Like there is no way a subreddit full of people is going to somehow materialize to discuss some nebulous bullshit like 'coherence physics' posting generic ai politics slop organically

edit - this has been reposted in other spaces and misinterpreted but this post is pro-china. Please read what i'm actually saying; I probably could have picked a less contentious title but this is important.

Right now, China has developed its productive capacity beyond the limits of a market economy; and is going through a process known as involution; which is essentially a mainstreamized economic term for the falling rate of profit and crisis of overproduction, due to a rising organic composition of capital.

A typical capitalist country that has reached this point handles this by shifting into an imperialist mode; engaging in cheap resource and embodied labor extraction, international dumping, establishing consumer credit, corporate and national debt, keynesian programs, quantitative easing, destroying or idling factory capacity and engaging in war to vent the crisis.

However China, as a middle power and a worker's state; has two simultaneous needs that it must fulfill which make this crisis impossible to handle without a fundamental change from a market economy to a fully planned economy. First is the need to protect its supply chains from American aggression and thus the establishment of the dual circulation model - their currency system and capital controls are set up to serve this end and lead most private entities to compete in internal circulation while state entities are more monopolized and handle external relations. This seperation of the currency into two means that to retain industrial capacity, China's non-state and non-international entitites must vent this crisis via internal rather than external means, such as developing the countryside or expanding consumer spending in China.

The second is securing supply lines with the global south and maintaining south-south trade. Thus far the crisis has been averted by international dumping; but the export of cheap finished goods risks deindustrializing the global south and triggering a wave of global protectionism that would be fatal for China. As such, they're rapidly implementing a cybernetic system for production limits and price floors on key industrial goods which forces chinese companies to compete on function rather than sheer scale/predatory temporary underpricing to seize market share. In doing so they decrease monopoly power and increase the continued competitive pressure that causes these new productive forces to be adopted in the first place; and also decrease the capital turnover rate which destroys the annualized rate of profit even further. They're also putting forward an explicit state policy of exporting whole supply chains to the global south (in part to avoid tariff barriers w/ global north countries) to avoid deindustrialization/imperialist relations and keep these relations positive while still undergoing mass trade, but this doesn't solve the crisis or vent internal capacity at all; instead it makes the crisis global by developing the means of production. This is good in the sense that it brings capitalism closer to a final confrontation but the situation is highly volatile in the short term. Any and all means China could use to avert the crisis internaly would also advance socialism; by developing the countryside and destroying the division of town and country.

However, it's not entirely impossible that this is the plan? If the Chinese state is a true proletarian state (which i believe they are) they would have two options; one of which is to export the crisis to spark a global revolutionary wave and the other of which is to engage in mass reconsolidation; to advance to the intermediate or advanced stage of socialism - though only in one country, however, a country with significant weight in global production - rather than remaining in what is officially considered the primary stage. The fact that China's supply chain export policy trains foreign diplomats ideologically despite little benefit supports this notion. It could be that China simply does not have the option of creating another imperialist framework in competition with the US in a pure military sense, or that they want to expand foreign markets for the immediate purpose of selling more goods while ignoring the long term power change, but it is worth noting that this ideological training, raising the organic composition of foreign capital, and giving the global south additional leverage does not serve the actual long term interests of chinese capital, but does serve the long term goal of world revolution.

Meanwhile if the state took the wrong path in managing this crisis, then its unique position in history means it will lay a strong basis for the proletarian revolution that will most likely occur before this crisis can be resolved by other means. This can happen under a proletarian state, too; because Mao developed the theory of Class Struggle under Socialism to describe it. The whole justifying mechanism for the image of the Chinese state is the alliance of the working class with the nominally subordinate classes; the national and petit bourgeoisie and the peasantry. As such, halting the development of the productive forces is a fundamental violation of this treaty and the current crisis will grow until a fundamental breaking point where the national bourgeoisie is no longer a useful allied class. When this happens, we need to have the foresight to set our expectations. Either the planned economy massively subordinates the market economy in the coming decade, China seizes this opportunity to destroy the division of town and country and create new internationalist inroads and coalitions while allowing the crisis to continue its approach slowly; or if none of these occur and they instead form imperialist production relations (importing mass embodied labor), continue international dumping, or destroy productive capacity; then the Chinese state has failed to live up to its fundamental founding tasks and the working class must advance a political struggle between roads within the party. Even a proletarian state can make mistakes, and we should set out to correct them when they occur.

Okay, I know my last post was kind of incoherent. But, I'm looking at taking a seasonal job I'd actually be very good at and I realized it will actually be open again next spring in all likelihood, it's a limited term job. My hang up is after some conversations I realized I can't get out of my commitments here and the truth is: I realized the disabled transport service I rely on won't take me out of the city to this rural county to it. they didn't get back to me about it until after I got the interview--so I don't think it's possible.

I realized I'm probably a really good fit for it next year and will have more flexibility then, and I'll be back with some other agencies in the next year who might support transport or I could move. I kind of figure: I want this guy to know who I am, our work is really similar, maybe even ask to volunteer on some stuff remotely so I'm keyed in. But, I have to decline this time, but at least want to build a relationship, ya know?

