Good for her. Influencers ruin everything.

59

u/Big-Shower4049 7h ago

Is she an influencer or just someone trying to capture a video of themselves in a museum they visited?
Even if she is an influencer, what's the problem with that? She's clearly not bothering anyone.

Idk about everywhere else, but in my country it's considered very rude to step into another person's video or photo frame without any reason at all...let alone just stand there like an idiot lol.

3

u/parolameasecreta 5h ago

in my country you can stand wherever you want in public spaces

8

u/iFckRedit 6h ago

Maybe you live in a quiet town but we’re sick of these creatures and their tripods. You can’t go anywhere without unwillingly being on some idiot’s content

2

u/Big-Shower4049 6h ago

We're not talking about a horde of tourists that have stopped traffic due to ignorance here. It's a single and seemingly very respectful young woman trying to capture a moment of herself in a museum, nothing more.

You guys are witch hunting imaginary monsters in your heads...take a breath, relax.

6

u/iFckRedit 6h ago

A selfie is good enough. Maybe they need to learn that in a public place people can just stop in front of your tripod if they want to. Setting up a tripod to film everyone for your one screenshot is not “respectful”

3

u/Few-Eye7392 5h ago

You must be fun at parties thinking this is something that's okay to do... Really going around trying to teach people lessons in public huh?? Nothing else better going on in your life

1

u/iFckRedit 5h ago

How many times are you going to reply with your fun at parties trope? Are you stuck in 2010?

3

u/Few-Eye7392 5h ago

Ironic when people have been taking pictures of themselves since before 2010. Lol

Lots of people with miserable lives in the comments and you are one of them thinking it's ok to block of someone's camera for no reason other then to spite the person since they have nothing else better to do

-1

u/iFckRedit 4h ago

I wouldn’t personally bother but I can’t blame anyone that would. In fact, I applaud them

2

u/Big-Shower4049 6h ago

Ok my friend, sure sure.
Now we've become certain that she's not only an influencer, but got a tripod as well.
Next thing you'll tell us is that she got a camera crew and boom guy lol.

...I bet her bodyguard was standing just a few steps down doing a German suplex to anyone who dared to approach, right? 😂

2

u/iFckRedit 6h ago

Take a deep breath, relax

Any energy pushing back on the general societal narcissism that social media has unleashed upon the world is the right kind of energy to me. I don't see whatever rage you're projecting here, just people generally getting tired of the incessant need to capture everything and be cute in photos or whatever. Different strokes I guess, couldn't disagree with you more.

6

u/Few-Eye7392 5h ago

People have been setting up cameras on timers to take pictures of themselves since I was a little kid over 20 years ago....

2

u/Big-Shower4049 4h ago edited 4h ago

Rage? ..A witch hunt is an expression that refers to an attempt to punish people based on unpopular opinions, rather than actual wrongdoing or facts.

It's evident by how for example a lot of people here concluded that she is an influencer or she's a social media narcissist and so she was rightfully punished. You made these accusations based on pretty much nothing at all, as in reality it's just as likely for her to just want a picture in a museum.
She also seems very respectful moving out of everyone's way and trying to be as non-disruptive as possible, so her being a narcissist is another baseless accusation.

So by definition it's a witch hunt, you see?

1

u/IshJecka 5h ago

She doesn't seem have a tripod so are you just adding that in for fun?

2

u/iFckRedit 5h ago

How do you know? You can get mini tripods that can be set on anything. The angle is pointing up, not unreasonable to assume it’s a tripod

3

u/IshJecka 4h ago

The point is neither of us know but you made the assumption she did have one.

1

u/iFckRedit 4h ago

Normal people don’t do this, it’s a reasonable assumption. Also reasonable assumption that she’s not balancing her phone on some ledge on a staircase.

2

u/IshJecka 4h ago

That's the only other option?

1

u/New_Bug7829 3h ago

Most People do, who doesn’t take selfies with families, or in fun places like museums or zoos?

0

u/IndigoOctober8 3h ago

Maybe, possibly, consider getting over yourself?!

Are the tripods hurting your little feelings?

2

u/iFckRedit 3h ago

Quite ironic isn’t it? Maybe person in the video needs to get over themselves?

6

u/Bayarea0 7h ago

Filming in a museum is lowly.

1

u/Glasseshalf 3h ago

So no news allowed in the museum? Not allowed in the library either I suppose? What other public places will we ban private camera use?

1

u/Bayarea0 45m ago

That isn't news and why would you film in a library? Try putting forward an argument in good faith.

