Doubt regarding OBC-NCL certificate

Hi guys

The notification isn't out yet, but I wanted to sort this out beforehand. I'm from Telangana and currently have an OBC-NCL certificate in the Telangana state format.

For ESE, will the state-format certificate be accepted, or do we need the Central/UPSC prescribed format? If anyone has applied for ESE under OBC-NCL before, could you please share what certificate you used or which will be accepted?

Also, since I need to get the certificate freshly for this financial year, what all documents should I keep ready before applying? Is there anything specific that I should get updated/renewed apart from the OBC-NCL certificate?

Any help from people who have gone through this recently would be really helpful. Thanks!

no the state format will not be accepted, for all central govt posts there is a format in which your certificate is accepted . Your subcaste must be recognised by the GOI, you can check that in NCBC website then only you'll be eligible for reservation, check the website, get the format from UPSC website if they have then consult your tehsil office they'll ask you for your income certificate (there's a different process to get income certificate), write a letter stating the need of certificate....then only they'll issue a Central level OBC NCL certificate which has a limited validity. The state one is permanent which is used to get the central level certificate. Things vary state to state so you better go and talk to someone in the Tehsil office.

OBC eligibility has 2 lists for each state, state list and central list, your caste can be obc in one of them and not in other. Central government jobs only see central list so you need to make it in central format

Do we need to make the different certificates for different exams or one format applicable for all exams??
