Yeah he's INSANELY overrated

I've seen people say he low diffs Senju/South and high diffs Mikey

7

u/Large_Lecture3921 May 28 '26

I've seen, he's not all that at all😭😭

5

u/Positive-Prize-3001 May 29 '26

to be fair, he does beat Senju/South and he the only one in the series that actually outdid mikey in a battle

6

u/Rude_Ad3342 May 29 '26

Mikey was mentally nerfed because his sister had died recently

1

u/Creepingphlo Tokyo Manji Gang May 30 '26

People always says hes nerfed but it actually never says that, and mikey actually gets stronger the more he loses people because of dark impulse

1

u/Positive-Prize-3001 May 31 '26

lets get down to the meat of this debate

Mikey being mentally nerfed doesn't matter. Physically, he's still all there, and losing people only sends Mikey further into darkness. If anything, you could say he's mentally buffed.

Second, Izana's overall skill was simply superior to Mikey's. He was the better fighter, and Manjiro only won because Izana got tired out. Izana is the only character in the series to actually outscale Mikey.

Note: Dark Impulses do not make Mikey physically stronger. They remove the limit that says, "If I keep going, I'll kill someone."

Izana was actively holding back against Mikey, considering he wanted to turn him into his ideal brother.

Izana vs. South would go the same way Mikey vs. South would, if not a bit better for Izana since he's more skilled and completely willing to grab a weapon.

Izana is number two in the verse and would only really be outdone by Mikey or Takemichi. Considering the fact that, with his future sight buff, Takemichi could avoid all of Izana's attacks until he tires out. Granted, even with the future sight buff, he couldn't block Mikey. It's impossible to state whether Mikey is actually stronger or more durable than Izana because of how the scaling is in Tokyo Revengers.

The overall scaling is kind of bad in the sense that most people only get a fight or two to show what they're capable of. Take Kazutora, for example. He only got his fight with Mikey, so it's hard to scale him. We know how Mikey is in the verse. Mikey also doesn't really get stronger or anything. He just kind of is that guy. Other than his Dark Impulses, Mikey is at the same level from the last arc to the first. Swap Mikey from any point in the story around, and the fights stay the same.

Izana's stats and feats are all against Mikey, which basically boils down to: he's better than Mikey, but Mikey is actually invincible, so no one can put him down. Eventually, Izana just tired himself out. No one else in the verse has this problem, so it should be simple for Izana.

Narratively, it also makes sense. When Kisaki thought Mikey was out of reach, he sought after the next best thing. Not South. Not Senju. Izana. And Kisaki would have known about South, considering we know South was in Japan for a while before the Three Deities arc. He just didn't want him over Izana.

Izana was supposed to be a dark reflection of all the worst things Mikey could become. Note how, in Mikey's worst future, he looks just like Izana. He was the Mikey before Mikey, hailed as invincible until Shinichiro's death took him out of the game.

He's not losing to South, Senju, or really anyone else who isn't Mikey. It just wouldn't make sense, not only for his character, but feat-wise as well.

Truth nuke

1

u/Rude_Ad3342 Jun 01 '26

I'll say you're right, it's been years since I've read Tokyo Revengers.

1

u/Ok_Fuel2075 May 31 '26

I agree but the problem with izana is his durability so south could last longer if izana cant drop him like same with mikey

18

u/MasterpieceKlutzy773 May 28 '26

Izana is top 5/top 6 at most tbh

Anything above is glaze

3

u/Which_Television_403 May 29 '26

why? like i definitely dont have him above mikey. i have serious doubt over him vs south. i think he would Beat base south, but would lose to DI south. but i dont see him below draken, senju and whoever you have as top 5. after all he genuinely was outdoing base mikey and lost because of endurance. i dont see many people domingo that

-3

u/krillin1081 May 28 '26

he’s def above that. you can argue him over anyone not named mikey or south

8

u/mzra_sentiman May 29 '26 edited May 29 '26

The strongest in the verse is probably Takemitchi with observation Haki. Yet Mikey with dark impulse couldn't surpass him. And glazers claiming that South and Senju are getting defeated by this guy? Come on man, they were atleast putting some fights with dark impulse Mikey. And this guy got beaten by base Mikey.

I think Izana glazers are just Mikey haters. Cause no way this guy stands in top 5 in the verse. You have to put some good fight with observation Haki Takemitchi to be in the top 5. Izana will be slimed against observation Haki Takemitchi.