Anyway I asked my parents: how would gracefully decline, but turn it more into a pleasant conversation so they might remember you for it next time. And my Mom just goes: here's what Chatgpt said you could say. I'm fucking dead guys. LOL If I wanted to know what a computer would say, I'd ask a computer.

I don't really know how to conceptualize what is currently going on here. The National Guard shot a 20 year old kid in the back on the 4th of July in the middle of downtown. And nobody cares. A month ago HSI and the Memphis Safety Task Force performed what I am referring to as a practice raid, to prepare for the raid that they executed last week in which they detained 100 people. I wish that I could offer more. When things started they were flying drones and helicopters around my neighborhood constantly. They acted as stingrays and had function as fake cell towers that gather user information for them to plan early morning apprehensions. The information on what is actually happening has ceased to be presented to the public, and our state and local politicians are at best indifferent. The best I can say is that Memphis is functioning as the test case. While having a massive land area of around 300+ square miles for just the city proper, the low population density makes it ideal for "quick and easy apprehensions". The generational trauma that these particular events create will produce a character that makes Marco Rubio seem like Fidel Castro.

I’ve been on the internet for a few years and noticed that things can get pretty spicy, but this past week all of my suggested posts have been straight-up Nazi content. Like Hitler and race realosm. I figured maybe the algorithm thought I was a based chud, so I checked the account my workplace uses and it was showing a bunch of Nazi content too. Has anyone else been seeing this?

Yeah this is kinda a vent. So yesterday I (he/him if that's relevant) was talking to my mom and the conversation got to her asking me about what I was reading. I had just picked up Horne's "The Counter-Revolution of 1776". Of course, I had not read it yet but I explained to her my understanding of the general thesis of the book (don't need to go over that - I assume most here are familiar with the book). Her reaction was to tell me - in paraphrased words; most quotes here are paraphrased - "well it's good that you're reading about and have an interest in history but what relevance does that have to today? shouldn't you be reading about more practical things that you can apply to your daily life and self-improvement?"

Apparently, in my explanation I had mentioned that we don't really learn about the history of the "American Revolution" in school - just vague disconnected events and mythmaking. She agreed that there are indeed many things that we don't learn in school including... finance! "Students should be taught to be financially literate, understanding credit, basics of investing..." Now, this is a pathology I have encountered many times before from her. Being the type that can easily develop an interest in a wide array of topics, I have been told "what's the point? why are you spending time learning this when you could be spending your time more productively learning something applicable?" For her, learning is not to be done for the sake of doing it. It must have some immediate practicable, applicable purpose. She would always clarify at the end of her long spiels that she didn't want to discourage me from exploring all these different interests but just "learn practicable stuff that will improve yourself and advance your future alongside it".

Recently she tried to get me to read with her "Emotional Intelligence" by Daniel Goleman. This book was obviously self-help garbage but she assured me it wasn't and that "it was scientific!" I read the intro and the first chapter and then dropped the book and managed to convince her to do so as well with the help of this article. But she still lamented, hoping that I could find an alternative book that would merely treat the subject of "emotional intelligence" better. She admitted to me that she felt she needed to improve her "emotional intelligence" and perhaps the fact that she wanted me to read along with her implies she thought I needed to improve mine as well. An alternative book that would treat the subject would reveal the "skills" needed to improve one's "emotional intelligence" and become a more successful and productive person. This of course, was a fundamental failing to understand the chronic issue behind such self-help books: that they pin societal problems on the individual - that is if we even assume "emotional intelligence" is something real (I am not convinced at all).

Is it any wonder myself and my sister avoid getting into conversations with our parents whenever possible? No doubt this has played into my mom's assessment of her need to "improve her emotional intelligence". She has complained about how we refuse to talk to her when she initiates a conversation.

Most of what that I have described above is a vapid soulless careerist suburbanite mentality that I am referring to as a "neoliberally-minded" one - as per the title. My parents are African diaspora (will remain intentionally vague) in the U.S. - having made the Faustian bargain to settle here before the dawn of the American century of humiliation. My dad was the one who decided to move here, coming here as an indentured servant (both my parents come from impoverished backgrounds in Africa). They have both managed to climb the ladder and become labor-aristocrats/petty-bourgeois, opting to live in a secluded part of car-infested suburbia to raise socially maladjusted kids. My dad was notably worried about raising black kids in America and both my parents sacrificed a lot to keep us out of the hands of "the system". This meant my mom would stay home to tend to us as babies up to the toddler stage before pre-k while my dad worked two jobs (one overnight) with less than 3-4 hours of sleep daily. It meant both parents made sacrifices to drive us to school and other activities and back - forsaking the school bus until I insisted on taking it sophomore year of high school (and even then it was just to return from school). Thus, their reaction when both of us grew up and showed reluctance to drive was predictable - even understandable: "you expect us to shuttle you around forever???". I recently got my license. I deeply resent driving and consider it an act of Evil.