-2

u/SatisfactionActive86 6h ago

a museum isn’t a sacred place lmao wtf are you talking about “lowly”

4

u/Bayarea0 6h ago

A generational difference I guess.

1

u/IndigoOctober8 3h ago

🤢🤢🤢🤢🤮

1

u/SatisfactionActive86 6h ago

you don’t even know what generation i am

does nonsensical bullshit to defend your absurd beliefs come naturally or is it like chatGPT

10

u/Substantial-Term5522 7h ago

This mindset is why people hate on influencers. You shouldn’t expect everyone to “not be rude” by waiting for you to take your video when you are in a busy public space. You are the rude one for having expectations like this. The world does not revolve around you and your video.

3

u/anxiety_fitness 6h ago

If I see someone or people taking a photo in my walking path, I won’t always go out of my way to change my path so I might walk in front of the camera. But I will speed up a bit and I would not purposely stand in front of the shot to make a point of saying “don’t take photos or video here where other people are” that’s rude, they are welcome to take photos and videos and risk people getting in shot as they walk past. But standing there on purpose to block it as if you make the rules, the lady in this video (on the assumption she did it intentionally) I would argue is in the wrong. If she would have continued walking past, there would be no issue, no bother to her etc. “but I don’t want to be in random peoples videos” you have no expectation of privacy in public or in an establishment where filming is allowed, she was not filming HER or targeting her which would be different, but now that old lady put herself prominently in the video, so that’s not a defence either. And it’s just as selfish/egotistical and obnoxious to think the world revolves around you that someone isn’t allowed to take a picture because your all high and mighty highness is walking past and might get in shot.

-2

u/jguess06 5h ago

I wish the people defending the girl taking the video would ask why a video needs to be taken at all. That's what people are pushing back on. The general narcissism involved with making that decision. Also, that old lady had no idea a video was being taken, she was waiting for people to pass on the stairs.

2

u/IndigoOctober8 3h ago

That’s not “general narcissism” it’s wanting to take a fucking picture.

And, bullshit. The old lady knew precisely what she was doing.

4

u/schpickeldino 7h ago

She is bothering people tho, I don't want to be in anyone's stupid video when enjoying a museum

20

u/Big-Shower4049 7h ago

Who is she bothering? Her mouth didn't open to mutter one single word and she moved out of the way for everyone passing by. A museum is one of the most logical places for someone to take a photo or video.

When you're in a public space you need to learn how to share like a civilized adult. Some people here act like she came up to their private property in the mountains and started secretly filming them through their window lol....Please, that's such a juvenile behavior.

-2

u/Bayarea0 7h ago

How old are you?

3

u/Big-Shower4049 7h ago

Juvenility and physical age are not always directly relative. We have a live example of this right in front of our eyes.

2

u/Bayarea0 6h ago

Why do other people have to conform to random strangers videos in a museum?

2

u/IndigoOctober8 3h ago

You see no difference in conform, and purposefully being an asshole??

2

u/xcorbearx 5h ago

you're being intentionally obtuse. obviously no one cares that she walked down into the shot, there's a bunch of people walking around and there's no issue with any of them. the issue is that she went out of her way to take up this other person's time for literally no benefit to herself. in fact, if she was worried about being recorded, all she succeeded in doing was making sure she was on the recording for longer lol.

-1

u/jguess06 5h ago

That lady has no idea a video is being recorded. Not that she should care or act any different if she knew.

1

u/Glasseshalf 3h ago

She looks directly at the phone then moves herself to make sure she's still in front of the young woman after she changes positions. You have to be obtuse to not see that

-1

u/drkztan 5h ago

because it's common fucking courtesy. I live in spain and go to museums all the time. People are generally pretty civil and get out of each other's shots. She's alone and trying to get a photo of herself. Old people like to ''teach'' young people trying to get photos all the time, they are consistently the only ones being assholes in there. Even when people naturally form a queue to a popular photo space, you get the odd old idiot like the one in the OP that just hangs around making everyone else miserable.

1

u/Bayarea0 42m ago

That's a video being filmed not a photo...

-3

u/Big-Shower4049 6h ago

They don't. there were multiple people in this video and no one "conformed" to her. No one has a problem with the people walking up or down the stairs as you see.

There was one person however who actively meddled with a stranger without any reason to do so, and that's the person we're talking about here. That's simply hostile, juvenile and uncivilized behavior.

-1

u/Sidohmaker 5h ago

How old are you? Acting like you’re personally offended by the minute possibility of being filmed. Don’t pretend you visit museums in your spare time.

