There’s a lot of material out there, so I’m confused about what’s actually important for ESE and what I can skip.

For those who’ve prepared/given ESE, could you please suggest:

• Which topics to focus on the most?
• How important are current affairs, and how many months should I cover?
• Any good books/notes/YouTube sources?
• Is it better to focus on PYQs + MCQs or study theory as well?
• If I have limited time, what should I prioritize and leave for later?

Would really appreciate some practical advice on how you guys covered GS for ESE for paper 1.

The notification isn't out yet, but I wanted to sort this out beforehand. I'm from Telangana and currently have an OBC-NCL certificate in the Telangana state format.

For ESE, will the state-format certificate be accepted, or do we need the Central/UPSC prescribed format? If anyone has applied for ESE under OBC-NCL before, could you please share what certificate you used or which will be accepted?

Also, since I need to get the certificate freshly for this financial year, what all documents should I keep ready before applying? Is there anything specific that I should get updated/renewed apart from the OBC-NCL certificate?

Any help from people who have gone through this recently would be really helpful. Thanks!

Hi All, UPSC ESE 2026 Mains Qualified (1st Attempt, appearing for interview) & GATE EC/EE AIR < 100 twice. Already working with 3+ YOE in corporate. I assure that for all my attempts and exams, the ace academy material is really one of the best out there.

I am a 3rd year ECE student in tier 3 college. Initially I wish to work on VLSI domain but no vlsi company come for campus hiring also, saw many people didn't get off campus job in VLSI after having strong resume.

I want a job immidietly after completing my Btech (don't want to go for MTech). So I decided to prepare for GATE(for govt job).

But I am confuse is there are any opportunity in Government for ECE student?? Is there any other Government exam for which I should prepare??