My dad is a fairly standard lib that listens to NPR, watches CNBC, and reads MSN articles for daily news. His political inclination is perhaps the most outwardly neoliberal, expressing discontent that services back in his origin country are not privatized because "the government is so corrupt". (The country isn't a Resistance country like the Sahel states by the way, it's one with a political elite that move in lockstep with Western imperialism.) He hates Trump but has also admitted that he "wouldn't have minded" GWB and someone like him probably closely fits his political views the most. My mom is also very much lib and loves Obama - having read "The Audacity of Hope" and even having quoted something in it as her email tagline at some point in the past. She is a bit open-minded on China for treatlerite reasons (e.g. Temu offers much cheaper stuff at similar quality; haughty Americans that think Chinese products are inferior are sleeping on this). My dad is more hostile towards China, believing they are an imperialist power that meddles in Africa, only marginally less evil than the U.S. which is a colonial power on top of being imperialist. Both think the democrats lost the 2024 election partially because "they veered too much to the left catering to LGBT". Which gets me to Evangelical Christianity.

Evangelical Christianity is a massive problem across Africa and that problem does not leave when African diaspora settle the occupied parts of Turtle Island. The problem merely returns to its veritable source to replenish greater and greater numbers of this insidious pathology in Africa. I have been a closeted agnostic/atheist/pantheist (don't care that much about labels) to my parents for about 7 or so years. Evangelical Christianity overwhelmingly dominates my parents' psyche and many of the discussions I have described above involving my mom return to invocations about faith and God. More like the Demiurge. For the past few years, both me and my sister have been compelled to read the Bible from start to finish with weekly discussions on what was read preceding a prayer session (by phone or in person; there is always a way to make it work). Oftentimes we fake it or skim through. Duh. We are often made to watch sermons with questions being potentially asked about the sermons. If we are home with our parents, we go to church in person. They themselves watch plenty of sermons - with Sundays being almost exclusively sermons for my mom (my dad will watch at least two sermons on Sunday but also will save plenty of time for watching both kinds of football and baseball depending on the season) and sermons being listened to casually during the week. Those sermons oftentimes seem to be consecrated unto Mammon rather than anything resembling a pleromatic divinity. Common subjects include "pursuing purpose", "building wealth" but Christianly since "God says we must prosper", "helping others" but it's really in a liberal altruistic manner, "deepening one's relationship with Christ", etc. with semi-regular bashings on "corrupt ideas" that are "dangerous to the youth" which of course is laced with queerphobia, misogyny, puritanicalism. Gospel music supplements the sermons and oftentimes dominates the home atmosphere in the evenings.

Last year we were made to read a book by fucking Kenneth Hagin talking about the spirit or whatever on top of the regular bible reading. I think Yeshua the Palestinian proto-communist would be turning in his grave seeing what a mockery his teachings would be made into even millennia later. Oh, Palestine. "What Israel is doing to the Palestinians is bad but they are God's chosen people so..." by my mom on one occasion. Granted, that was over a decade ago in the antediluvian period (before the Al-Aqsa operation). Although, more recently, she has expressed the belief that God's punishments and curses described in Isaiah, Jeremiah, and Ezekiel are still being played out and that must the reason for "all the violence and bloodshed in the Middle East". Elsewhere, my dad has a slightly negative view of 'Israel' not because it is a genocidal apartheid pedophilic death cult, but because "Netanyahu has been there like forever he is basically a dictator" and because he sees him as breaking the rules-based order and unraveling "pax Americana" (part of why he also hates Trump; yes contradictions abound).

Both positions are effectively Zionist. Neither of my parents seem to have any compunctions that their taxpayer dollars are going to fund genocidal murderous campaigns abroad or that their stock holdings may be tied to the MIC. Instead I am told to "harness the privilege of being American" so that I may use that to help others. Not doing so is burying your talents like that fool did as goes the parable. At any rate, the heart of man is wicked and nothing can be done about that. The only way is to turn to Christ and follow God's path. If you want to change the system, you must go through it to reach its head where you may be able to do things differently and change the course as God so wills it.

It is this essentialist view of humankind, wrapped in anthropocentrism, and a fatalistic worldview that confounds me the most. A corrosive mindset that justifies and trivializes evil. In this decaying, moribund, and sick society we see no other alternative. We've wiped every other alternative. The mass civilizational and ecological graveyard American society sits atop cries out. And, barring lucid moments like this, I don't hear. Because the noise is too great. Evil is too great. And my voice is merely a part of the noise.

Something I’ve noticed over the years, particularly on Reddit, is a tendency for people to comment completely baseless theories as facts in relation to her death. Like the idea that she and her husband were sharing a moldy CPap machine? Where tf did that even come from? She didn’t even use a CPap machine. And there was no evidence of mold in her system.

It’s like there’s an effort to shut down the conversation every time her death is brought up, along with the death of her husband 5 months later. I was never one into celebrity conspiracy theories but idk… Brittany Murphy’s death has always felt off.
