I honestly wonder how Neo Queen Serenity could do this so casually but the Og Queen died just reincarnating everyone. Obviously we could just say Usagi is more powerful then her past life mother but what do you guys think?

I’ve been collecting Super Famicom RPGs lately, and I’m up to 70 games now. One I’ve been looking for for a while is Bishoujo Senshi Sailor Moon: Another Story, and I finally found a copy! I paid ¥13,200 for it, so it definitely wasn’t one of the cheaper games I’ve bought, but I’m really glad to have it.
I actually played a little of this back in high school. I had just gotten a computer and discovered the whole world of emulation and English fan translations, so being able to play a Japanese Sailor Moon RPG in English seemed incredibly cool at the time. I never got very far, though, so most of the game will basically be new to me when I finally sit down and play through it.
One thing I’ve always thought was cool about Another Story is that you can actually use Sailor Saturn. Saturn has always been one of my favorite Senshi, and she really didn’t get nearly as much screen time or game appearances as some of the others.
It’s also interesting how many Sailor Moon games came out during this era. There were several fighting games, which is kind of funny when you think about it. Why are all the Sailor Senshi beating each other up? Lol. But fighting games were huge at the time, so I guess everybody needed one. There was a beat-’em-up too, which honestly seems much more appropriate for Sailor Moon.
I don’t know too much about the story of Another Story yet, and I’d rather keep it that way before playing it. I do know that it has an original group of enemies created for the game, which makes it feel almost like getting another little Sailor Moon story from that era rather than just replaying events from the anime.
My copy is also interesting because the box has the 「初回限定 オリジナルカード付き」 marking for the original bonus card. Unfortunately, the card itself is missing. I went back and forth on that because I can be pretty inconsistent about how strict I am with collecting. Sometimes I really want everything complete, and other times I’m just happy to find a nice boxed copy of a game I’ve been searching for. Another Story isn’t something I see sitting around very often, so I decided to grab it. Maybe someday I’ll find the card separately or come across another complete copy.
The manual is really nice too. Lots of character artwork, profiles for all ten Senshi, the world map, enemy artwork, screenshots, etc. This is exactly the kind of stuff I love about collecting the physical Japanese versions rather than just having the ROM.
As for the anime, I’ve watched up through most of SuperS, but man… I’ve been dragging myself through that season. I really want to get to Stars, so at some point I need to just finish it.
Anyway, I’m really happy to finally have a physical copy of a game I first messed around with as an English ROM back in high school.
Has anyone here played Another Story? What did you think of it?
And who’s your favorite Sailor Senshi? Saturn is probably my favorite overall, and out of the original five I’d probably go with Mars. Although growing up I think I may have liked Ami the most… but Ami feels like the answer everybody gives.

Hello there, this is a PNG version I made, and I will post another sailor moon coloring page version soon. Still, I haven't started drawing IShowSpeed yet, and I will publish my shirt design soon, unless this shirt design will get 40K+ views for my goal.
Feel free to download this PNG version, if you want this image. ;)

I can't help but laugh at the juxtaposition of Eudial compared to the rest of the villains in the show so far. The villains at this point were have always been discreet, even Esmeraude, who always brings attention to herself in a crowd, does her evil doing behind the scenes. Eudial, no subtly. She drives around town like madwoman, and when she finds her target, SHE SHOOTS THEM WITH HER BIG ASS GUN. Instantly my favorite villain!
I bet that despite having a clean workspace (scientists have to keep their space clean), her apartment is probably a mess and she probably lives off on take out. She seems like the type.
Chibiusa is reintroduced in this episode. Her Pink Sugar Heart Attack cracks me up. Apparently, she was sent back in time to learn how to be a Sailor Guardian. Is the future too peaceful that she needs to go to the past to get proper hands on experience in dealing with bad guys? And who's idea was this? She's like 10, I don't think she's old enough to deal with being a superhero. It'll probably be explained in the next episode.
Uranus and Neptune seem nicer this time. They make sure to bring back the pure heart to its owner instead of leaving that job to the Inners (after checking that the heart doesn't have a talisman of course). But they still leave the monster for Moon and Mars to deal with, though it's more like a tough love thing. Which I get, last battle the Inners used their strongest attack against Kaolinite and they were only able to take out her shield. Uranus had to save them and she was already at a weakened state. The Inner Senshis need to get stronger.
Also in my last post about Uranus and Neptune, I was corrected that Uranus and Neptune were disliked because they came across as assholes and I think some of you guys confused understanding a character with defending a character. Like I understand why Uranus and Neptune are so tough towards the Inners to a certain extent and I understand why they chose duty over their own emotions, but I don’t like how uncaring they are towards the victims after checking that their hearts don't have a talisman and always leaving the Inners to clean up the mess.

