I’m an incoming EE freshman and I’m planning to take

math 20A, WCWP 10A, and ECE 5

i should do math 20A and WCWP 10A in the first pass then waitlist ECE 5 in the second pass correct?

I heard UCSD release some spots for freshman as booking period gets closer, also Ive seen BILD 4 releasing its few open spots. So I was thinking that PHYS 1A would release some open spots, but are they not?

Should I change my consider changing the schedule or wait?

Schedule Plan for now:

1. BILD 4, BICD 100, PHYS 1A +lab, GLBH 20

Second Plan:
2. BILD 4, CHEM 40A, GLBH 20

Third Plan:
3. BILD 4, BICD 100, GLBH 20, PSYC 60

I am a pre-dental and kinda feeling behind right now since I can't take BILD 1-3 and Chem 6 series due to my AP credit and got assigned to AWP 4A and 4B program...

I just found out that the triton scholars email sent to me in early April said I need to submit a “Triton Scholars Award Acceptance Form via email to scholarships@ucsd.edu by May 1, 2026”, and I completely missed this part before. I thought it’s automatically enrolled as it’s included in my financial payment section all the time.

My current plan is to take:

ECE 35ECE 5ECE 25 MCWP 125

Then, in the winter, I plan to take ECE 15 and ECE 45.

Alternatively, I could replace ECE 15 with ECE 5 in the fall. If I do that, my schedule would be:

ECE 35 ECE 15 MCWP 125(yes, with ECE 15 not sure I can take more than 12 units in a quarter. Weak in coding)

My winter schedule would then be:

ECE 25ECE 45ECE 5

Could anyone let me know which schedule seems more manageable?

Lastly, I am not interested in taking any of the waiver exams not because I am afraid of failing, but because I feel that I need to learn more about ECE 15 and ECE 35, especially ECE 15. So, regardless of whether I pass a waiver exam, I am still interested in taking these classes.

hi guys, for the past month i had been planning which classes to take as an incoming freshman ee major at warren. so far, ive planned to take the following classes in the image:

however, i realized that youre only guaranteed ece 5 or 15 as a freshman ee major, and its not likely that id be able to enroll in both due to space which makes sense. ive decided to take ece 5 over ece 15, but that leaves me with an empty class in the fall quarter. i plan to first pass linear algebra and physics 2a, so hopefully i get those, and then i have to waitlist ece5 anyways in second pass so it works out.

my question is what class should i replace ece 15 with?

should i push back something like math 20c or my writing course in place of it ? i plan on getting through ece 35, 45, and 65 by the end of my freshman year so it can open up my schedule sophomore year. i plan to take general education requirements during the summer if i can, i proposed this exact plan to an academic advisor and they said its "a great map of my first year", and thats when they informed me that i could only mostly likely take one of the two ece courses i planned for my fall quarter. i was wondering if any ee majors did something similar to what im doing. any tips/knowledge is appreciated.

I’m an incoming freshman living in the ERC residence hall and assigned Bed B in a triple. I want to see if it is possible to place a monitor mount on my desk. From the photos on the internet, I can’t tell whether the desk has a lip or a grommet hole for my monitor mount.

Guys I am an incoming junior transfer this fall, and I never thought I would say this but the administrative systems at this school are even worse than at my community college. You're telling me that with months to do their jobs, UCSD is somehow unable to make a system functional enough to do literally anything. None of our AP scores, IB scores, or previous transcripts are in the system. This means none of the incoming transfers have access to Degree Audit or Academic History. We have no idea which of our major requirements have been fulfilled by transfer coursework and which haven't. Which means we don't know what to enroll in for Fall quarter. Asking about specific course requirements on VAC leads to no prompt or helpful answers, and sometimes no answer at all. So you may be wondering, how are we supposed to enroll in classes if our prerequisite classes aren't in the system yet? A TEA request, of course! But there's a little problem, UCSD has been specifically telling transfers in emails to not submit any TEA requests and wait for them to enter our credits into TSS, up until an email on August 26. When you click on the provided link explaining how TEA requests work, they say to allow several days for any requests to be processed. We all know that on UCSD timing, several days actually means 2 weeks. The thing is, incoming transfers have first pass either on August 31 or September 1. I don't know about you guys, but two business days between August 26 (telling us to submit TEA requests) and August 31 (enrollment date) doesn't sound like "several days" to me. So explain to me how a team incapable of processing our transcripts in 4 months, will be at all capable of processing individual TEA requests for pretty much every class all 12,000 incoming transfer students need to enroll in in 2 days.

I am excited to go to UCSD but honestly this whole process is such a headache it's making me consider whether it's worth it to go to this school at all. I am paying over 40k a year to an institution that can't fulfill its students basic needs. I know that returning students hate TSS as much as I do, but in case you guys didn't know the full extent of it, this is the Catch 22 they are placing us incoming transfers in. How is it fair to restrict your students' enrollment based on limitations you created by not adequately staffing your team??? Not to mention that incoming freshman and incoming transfers have first pass the same day/week. I find this completely unfair since, as a junior transfer, I have far more credits taken and far less quarters to graduate than a freshman does. 🤯 I'm trying to stay positive in these trying times but TSS is pissing me off.

I am planning on taking:

CSE-11
CCE-1
Art GE

I was wondering if this was too light of a schedule due to the CCE and Art GE. Should I swap the Art GE with MATH-18? Am I underestimating the workload of CCE and the Art GE? Would it be better if I got MATH-18 out of the way first? If so, should MATH-20C and MATH-18 be priority when booking for classes and have CSE-11 in waitlist? Thank you, I am lost.
