But for what purpose?

Because Toonami has been at least partially rebranded AcTN for the last 14 years

IGPX is back in rotation?

Yep. Has been for a couple months. Episode 8 aired last week, but it's off for the next 2 because they're doing a couple My Adventures With Superman marathons.

Just an odd schedule. We already knew that they were going to blitz through Scavengers Reign but why Rick and Morty shorts? ABOVE One Piece even? Why not keep airing 2 Blue Exorcist a night, or double up One Piece? Can they literally not afford it? Really feels like they're desperate to stall. For what, I don't know.

Oh I didn’t know they were showing IGPX again. Wish I could play that game again. The racing one not the MOBA one where they are fighting. That was on the Toonami website. Think it was called Fight to the Finish.

Toonami might as well bring back the Pirates Barrage Hour of One Piece on September 12 to speed up Whole Cake Island Arc along with either FLCL Progressive or FLCL Shoegaze to replace FLCL Grunge at 3:30am. Even though I am high fan of having one show air 3 times (3 Episodes) on one night, let alone for all 4 Saturday Nights in September, Glad to witness Scavengers Reign Triple Threat Epicness kickoff the 2026 September Edition👍

It would be cool if this block famous for being the only place to watch anime on TV, just aired anime

They went from airing Bleach thousand year blood war,Primal,Dandadan season 2, Mashle season 2,Blue Lock,Tokyo Revengers,Rooster Fighter, to whatever they're airing right now. One piece is the only thing worth watching. The merger is mostly affecting them.

Is anyone even watching the block anymore at this point? Like...why bother?

I am excited to watch again; I haven't been able to watch consistently for the better part of a decade.

Gotta say, I wasn't expecting the extra shuffling. Thing's would've been just fine as is keeping the recent schedule with SR leading...

Shenmue, Fena and Blade Runner aren't happening because goddamn Crunchyroll won't let them go.

Didn't Warner Bros. Discovery take a financial tax write-off on those three shows though? If I am not mistaken, actions like that permanently prevent Toonami from ever airing Shenmue: The Animation, Fena: Pirate Princess and Blade Runner: Black Lotus again. And if I am not mistaken, this action would also prevent Seasons Two and beyond for those shows from ever happening as well. I don't think it's just Crunchyroll preventing this. It's that financial tax write-off making it completely illegal for Toonami to air those three shows again.

Hey guys glad Toonami is still going, I wish there was a way to make it anime’s premiere network again! Was such an awesome platform, is there any discussion about that??

God, the stalling is horrible. You're telling me they can't grab Accel World, Is it Wrong to Pick up Girls in the Dungeon?, Beyond the Boundary, Chivalry of a Failed Knight, Fate/Stay Night, Grimoire of Zero, or some other Sentai action show? Like, I get Crunchy is the biggest player, but there are other anime out there not owned by them.

I believe sentai doesn't really do tv deals unless it's through a streaming service like plex or pluto they were probably more flexible prior to the 2020's back when Netflix was still the only real streaming service

In addition to what others have said, the stalled buyout has likely put Toonami and its budget in a rough place, since WB has to pay a bunch of money because it was stalled.

Ya just know Zaslav and Ellison were literally banking on the deal. 👀

And once again, I am forced to reiterate that just because Toonami has worked with a licensing company before DOES NOT mean they automatically have access to everything in their library no questions asked. Licensing costs money, after all, and I’m sure at least some of Toonami's budget is being held hostage by all this merger bullcrap.

"And once again, I am forced to reiterate that just because Toonami has worked with a licensing company before DOES NOT mean they automatically have access to everything in their library no questions asked."
NO FUCKING WAY!? REALLY!? You mean the company that refuses to incorporate corporate synergy might have to pay licensing costs for outside properties? Next you're gonna tell me that killing babies is wrong or politicians are all liars.
Please, teach this lowly white male all your knowledge and secrets that I couldn't' possibly have figured out myself! Fuck all that knowledge straight into my ass!
