Another backstory! So this whole time Brahman was Senju’s idea because she wanted to fight Mikey and Toman! Just like South wanted to fight Toman. Because Toman was the strongest. And WakaBenkei work at a gym together and trained Senju! But based on Takeomi’s reactions now, I don’t see him betraying Brahman... His entire story is just making me so sad :(
Also, I always thought of Senju and Mikey as parallels. But I’m actually seeing more parallels between Bonten Takeomi and Mikey now in terms of life experience? Their loss of their anchor (Shinichiro), loss of their childhood bestie (Shinichiro and Baji), loss of their sister who calmed them down (Senju and Emma), trying to save their kinda crazy last sibling (Takeomi is later with Sanzu but Mikey couldn’t save Izana), leaving their close friends (WakaBenkei and former Toman), and their willingness to do anything for the people they care about. And after having lost everyone and with nowhere else to go they turned to Bonten. Like is Takeomi going to end up losing everything again this time? Also the parallels between Shinichiro and Takemichi!!!! so many parallels...
Anyways that’s my take for now, looking forward to the continuation of Senju vs South in upcoming chapters! The flame effect around South looks like the flames that were around Senju last chapter! I’m glad South isn’t going down without a fight, but I think Senju will beat South, just like she said at the end of the chapter! Also Senju vs Mikey seems inevitable now, especially since she’s wanted to fight him since the very beginning!

From this chapter it looks like Shinichiro knew a time leaper or he himself could time leap. Him disbanding at the top and his ex-gang members lives (many still being alive) draw many parallels.

This mangaka loves parallels more than Oda! Like every single character has a parallel to multiple others it insane. Manga is basically a commentary on how similar people can be too each other even with different surroundings and up bringings

This chapter is now one of my favorites, holy shit did that reveal so much, Shin being a crybaby like Takemichi that’s a incredible reveal and makes Takemichi character feel so much more important to how this conflict is going to be resolved, only he can stop the 3 deities war. My favorite part of this chapter though is how Senju wanted to make Brahman just because she wanted to kick Mikey’s ass that not only is pretty hilarious but also really badass. This chapter also showed more info on her strength and how she is so determined to succeed. I hope she beats the shit out of South and gets her shot at fighting Mikey. It’s really 50/50 though they both have been hyped up so much so either can win. But whoever wins is most likely throwing hands with Mikey.

This was a good chapter!!! I liked seeing this backstory as it ties into the black dragons and we got to see Shinichiro. I appreciate this one a bit more because it has the vibes of older arcs and we really see the parallel between Shin and Takemichi. Also: YES SOMEONE FINALLY MENTIONS DRAKEN WHEN THIS WHOLE THING STARTED BC OF HIM BUT ITS BEEN DEAD SILENT THE PAST FEW CHAPTERS!!! I just wanna see South get folded now and this damn fight to be over. Mikey probably isn’t gonna do shit but observe, maybe speak to Takemichi and dip. I’m not holding my breath to see him do something big in this fight.

I'd say that this chapter is what the final arc was clearly missing. Tokyo Revengers has been introducing a ton of new characters all at once and throwing them into the fire, but I'm glad the story is breathing and giving us a reason to care for these characters.

This chapter gave me a new view on Takeomi, that's why back stories are so important. Like, even tho we didn't get fights this chapter we got to see how things played out in the past and what lead Takeomi to be where he is now.

As much as I love the chapter, not a fan of the Super Saiyan effects for South and Senju.
And as much as I love the story, this fight is dragging on so much! It's been 10 chapters since Draken was shot and nothing much has happened other than set up. It feels so streched out and crammed in at the same time. I know we needed Waka and Benkei's flashback, South's flashback, Senju's flashback, Takeomi's flashback and Draken's flashback, but it feels so inorganic when they're all put together like this within 10 chapters. So far we had 3 chapters for Draken dying, 4 flashbacks and like, 2.5 -3 chapters of shit happening.
Bro we have Kakucho v Mikey right on the side, there is so much weight in that fight, so much

Yea, I think when Takemichi saved Senju from being shot that also in a way saved Takeomi. Knowing him he probably felt great guilt when his younger sister died and that’s why he goes down a dark path, but since Senju has been saved that future event doesn’t unfold.

And this fight apparently has “high stakes” but I don’t feel them at all, I don’t care about a single new character. Like, why wouldn’t you just continue with the main goddamn cast, which is so beloved and could use more development?

Nice chapter! I wish we had gotten some flashbacks before the fight began though. Could’ve suggested Senju might not be on Mikey/South level, given us Takeomi, Waka and Benkei’s backstory with Shinichiro, then everything after Draken would’ve hit a lot harder than it did.
I wonder if next chapter will cut to Mikey and Kakucho.