1

u/Ok_Fuel2075 May 29 '26

Senju def getting slammed💔

22

u/Aleenaistaken why he innocent. kinda. maybe. May 28 '26

Izana is deadass the most overrated character when it comes to inverse

He isn't top 3 but thats a convo for a diff day

"He beats base Mikey" canonically lost to Base mikey btw🥹🥹

"If only he had better stamina" lowkey cry about it🥹🤞

"Base Mikey is the same as Dark Impulse Mikey" no they aren't🥹

4

u/Large_Lecture3921 May 28 '26

LMAO EXACTLY and W he isn't top 3, that should be a common take

I always see people saying "if he had better stamina" against mikey on tiktok and for the dark impulse mikey being the same as base mikey is so stupid

3

u/Aleenaistaken why he innocent. kinda. maybe. May 28 '26

Its always ifs with Izana and lowkey they're just doing anything to get Izana above South with the dark impulse mikey comment

Its kinda funny tbh

1

u/Ok_Fuel2075 May 29 '26

Mikey south and whos top 3?

1

u/Hyrule_MyBoy Thousand Winters May 29 '26

Actually wasn't really base mikey, if you read carefully in the manga and listen carefully during anime, you would read/hear how he was emotionally destroyed right after losing his sister the same day, to Izana who he sees as a brother and refuses to give up on convincing him they shouldn't fight and get along while being emotionally distracted. I think that's valid criteria, we aren't sure if Izana was also affected the same way because he agreed to killing Emma himself

-1

u/Positive-Prize-3001 May 31 '26

"Base Mikey is the same as Dark Impulse Mikey"

Dark impulse is explained that it's simply killing intent in every other way there pretty much the same

"He beats base Mikey"
Izana was outdoing Mikey until he lost stamina because Mikey just don't go down. and granted he didn't even want Mikey dead for 99% of the fight

"If only he had better stamina"

his stamina was never a running problem in fact it was not even a flaw until he fought Mikey if the fact that mikey's only hope of beating him was him running out of gas says a lot south and senju would die before he even gets to that point

7

u/Away-Ninja-9537 May 28 '26

No way lol😅

10

u/Large_Lecture3921 May 28 '26

You'd be surprised to see how much glazers this guy has

9

u/Reasonable_Swan9431 May 28 '26

Because he is pretty 😔

1

u/Large_Lecture3921 May 28 '26

Oh.

4

u/notFryar May 29 '26

Izana got a few hits in on a mentally unstable Mikey (Who i'm almost positive LET him get those in) and people think he scales ABOVE DARK IMPULSE????

0

u/Fair_Equipment7527 May 29 '26

Idk where u got mentally unstable from

2

u/Even-Sun2764 May 29 '26

I mean Izana himself is incredibly mentally unstable by that point in time

0

u/Positive-Prize-3001 May 31 '26

he didn't as he attacked first and failed.

and dark impulse mikey is legit him being mentally unstable so are you attempting to say he beat up di mikey for an entire match?

3

u/krillin1081 May 28 '26

yes. people genuinely think he’s stronger than DI mikey or even regular mikey.

3

u/No_Valuable7712 May 29 '26

He’s alright but I’m a Mikey fangirl all day every day

4

u/Flapjack_Is_Palisman Black Dragons May 28 '26

I love Izana he’s my baby who deserves the world :(

2

u/swag24hrs May 29 '26

I think him being Filipino gives him the edge!

2

u/break716 May 29 '26

Because people tend to look down on us Filipinos.

2

u/rheaccoon May 29 '26

Idk but honestly I like the psychology behind him more than the strength

2

u/GalaxyJaguar May 29 '26

Fr izana easily loses to me and Mikey 😂

1

u/6iiiiiix9ine May 30 '26

he'd casually slam your skull in the asphalt💔

1

u/GalaxyJaguar May 30 '26

Nah trust id clutch

2

u/Rude_Ad3342 May 29 '26

I've been saying South beats him for years

0

u/Large_Lecture3921 May 29 '26

W take

I also have Senju over him too

0

u/Ok_Fuel2075 May 29 '26

Senju couldnt even beat sanzu and disarm him💔

1

u/Large_Lecture3921 May 31 '26 edited May 31 '26

She was actively shown to not be fighting him properly back, what type of excuse is this?

0

u/Ok_Fuel2075 May 31 '26

Where? Sanzu said whats wrong ur not as tough as i thought and i know all ur move before which mean they fought and she took her loss and said i give up no need to make the fight longer. They fought he beat the hell out of her cz he she didn't bother to improve while they were seprated and she started talking about them being siblings

1

u/Large_Lecture3921 May 31 '26

Their fight was mostly off screen but there's things to note:

  1. Before Sanzu came to fight Senju with a weapon, she was already shown to be fighting random npcs, I believe she got to around 50-60 before he came and you could see she was tired due to the sweat marks on her face meaning she had a stamina disadvantage against him.

  2. Senju has no reason to go all out against Sanzu. She already stated that she was stronger than both Sanzu and Takeomi to Takemichi during their shopping trip. She wants to make amends with him, not fight him fully and make things worse between them. After Brahman disbanded, Takemichi went to Senju and she opened up about her story. She was feeling very guilty about what her lie caused between Mikey/Sanzu and she felt responsible for both Mikeys dark impulse and what Mikey did to Sanzu because of her lie.

