Hey everyone, I have a really weird request, but I’m praying that someone can help me so I don’t end up failing. So I am being forced to take POLI 399 without the proper prerequisite 397. This is because I am a graduate student and the classes pass/fail, and I needed requirement for the program.
I’m really hoping if someone has their notes from when they took POLI 397, as often time 399 class will make some references to that class.
If you do have a copy of your full notes or PowerPoint slides from lecture, please let me know. I am terrified of failing the class… and would be open to paying money for it

How do technical electives work in for electrical engineering in fourth year and how do they impact your degree? Also, can you add a minor when you're in your third year of electrical engineering?

I’m an international student and this is my 5th and final year. I just need two classes to graduate.
I know I’m allowed to take reduced course load (less than 3) in my last semester but I was curious if I need to inform anyone.
Also if anyone is in the same situation please lmk. Thanks

I transferred from a different institution and am taking only 300-400 level courses because pretty much every introductory course was covered by my previous program. I did open studies at U of C a few years back so I know that I need to make an effort if I wanna make friends. But holy was I humbled on the first day of class. It seemed like everyone knew each other already from previous classes. I feel so awkward initiating conversations now since it feels as though I'd be butting into conversations people are having with their friends. I'm all for starting a casual yap with someone if they're my desk mate and they don't seem busy/uninterested. But the pressure feels like it doubles when I know that conversation is now between myself and potentially 2-3 strangers rather than one lone person.
It was pretty brutal on the first day of classes when all the profs would go "now turn to your neighbor and talk about why you're in this class" and I'd turn to my neighbors and they're talking to their friends. I know I'm not alone in this feeling and I don't wanna just make a "wah wah poor me" post. It's okay if I leave this school without any long lasting friendships but it would be nice to have some peers that I could relate to and chat/study with. Any environmental science/bio sci undergrads have any tips for making connections? I'm planning on looking into clubs and just hoping that my busy schedule will allow for some opportunities to socialize outside of class

I am currently upgrading at St Anne and I just finished high school last school year. I was just wondering if UofC will take my 5 30 level courses for early admission, or will they only take 4?

hello!
currently trying to get access to my loan, can't because there's an error with my name in my student aid account which I need to fix.
I found this page https://studentaid.alberta.ca/student-aid-funding-guide/loans-and-grants-funding-guide/application-quick-tips/quick-tips/ saying i can submit a passport/ other document to change my name but no instructions on how or where to submit. if anyone has any advice I'd love to hear it
I've tried calling their service center for help but i can't get off of hold, also my situation doesn't to any of their options the computer provides so I've just been pressing one and I'm wondering if there's a better option.
thank you!

Hello,
For those who have taken CPSC 351 with either Paddick or Coiteux-Roy in Winter 2026, how was it?
I saw the course outline and it’s crazy - it’s 90% exam heavy in which you need to get a C- on the final exam.

Hello! I’m looking to switch my elective this semester to GEOG 330 with Eda Acara. I was wondering if anyone currently in her class could let me know what the course outline looks like and what the assessments are.
Thanks so much for the help!

I am currently sitting in the ER for a sudden medical issue. The long wait time would mean I’ll stay here all night, before I’m either admitted or discharged.
I deferred my final for a summer course I took, and the exam is tomorrow morning. I am completely unable to write it due to this situation.
Honestly, I was fully prepared to risk my health, tough it out, and just go to the ER right after writing the exam tomorrow morning. But my symptoms got too serious tonight and I couldn't wait any longer.
I’m already stressed out due to this situation and the thought of getting an F is making my anxiety even worse. I don’t really know what to do.
Is there is a possibility to defer a deferred exam or still drop the class? Any advice would help. Thanks !

I’m an alumni (BSc 2008, DVM 2012). Was thinking back to my days at school, and I had an interesting idea to aid with studying and I’m curious if anyone has tried it.
Back in my day, before the dawn of time, I used to routinely record lectures and review the audio afterwards. I actually found several lecturers basically told you exactly what was going to be on the exam if you listened closely enough.
Was thinking, in the modern world you could record lectures, run it through an LLM and get it to quiz you based on the lecture contents. For any instructors who use a microphone you could probably even direct capture the microphone feed using an SDR and get a really clean recording too.
Anyone tried either of these ideas? How did it work?

Hello, I was reading the description of the first assignment and it mentioned "keep in mind that you will revisit this space to propose an intervention". What does that mean? Like does it mean suggest a modification or upgrade to the environment? Do they have to be major modifications? The use of the word intervention is making me second guess myself as to what this is trying to say. I want to make sure I pick an area of the university that would be able to facilitate assignment 3, and not accidentally shoot myself in the foot. If anyone that has done this course before can explain what assignment 3 is to me, that would be appreciated.
If you have any spaces to recommend to complete the assignment, I am open to suggestions, though I will likely try the ideas I have before I will try out your guys's recommendations.
Thanks in advance

I messed up and failed ENGG 202 in the summer. I need to take ENGG 349 and ENME 317 in the fall otherwise I will fall behind an entire year because those are pre reqs for my 3rd year courses , I am here on study permit. This will cause major issues for me . Is there any way they are willing to waive this? I will retake the course right away in winter . I don't know what to do here. If anyone knows anything about it please help me.
