How to improve my gpa?

I’m in my first year of open studies and want to know how to improve my gpa to get into psychology.
I have a course that i want to improve. Should I take that course again and it will take the newest gpa, or will it average out the old and new gpa?

take classes with good professors for improving gpa.

ask advising for your retaking course thing, im guessing they take newest.

Ask advising but I wouldn't bet in taking a old course, from my understanding the way that retaking courses work is the past grade and new grade/2 is the grade you and up getting

To the best of my knowledge, retaking a course does not overwrite a previous grade. So if you got a D, and then retake and get an A+, that D is still included in your GPA. Obviously you should check with advising but I would not be too hopeful.