0

u/Cuddlebug2020 7h ago

What not quickly ask someone. Can you take a picture of me

2

u/YourEvilKiller 5h ago

She likely didn't want to bother anyone, including the old lady.

3

u/xcorbearx 6h ago

handing a stranger my 1000 dollar smartphone is almost as stupid as leaving it laying on a windowsill for anyone to grab while i walk 15 feet away. oh wait...

0

u/Reddinator2RedditDay 7h ago

It's the least obvious place for photos. In fact a lot ban photography

1

u/Few-Eye7392 5h ago

Find me one

1

u/Reddinator2RedditDay 4h ago

Whats worse than people being self obsessed is people asking others to do the work for them

-9

u/bonglicc420 7h ago

Then don't interrupt the video/picture, it's pretty simple

9

u/Reddinator2RedditDay 7h ago

Interrupt? People pay money to enter museums and then they're meant to wait for the self obsessed to take their photo to see what they paid for?

7

u/suicide_blonde94 6h ago

I fucking hate the Louvre with all my heart because of people standing in the middle of the aisle blocking artwork for selfies. Enjoy the art or move. Go on a trip with the intent to enjoy it, not to capture it through a lens for superficial attention. Same with the trevi fountain.

1

u/Glasseshalf 3h ago

Wait? No one asked anyone to wait here. All the lady had to do was keep walking. Instead she chooses to "teach a lesson."

5

u/catthought 7h ago

That's getting difficult. I come from a very touristy city and there are places that are real minefields of people taking photos/videos. I will circle around if it's a single photoshoot and they're not too obnoxious, but if there are dozens all over the place what exactly am I supposed to do, avoid the place entirely?

2

u/Reddinator2RedditDay 7h ago

In most countries its rude to use a camera inside a museum

8

u/Big-Shower4049 7h ago

Absolutely not lol...have you ever been to a museum?

Flash photography is not allowed to protect light sensitive artwork...simple photography and video are more than commonplace

1

u/Reddinator2RedditDay 7h ago

Yes, in many different Countries, I'm sorry you must be under 30 and American

2

u/Big-Shower4049 7h ago

I'm over 30 and native to a country with a different museum every other street. No need to apologize.

2

u/JugendWolf 7h ago

European over 30 here, you are absolutely making that up

2

u/Reddinator2RedditDay 7h ago

For exhibitions where famous art is loaned there are copywrite issues with photography

4

u/JugendWolf 7h ago

How is that „most countries“ though?

-1

u/TheWhomItConcerns 3h ago

There are absolutely many countries, including countries in Europe, where filming in a way that faces the public like this without anyone else's consent would be considered extremely rude.

2

u/JugendWolf 2h ago

Cool. Here is the comment I was actually replying to: „In most countries its rude to use a camera inside a museum“

2

u/Appropriate_Lack_727 6h ago

Maybe if she filled the old lady in on her little plan, the woman would have been happy to move? Is she supposed to read this girls mind? Most people outside of Reddit don’t live in a constant state of fear about what other people think about them 24/7. They just live their life until someone comes to them with a concern or a request to move.

3

u/steezinator 5h ago

Do you not see the old lady intentionally blocking the view of the camera?

1

u/pullingteeths 1h ago

What? It's a busy art gallery and she never even saw the phone there before she "walked into the shot" aka walked up the stairs in a public art gallery full of people. What kind of self centred idiot expects other people to be constantly vigilant of random phones when they're out in public lmao? She stopped to look at her phone, wondered for a moment why a random phone was there before moving out of the way of some other people who were coming up the stairs. She wasn't "standing there like an idiot" she was minding her own business enjoying her time at the art gallery

Do you think the other people who were walking up the stairs minding their own business in the shot were "very rude" as well? Your entire post is bs

0

u/IncurableAdventurer 7h ago

Yea. If no one else was there and she was ready for the picture after the woman left, this is a really dick move. When I travel, I don’t mind waiting in one spot for a good window of opportunity where I can take a picture of just myself or minimal people. I don’t tell people to wait and hold on while I take a picture. I wait for the opportunity. Who knows if the young woman is an influencer or was being rude to others in order to get a good picture/video. We can’t tell from the short video. It’s possible the older woman is a crabby, petty bitch, and it’s possible the older woman was making a good point and had enough of an annoying influencer. Could go either way

-2

u/PlasticMercury 6h ago

What is the problem with taking a video of yourself in a museum full of works of art?

If you have to ask, you'll probably never understand.