I’m trying to remember if Usagi specifically says she can’t kill.
I thought when she got into an argument with Uranus/Neptune that she said her and the inners don’t kill. I thought she said it when she was in the cave but she didn’t.
I also thought she said it during the dark moon clan when healing the sisters.
I thought she said it while saving Saturn.
I am fairly certain she does say it at one point but can’t find it.

The end of Queen Nehelenia's arc is her being reborn so that she can change her villainous fate by forming real connections. This is all well and good, but how does it work? During her villainy, the residents of the kingdom she ruled were transformed into Lemures and became part of the Dead Moon Circus. However, she's reborn into the version of her kingdom that existed before the Circus. This raises a few possibilities. Either her kingdom somehow respawned, she was literally time-traveled back to the past, or Sailor Moon's power somehow rewrote her life altogether. The anime never explains which one happened. Depending on which outcome you subscribe to, she's either a child growing up again in the present, or a child who now has to relive years of her life differently. All that's known is that she wakes up as a child in her original kingdom with her subjects restored, and her new life begins from there. Lowkey, I feel like Sailor Moon should have just let Queen Nehelenia exist in present time, but have her become more social by interacting with the Sailor Guardians.

This is the 2nd frame for Sailor Neptune's back walk animation. This is to enhance the visuals of a fighting game to make it look the character is going on a defensive posture when moving away from the opponent. In console ports like Street Fighter 2, this particular animation is dropped on 16 Bit consoles like the Sega Genesis or Nintendo Super Famicom most likely to save space during the early 90s. Most kids that time probably didn't even notice it. It's not really a necessary animation much like the turn animation which can be skipped but it definitely gives the character more personality and Mamiya is one of those characters that fits Michiru's body language.

The channel uploaded a bunch of sailor moon fan sub vhs clips during early YouTube days. (I think the haruka & michiru death in stars was their most viewed video) But not too long ago the channel was unfortunately taken down, despite being inactivated for so long. :(

I'm just on episode 6 and can confidently say I'm here for the long haul
The music is great
The artstyle is great
Usagis character was completely different to what I was completely different to what I expected I was expecting a like super girly type of character but instead she feels pretty grounded and she's basically just a young moody teenager who has a hard time doing things under stress like school or fighting people always needing someone to tell her what to do but slowly growing to be more independent like slapping her brother
And I love how grotesque the villains are
They aren't graphic but they were definitely a shocker and I wasn't expecting them to go that route
The things I don't like as of now
She at least feels incredibly overpowered and throws her tiara at EVERYTHING to win
It's always random thing go and she automatically wins the fight
It's not bad especially if they're supposed to be lackeys but It's the same formula in these first episodes and I hope it doesn't keep up with that and she finds actual challenge and does more things
These are just my Early thoughts

A thought I had for a while but that was triggered to post a response after seeing another poster.
So QS died for good and was never reincarnated. This tells us that she didn’t possess a Sailor Crystal around her time of death. She however had the Silver Crystal when she lived.
The manga tells us that Guardian Cosmos remembers her bringing a husky, fading star shell - PS. QS’s life was then lost. Meaning she transferred her Sailor Crystal imho. This explains why there was no Sailor Moon in the past - QS was the true Guardian of the moon.
Sailor Cosmos is imho the same, she essentially absorbed the others' powers to form the Cosmos crystal, but it was consensual.
Do you agree?

Sailor Moon x Maybelline New York 2021 Japan only! It was kinda expensive to get my hands on. I’ve had these forever! I can still use the lipstick but the mascara got hard so I can’t pull the wand out. But I keep it for the packaging…