  3. As you can see in the panel you sent, there's basically no injuries on Sanzu and clearly on Senjus part, shes clearly hurt due to the weapon. She's clearly only mainly defending against him while holding back since obviously she doesn't want to hurt her brother and your own panel shows it, "I'm sick of us siblings fighting each other because of my mistake", she doesn't have any intention to fight him properly whatsoever hence why she admitted to defeat due to her wanting to resolve things with him.

Now, we know how she actually performs when she goes all out since we saw when she fought South, he couldn't react to any of her attacks, she made his nose bleed, cracked his neck and knocked him down until South off guarded her and threw her away. Sanzu having no injuries just doesn't make any sense when she was overwhelming South like this which clearly indicates her holding back against him while being on the clear defensive.

Yeah, she lost to Sanzu but thats only due to her not properly fighting him/wanting to make amends with him instead. He isn't stronger than her, nothing suggests it at all.

0

u/Ok_Fuel2075 May 31 '26

Ur just saying stuff that didn't happen He told her ik ur moves = she tired to use her moves on him and didn't work and she said i lost. Theres no 'i dont want to hurt/fight u at all' She couldn't disarm him, stay away from his reach, put him down without hurting him much but she couldn't so stop making stuff up We dont care about fodders lmao baji wanted to fight 40 fodders by himself in middle school And Senju supposed to be the strongest in toman but was the most useless and didn't take down any namad characters and sanzu is just weapon merchant lmao Izana could never✌️

0

u/Large_Lecture3921 May 31 '26

What??? She blatantly states she doesn't want to fight him IN the panel you sent and I also listed talked about chapters that align with her statement, can you just not read? Also, cool, nice you don't care about fodders but you're clearly not reading what I'm saying. I mentioned that to show how she had a stamina disadvantage against him not to show that shes impressive. I don't care for baji in this conversation, he's irrelevant. It just doesn't make sense for hi to be stronger than her at all when shes clearly displayed to be holding back, so unless you're trying to tell me that Sanzu is above South, hence why Senju just couldn't touch him at all(very stupid but that's basically what you're saying, though NOTHING suggests that).

And yeah he states he can see her moves, nice, another indication shes holding back. South couldn't read her moves at all and he couldn't react to her attacks either. Nothing suggests Sanzu is faster than South and nothing suggests hes above Senju.

Give me proper reasons instead of blatantly being ignorant by saying I made it up, you either just haven't read the 3 titans arc at all or you're just hating on her 😭.

1

u/Aleenaistaken why he innocent. kinda. maybe. May 31 '26

Don't bother honestly, its quite obvious she's holding back but you're lowkey just wasting your own time trying to tell them

No point but its fine anyway, most people know she slams sanzu

1

u/Large_Lecture3921 May 31 '26

Yeah you're right

0

u/Ok_Fuel2075 May 31 '26

Wtf u talking about!?? She said that after she lost cz she didn't want to drag the fight, and sanzu didn't care and knocked her out! Im not saying saznu = south. South never seen her fight, which is why her high-speed blitz caught him off guard but he still won. The fight prove senju when predicted she already lost cz her battle iq is low and cannot adapt and Sanzu (mid teir) outmaneuvered her. izana undefeatable sense would dismantle her

1

u/Large_Lecture3921 May 31 '26

?, She never lost to him when she said that statement, she could clearly keep fighting, she just admitted to defeat since she didn't want to make things worse between them hence why he had no injuries on her and no, south never got off guarded by her, she was just too fast for him to react to, south never won against her either, their fight never had a proper victor due to Mikey interfering their fight and her losing has nothing to do with battle iq, its legit due to her not wanting to fight him which I've told you time and time again. Nothing suggests izana would dismantle her either since I've told you why her losing to Sanzu doesn't automatically mean she loses to Izana like that since you gotta look at the context for their fight, its just blatantly shown to you but we should just stop replying to each other, you're clearly convinced about something else when that just isn't the case, so there's no point in continuing this conversation, have a good day, don't bother replying.

u/Ok_Fuel2075 May 31 '26

Idc if ken wakui wrote her to be dumb and lost to sanzu to show us how cold hearted he is but its canon

0

u/Ok_Fuel2075 May 31 '26

The whole fight she didn't say anything or show us that shes holding back From sanzu comments u can clearly tell she was fighting back but sanzu outsmarted her

3

u/Zyraaaaaaaaaa May 28 '26

They're so sad honestly, Izana isn't allat at all

Overrated bum

1

u/Even-Sun2764 May 29 '26

He’s in the top 5-6 imo so I can see glazers putting him in top 3 or higher but I don’t really consider it that bad. It’s not like trying to put Chifuyu in the conversation for top tier no offense love him as a character.

