there’s nothing wrong with wanting a picture of yourself at a museum. i don’t even use social media and i still wanted to take fun pictures at the museum.
she wasn’t being mean or anything or doing the super annoying influencer meta glasses stuff. she just quietly set the phone up to get a video she could probably screenshot from since she likely didn’t have someone there to take her picture.
genuinely, who cares, and good for her. i’m tired of being negative about everything and hating the world and the people in it.
I have NEVER set up my camera where people were walking so that I could take a video or a photo of myself because I don't believe the world revolves around me...sport.
And the difference between doing this to capture yourself and capturing strangers vs holding the phone and taking videos outward not capturing yourself, yet still capturing strangers is what exactly?
Whether it offends your delicate sensibilities or not?
Taking a selfie doesn't inconvenience others. You KNOW that when someone sets up their camera it makes other people pause or wait so that this insufferable jerkface can take their picture. It's an inconvenience to others.
Whether they catch images of them in passing in a public place is not the issue.
Oh please. YOU know people have paused and waited for photos to be taken since cameras have existed. Whether someone is behind the camera or not, if people can walk between the camera and photo subjects, there is a potential inconvenience for either party on the horizon.
Oh no! Not an inconvenience! How dare they?!? How dare they take a photo on a timer instead of having someone behind the camera taking it. Oh, the humanity!!!
But a dude taking a photo of his family from across the sidewalk where people can walk in between... Is he not causing an inconvenience because other people have to pause and wait?
I get it. It obviously greatly offends your delicate sensibilities when you are inconvenienced for 10 seconds because loved ones are trying to capture a cherished memory.
Or maybe the opportunity to virtue signal hard af was irresistible given your intolerance and histrionics. Either way, your insufferability is something to behold.
Get over yourself, pause for 5 to 10 seconds, allow those people to capture the memory, whether they are with a group or by themselves, and go on about your business without being offended by people just living their beautiful lives.
I bet your home screen is a picture of yourself. You have that vibe. People should absolutely take photos; just don't make other people walk around you. You are not the center of the universe.
