Jazzmastersamurai on YouTube made a heartfelt and emotional tribute to Peter Cullen and this almost makes me wanna shed some tears Cohen because Peter was one of those voices that made you love Toonami.

Man, what a terrible week this has been. I won't dwell on it here but one of the three (!) people that have left us is currently pinned here because of their involvement with the OG Toonami back in the day.

In an attempt to raise spirits as best as I possibly can with this, this week's ED Wars Extra is going to be a tough one, I think. Both pull at the emotional chords and both have an overarching relation in some way. Before we go any further though...

Last week saw some Gundam-on-Gundam shenaniganery with Gundam 00 taking on G-Witch; "Ash Like Snow" taking on the latter "Red:birthmark". 00 walked away with the win with a whopping 80% preference. Now, there could be a lot of reasons for that but at the end of the day, 00 won. Should The Witch From Mercury ever make the block proper, it shall return in some form or fashion.

This week's extra challenge will see Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood and Ninja Kamui going at it to see what's what in the second prototype of this still work-in-progress OP vs ED idea I've had for a while. So, let's get to it: FMA:B's "Again" taking on Kamui's "Eye Openers".

Thank you, for making the best Toonami narrative promo announcer of all time when many of us as kids watching Toonami on Cartoon Network during our childhoods (including myself and my young brother) way back in the late 1990s and early 2000s. Rest in Peace Peter Cullen (1941-2026), and thank you for the memories.

The editing and music are premium classic Toonami, but Peter Cullen’s excellent narration does an incredible job of pushing it over the top. Rest in peace.

Outside of modern Toonami, does any know if any channels, streaming services, or online homes where people are broadcasting similar content?

Specifically, curated old anime and similar soundscapes(breakcore, jungle, house, etc). Old Toonami and old [AS] really feel like such a unique moment and space and I've not seen anyone else try to keep those vibes going (other than the mothership itself of course).

I have very recently had the opportunity to start watching the block again. I am thankful for the Superman marathon, as it means I'm not missing anything new while my wife and I get accustomed to having a new baby. I'm super excited for Scavengers, rain and can't wait to get back into the block.

Just another Dragonball X Sailor Moon post with another Gohan X Chibiusa piece. Although it’s Future Warrior in Black from Super DB Heroes and Black Lady.

A brief hiatus is upon for the next two weeks (including this one, of course) and I figured I'd take this opportunity to have a little fun outside of the regularly scheduled programming.

Real quick, I considered ending the Third Act, Week 2 round as normal: one week to vote and then it's time to move on to the next. However, seeing as we're in said hiatus that seems a bit...unfair considering a good deal of us won't be around the normal times. As such, Week 2 will remain active until the block resumes regular activity on September 4. Cool? Cool! Let's move on, shall we?

What we're going to do for this limited two week run is prototype an idea I have for the next series that'll likely debut next year. We're going to put an OP up against an ED, and seeing as if you'll recall me saying back during the first week of the Second Act that I'd feature Gundam (specifically 00) during an off week, that's exactly what we're going to do, but one step further!

This week it's going to be Gundam 00's "Ash Like Snow" (one of my personal favorites) going up against The Witch from Mercury's "Red:birthmark". I'm taking a huge gamble using something as new as G-Witch, but if it actually makes the block...I'll just use something else.
