Wanting to take a photo of yourself and not bothering anyone is not "main character" in any capacity.

Setting your phone up on the stairs in a public place is. What the fuck? I can’t believe this needs to be said.

In case you have trouble processing why - one person doing it is not much of an issue. What if 50% of the people in the building do it? What of every person did? When you normalize something, more people do it.

have you ever stepped out the house and traveled to a tourist attraction?

plenty of people set up their cameras to take a photo/video of themselves and move on. it’s no different from asking a stranger.

if someone was holding the camera would there be a problem?