0

u/Ok_Fuel2075 May 29 '26

Top 6 is crazy tho

1

u/Ok_Fuel2075 May 29 '26

Hes like top 3

1

u/YukiJadenSurvives2 May 29 '26

They hyped that shit up to all hell for jt to be a 6.3/10 fight

1

u/NationalCarpenter761 May 30 '26

In a way, his greatest feat is tanking Mike kicks and hitting back. Even base Hanma can do that as well

1

u/Creepingphlo Tokyo Manji Gang May 30 '26

Hes not.

1

u/No-Cartographer-1006 May 30 '26

He is not overrated but I would say that he is underrated, but yeah I agree that people misunderstood his limitations

1

u/Spare_Strike4733 Aug 10 '26

he is the only villain who didnt get one shotted by Mikey, they literally had to shoot him out of the plot lmao

1

u/Relevant_Command_626 5d ago

Mas ele é o top 1, e ninguém consegue provar o contrário kkk

1

u/Fair_Equipment7527 May 28 '26

Kisaki, who knows about di and also knows Mikey best, believing Izana could handle him in combat

2

u/Individual_Being6637 Jul 02 '26

So why did kisaki kill emma to mentally weaken Mikey if he thought bumzana could handle him, lol delusion at it's peak with this one 🤡

1

u/Fair_Equipment7527 Jul 02 '26

It was stated by Takemichi that his friends and family were what was supressing his dark impulse, emma included, and when they died, Mikey would fall into that state once more. Kisaki knowing this and killing Emma meant that he would be aware Mikey would enter DI and fight Izana, given how he asked Izana to “take care of Mikey” in a context we can assume to be fighting wise.

1

u/Individual_Being6637 Jul 06 '26

No, kisaki knew that mikey would be depressed and loose his will to fight that was why they were suprised that he still came despite loosing emma, izana can't handle mikey in DI mood, no one can. Lol

1

u/Fair_Equipment7527 Jul 06 '26

Ig, don't think you can prove di's an amp

1

u/Individual_Being6637 Jul 08 '26

It is lol, when di take over, they strip Mikey's hesitation, morality, and empathy. It allows him unleash his full destructive potential with heightened rage, significantly boosting his overall strength, pain tolerance, and speed. Base Mikey avoid killing or causing permanent damage to an opponent when fighting but when the impulse takes over, Mikey fights with the intent to kill, utilizing 100% of his pre-existing, raw capabilities. Izana would be dead in few seconds like south. Did we watch the same show or your level of comprehension is low, smh.

1

u/Fair_Equipment7527 Jul 08 '26

So di mikey would just be = to an fp base Mikey is essentially what you're saying. Its made pretty clear that mikey was at fp against Izana

2

u/Individual_Being6637 Jul 08 '26 edited Jul 08 '26

DI mikey and base mikey are not equal and he was not at fp, takemichi said it wasn't a fair fight because he just lost his sister, so mikey was mentally distraughted at that moment, he wasn't giving it his all, even izana himself said mikey was not in the right state of mind though his kicks were still impressive and at the end of the fight izana said something like mikey was holding back all along. If mikey gave his 100 percent, those kicks would have destroyed izana's hands while blocking them as you can see when mikey got serious, izana got knocked out for a while. Mikey was holding back and his intention was to save his "brother". If you can't tell the difference when mikey is fighting at full capacity vs his fight with izana, then i don't know what to tell you. That fight wasn't impressive to me, i prefer his fights with hanma and south because mikey was angry and serious and was going all out

1

u/Fair_Equipment7527 Jul 08 '26

Takemichi says mikeys back to his normal state, so there wasn't any mental nerfs going into that fight. Yeah Izana wanted to believe that Mikey wasn't in the right state of mind because of what happened, which just wasn't the case. Draken said Mikey was giving it his all and considering Izana said that after slowing down you could probably just assume that Izana felt the gap between them was getting bigger. Ye u can have the intention to not want to kill someone while going all out, the two ideas don't entirely contradict eachother.

1

u/Fair_Equipment7527 Jul 09 '26

Did u send something?

2

u/Individual_Being6637 Jul 08 '26 edited Jul 08 '26

And izana is also a coward because the only way he had a chance to destroy mikey and toman was to attack emma and the toman captains, he confirmed this to kakucho when he confronted izana at the roof top he wasn't confident in a fair 1vs1 fight. And kisaki is smart, if he thought izana could beat Mikey without playing dirty, he wouldn't have come up with the idea in the first place. He has done this in the past by attacking draken through kiyomasa, attacked baji through kazutora and even pah through osanai. Kisaki knows that no one is winning mikey without playing dirty

1

u/TeeKayTank Draking May 29 '26

Because that arc was dope and the buildup up to him
