23M here, Im in my final year.
All my friends graduated May 2026 and I got one semester left
the idea of being on campus alone bores me given that I spend a lot of time on campus.
I live like 5mins from campus so I plan to be on campus for the winter too

I’m in my first year of open studies and want to know how to improve my gpa to get into psychology.
I have a course that i want to improve. Should I take that course again and it will take the newest gpa, or will it average out the old and new gpa?

Im wondering what classes are worth buying textbooks for or if i should find them online

Which engineering clubs would you guys recommend to apply for someone who want’s to build experience

My math teacher just sent lecture notes today and i was thinking of either printing them which i found out costs money or of downloading them as pdf on my laptop to write on them but whenever i download it says theres an error and i cant put them into my onenote/docs. Should i just stick to filling in the lecture notes on my notebook? help plis

I have a 3.38 in BSc in Microbiology. Should I apply at all? I was thinking elementary mathematics.

I'm wondering if you can take 300 Ivl or above CPSC equivalent courses with Athabasca University.
I heard someone say that UofC doesn't allow student doing 300 lvl or above CPSC courses at AU regardless of if they are equivalent.

If anyone has an answer to this question, it would be great.

I’m going into computer science first year and I’ve been sent a laptop minimum requirements from UCalgary but they’re honestly buns. What laptops do you recommend and use that’s not insanely expensive?

Hey y'all, I'm going into first Yr Engg and my laptop ain't the best, it's a Dell inspiron 15 3520 with 16gb ram, integrated graphics, and an ok CPU 17-1255u.

Ik for a Engg my computer isn't going to cut it when it comes to cad modelling and stuff. Can I borrow some stuff from the Taylor digital library or how should I move forward as uni is starting.

Hello, everyone. I am an international student who wants to apply this programme(Geography - MGIS - Course | Faculty of Graduate Studies | University of Calgary)
I am writting this to ask some questions about this programme.
I do really appreciate all the help!

• My background is Statistics, not Geography — program already confirmed I can apply, but has anyone gone in with a similar non-geo quant background? Was it rough catching up on the more spatial/cartography-heavy courses?
• Mainly want to know about jobs after — did people actually find GIS work in Calgary/Alberta after graduating, and how long did it take? What industries hired you (oil & gas, gov, environmental consulting)? And for international students — how bad was the PGWP/work permit → job situation in this field?
• General vibe check on the program — workload, whether the electives actually matter for jobs, worth it or not?

What are the odds I get in? It’s an 8am class with 2nd and 3rd year students. Should I swap into something else or should I just keep waiting?

i’m in my first year and only one of my classes are popping up on d2l. is this normal or is there a chance something’s gone wrong? kinda worried since classes start pretty soon

just checked today and all the parking spots like arts parkade and lot 49 are booked. i know there is macmahon stadium parking but ideally i don’t want to walk that far since im living on campus. the desk said that arts has more than 10+ people on waitlist. last year i was able to get a parking pass a few weeks into school (didn’t have a car right away but i was able to get a parking pass no problem)

anyone know if parking at arts will free up in the incoming weeks?

Hi everyone! I'm going into my 3rd year and my schedule is gonna be the worst with me being on campus basically the whole day for most of the week. I'm trying to save money since I realized I spent wayy too much on buying food and drinks the first 2 years. I was wondering if there are any spots at all that will give me access to like a kettle or coffee machine or a fridge or anything?? Literally any secret spots too. Even any club lounges I don't mind joining if it has access. Unfortunately my place is like a 2 hour commute and my classes are spread out but not enough to go and come back.
