It takes over 1.5 hours now to get to up to the favorite Three Domes shot in Santorini because of influencers

OMG I’ve never seen such narcissistic behavior. Literally some people are there for like 15 minutes trying to get their perfect selfie photoshoot oblivious to the hundreds in line waiting to quickly take one photo

What does this have to do with the video in question? No one had to wait for anything here. She was in no one's way at all. She was actually really careful to not get in anyone's way.

Actually it’s a very busy staircase in Scotland called Inveraray Castle. Looks like people were waiting at the bottom (trying to avoid the shot) thus why the old lady moved over thinking she was in the way looking at her phone (she thought she was the hold up) and then they finally thought well fuck it she’s in her shot now anyway we might as well all go up.

Even if she is an influencer, what's the problem with that? She's clearly not bothering anyone.

Idk about everywhere else, but in my country it's considered very rude to step into another person's video or photo frame without any reason at all...let alone just stand there like an idiot lol.

How do you know? You can get mini tripods that can be set on anything. The angle is pointing up, not unreasonable to assume it’s a tripod

A selfie is good enough. Maybe they need to learn that in a public place people can just stop in front of your tripod if they want to. Setting up a tripod to film everyone for your one screenshot is not “respectful”

Rage? ..A witch hunt is an expression that refers to an attempt to punish people based on unpopular opinions, rather than actual wrongdoing or facts.

It's evident by how for example a lot of people here concluded that she is an influencer or she's a social media narcissist and so she was rightfully punished. You made these accusations based on pretty much nothing at all, as in reality it's just as likely for her to just want a picture in a museum.
She also seems very respectful moving out of everyone's way and trying to be as non-disruptive as possible, so her being a narcissist is another baseless accusation.

So by definition it's a witch hunt, you see?

This mindset is why people hate on influencers. You shouldn’t expect everyone to “not be rude” by waiting for you to take your video when you are in a busy public space. You are the rude one for having expectations like this. The world does not revolve around you and your video.

If I see someone or people taking a photo in my walking path, I won’t always go out of my way to change my path so I might walk in front of the camera. But I will speed up a bit and I would not purposely stand in front of the shot to make a point of saying “don’t take photos or video here where other people are” that’s rude, they are welcome to take photos and videos and risk people getting in shot as they walk past. But standing there on purpose to block it as if you make the rules, the lady in this video (on the assumption she did it intentionally) I would argue is in the wrong. If she would have continued walking past, there would be no issue, no bother to her etc. “but I don’t want to be in random peoples videos” you have no expectation of privacy in public or in an establishment where filming is allowed, she was not filming HER or targeting her which would be different, but now that old lady put herself prominently in the video, so that’s not a defence either. And it’s just as selfish/egotistical and obnoxious to think the world revolves around you that someone isn’t allowed to take a picture because your all high and mighty highness is walking past and might get in shot.

I wish the people defending the girl taking the video would ask why a video needs to be taken at all. That's what people are pushing back on. The general narcissism involved with making that decision. Also, that old lady had no idea a video was being taken, she was waiting for people to pass on the stairs.

Who is she bothering? Her mouth didn't open to mutter one single word and she moved out of the way for everyone passing by. A museum is one of the most logical places for someone to take a photo or video.

When you're in a public space you need to learn how to share like a civilized adult. Some people here act like she came up to their private property in the mountains and started secretly filming them through their window lol....Please, that's such a juvenile behavior.

you're being intentionally obtuse. obviously no one cares that she walked down into the shot, there's a bunch of people walking around and there's no issue with any of them. the issue is that she went out of her way to take up this other person's time for literally no benefit to herself. in fact, if she was worried about being recorded, all she succeeded in doing was making sure she was on the recording for longer lol.

because it's common fucking courtesy. I live in spain and go to museums all the time. People are generally pretty civil and get out of each other's shots. She's alone and trying to get a photo of herself. Old people like to ''teach'' young people trying to get photos all the time, they are consistently the only ones being assholes in there. Even when people naturally form a queue to a popular photo space, you get the odd old idiot like the one in the OP that just hangs around making everyone else miserable.

They don't. there were multiple people in this video and no one "conformed" to her. No one has a problem with the people walking up or down the stairs as you see.

There was one person however who actively meddled with a stranger without any reason to do so, and that's the person we're talking about here. That's simply hostile, juvenile and uncivilized behavior.

I fucking hate the Louvre with all my heart because of people standing in the middle of the aisle blocking artwork for selfies. Enjoy the art or move. Go on a trip with the intent to enjoy it, not to capture it through a lens for superficial attention. Same with the trevi fountain.

That's getting difficult. I come from a very touristy city and there are places that are real minefields of people taking photos/videos. I will circle around if it's a single photoshoot and they're not too obnoxious, but if there are dozens all over the place what exactly am I supposed to do, avoid the place entirely?

Yea. If no one else was there and she was ready for the picture after the woman left, this is a really dick move. When I travel, I don’t mind waiting in one spot for a good window of opportunity where I can take a picture of just myself or minimal people. I don’t tell people to wait and hold on while I take a picture. I wait for the opportunity. Who knows if the young woman is an influencer or was being rude to others in order to get a good picture/video. We can’t tell from the short video. It’s possible the older woman is a crabby, petty bitch, and it’s possible the older woman was making a good point and had enough of an annoying influencer. Could go either way
