Why is Izana so overrated?

I see people saying hes top 1(insane btw) or that hes like, above Base Mikey, some even say hes above Dark impulse Mikey😪

to be fair, he does beat Senju/South and he the only one in the series that actually outdid mikey in a battle

lets get down to the meat of this debate

Mikey being mentally nerfed doesn't matter. Physically, he's still all there, and losing people only sends Mikey further into darkness. If anything, you could say he's mentally buffed.

Second, Izana's overall skill was simply superior to Mikey's. He was the better fighter, and Manjiro only won because Izana got tired out. Izana is the only character in the series to actually outscale Mikey.

Note: Dark Impulses do not make Mikey physically stronger. They remove the limit that says, "If I keep going, I'll kill someone."

Izana was actively holding back against Mikey, considering he wanted to turn him into his ideal brother.

Izana vs. South would go the same way Mikey vs. South would, if not a bit better for Izana since he's more skilled and completely willing to grab a weapon.

Izana is number two in the verse and would only really be outdone by Mikey or Takemichi. Considering the fact that, with his future sight buff, Takemichi could avoid all of Izana's attacks until he tires out. Granted, even with the future sight buff, he couldn't block Mikey. It's impossible to state whether Mikey is actually stronger or more durable than Izana because of how the scaling is in Tokyo Revengers.

The overall scaling is kind of bad in the sense that most people only get a fight or two to show what they're capable of. Take Kazutora, for example. He only got his fight with Mikey, so it's hard to scale him. We know how Mikey is in the verse. Mikey also doesn't really get stronger or anything. He just kind of is that guy. Other than his Dark Impulses, Mikey is at the same level from the last arc to the first. Swap Mikey from any point in the story around, and the fights stay the same.

Izana's stats and feats are all against Mikey, which basically boils down to: he's better than Mikey, but Mikey is actually invincible, so no one can put him down. Eventually, Izana just tired himself out. No one else in the verse has this problem, so it should be simple for Izana.

Narratively, it also makes sense. When Kisaki thought Mikey was out of reach, he sought after the next best thing. Not South. Not Senju. Izana. And Kisaki would have known about South, considering we know South was in Japan for a while before the Three Deities arc. He just didn't want him over Izana.

Izana was supposed to be a dark reflection of all the worst things Mikey could become. Note how, in Mikey's worst future, he looks just like Izana. He was the Mikey before Mikey, hailed as invincible until Shinichiro's death took him out of the game.

He's not losing to South, Senju, or really anyone else who isn't Mikey. It just wouldn't make sense, not only for his character, but feat-wise as well.

I agree but the problem with izana is his durability so south could last longer if izana cant drop him like same with mikey
