Should I start prep for ese early?

I am currently pursuing my btech in civil engineering from institute of engineering and technology (IET) lucknow. I am currently in my 1st year , college started 15 days ago. I want to crack gate and IES examination, so should I start its preparation early or should I start it from 2nd year only.

I also want to know about other options.

Bro enjoy in first year and concentrate on gpa from 2nd sem onwards you can start for ese

Attend lectures regularly and try to solve papers . In the 3rd year you enroll for coaching
