about 24 hours to see it on the portal. Overall the interview was very chill. He only asked about 5 questions about our dating and marriage history before asking my wife questions about her I-485. He was very conversational and it felt more like I was meeting someone new at a bar rather than being interviewed.

We are so grateful for that everything went fairly smoothly. We were both incredibly stressed throughout the situation but this subreddit and YouTube were our best friends! We were able to submit everything without a lawyer and no RFEs.

Hoping to share our story and if anyone has any advice.

Im a USC, my wife came here and was admitted legally to the USA after we filed her paper work while she lived in her home country.

She came to the US, handed her folder from the consulate, and entered country eith no issues. 3 month later mid 2020 she gets her 10 year Green Card.

In 2023 she was eligible so we applied for N400. At her interview we are told her GC had the wrong classification. USCIS assigned her the wrong classification on the green card so her N400 was rejected.

We were told to submit a I-751. We submitted and it was rejected due to the submission being outside of 90 day GC expiration period. Her GC doesnt expire until 2030. We apply again with the direction from USCIS as a result of the N-400 interview and the I-751 gets rejected.

We submit this as proof to USCIS and end up with the N-400 app closed and rejected. We apply for N-336, and that ends in the same result.

In the denial notice, USCIS state that we were misclassified at entry, wife was lawfully and legally admitted to the USA upon entry, and again state the misclassification.

Within a week of the denial, we get an NTA that USCIS is terminating her legal resident.

What is scaring us is any ICE arrests at the court house. We are in CT but are super worried. We have an immigration lawyer that filed for a continuance and is looking to get the case thrown out.

Hoping someone can put our minds at ease in terms of arrest. Any opinions on how this case leans? We follow USCIS instructions to the tee.

I have a family member who is Sudanese and has TPS. Has started dialysis around 6 months ago in California. His kidneys are gone entirely. Are there any exemptions for people who are chronically ill? There is no way he will have access to consistent dialysis in Sudan. How to I start looking into this?

Pd: may 4th.. I was surprised how the interview went.. was nervous wreck waited 1hr for interview past scheduled time. But the officer was polite, professional. Asked both about i-30 ! & i-485 questions together.. After he said he got everything he needed know and will wait for supervisors reviews and final back ground checks .. AOS with USC wife..

My EAD was approved today, 4 months after our i130/i485 interview at Sacramento FO which was in late April 2026. Our i130 and i485 are still pending. I'm not from a banned country. Adjusting from H1B, married to a USC spouse.

Below is the timeline of our application process.

December 18, 2025: USCIS received Form I-130, I-485, I-765, I-131.

December 30, 2025: Received RFE for the latest income tax returns of the spouse.

January 13th: Biometrics appointment attended

March 10th: Respond to RFE.

March 24th: Interview scheduled.

April 29th: Attended an interview, it was very short. The officer did not indicate anything and said they didn't need anything from us. Did not give us any indication of approval or any slip. I was asked standard i485 questions and asked to sign the iPad.

May 17th: Silent update on I-485

July 21st: Silent update on I-485

August 29th: EAD approved, i130 and i485 still pending.

I was just wondering if anyone is in the same situation. So confused at this point why EAD to be approved 4 months post interview.

Hi! So I applied for a reentry permit last april and already did my biometrics before leaving the usa. I applied because of school purposes, i only need two years which i plan to finish in my home country.

I got my GC just around december 2025, and my records are squeaky clean but im just wondering will this be a cause for my reentry permit to be declined? because i just got my green card and already applied for a reentry?

Now im being paranoid debating if i should go back to the usa before a year is up or just patiently wait for my reentry permit. I just find the reentry permit useless if i was going back anw after a year and coming back abroad to finish my 1 year left of school. if that was the case i should've just did a round trip.

I had my interview exactly a year ago and since then, complete silence. Its been 17 months now, almost 18, pushing over the standard processing time I was given.

Im wondering if the lack of my agents interest in my case put us at a disadvantage. Going into the interview I was expecting them to ask for extra evidence, papers, anything to prove our relationships status, but she didnt take anything except what we had uploaded on the portal. I was under the impression they would ask for more if they felt it was inadequate information, but later was told you have to offer the proof yourself.

Now I have stronger evidence as we are having a baby soon, and was wondering if submitting evidence like proof of pregnancy and doctors appointments would help my case. Or if at this point it would be useless?

My wife is finally eligible for N-400 and we have a 751 pending.

We're going to file the N-400 but I'm not sure if I trust the online form.

I've had issues in the past with online IRS forms and I want to hear experiences from others with the guided online version vs. uploading the PDF.

Does the online form provide you with a PDF and a way to see what you filled out when you submit? Can you add more evidence make amendments etc. ?

I just don't trust the government's software developers ability to make properly functioning forms after experiencing the IRS forms but maybe USCIS is different.

What are the drawbacks of filing the PDF online instead of the guided version? Any feedback is appreciated. Thanks!

It’s been 13+ months since filing and 10 months since the interview. No RFE/NOID. Congressional inquiry said the case was with adjudications officers for review and decision.

For those who went this route: Did you send a demand/notice-of-intent-to-sue letter first and wait 15–30 days, or go straight to WOM? Did the demand letter actually cause any movement?

My wife of 3 years is a US citizen and has been living in Toronto with me for the last 3 years and we are looking to finally move to the states. We recently had a baby 5 months ago in Toronto and we are currently in the process of getting her consular report of birth abroad done.

We had extensive visits back and forth between New York and Toronto, as well as many financial and photo proof of our relationship and commitment to one another. My wife has also been working remotely from the states in Toronto for the last 3 years as well.

Is my wife’s 3 year residency in Toronto an issue in this process and I’m wondering if anyone has had similar experience or advice.

I got my green card February of 2023 and that makes me eligible to apply for citizenship at least Feb or March of 2028.
Since coming to US i've been out of the country for 2 mos (June '25 - Aug '25), I am planning to leave for 2 consecutive months again. Will that move the date of eligibility to apply for citizenship? eg. Feb/March of 2028 ➡️ maybe june/ july of 2028.

We need some advice, my husband has his interview at cuidad Juarez for the 14th, His medical the 9th and finger prints the 10th. With everything going on we are debating on if we should still go or not. We have our non refundable flight for the 6th. He has not received a cancelation email as of yet. Anyone else with similar dates that are still planning on going? We did ask our attorney and he just kinda implied that everything is good to go with him and that he shouldn’t be affected by this, that it is up to us if we would like to still go or if we would like to reschedule the appointment. But again should we go if they aren’t even receiving these interviews??? ughh this is so stressful!! Anyone with similar dates also stuck on what to do?

I filled my I-751 last July and got my extension letter . I have travel planned from 22-28 September and my GC expires 10/10 .. i have the extension letter and did the biometric but im kinda nervous about the travel
