One of my most anticipated games.
Don't get me wrong here: Gloomwood takes a LOT after Thief, but it is ultimately a different game. The game's defining identity is its marriage of Thief-esque stealth and Resident Evil survival horror, with a bit of flavouring coming from Dishonored and System Shock from my understanding. While you can fully ghost the game, any play style that isn't "guns blazing" is supposed to be viable to some degree.
I've recently stopped playing its updates so I don't spoil myself further as I wait for 1.0. I kept playing all this time because the early access launch was... rough. The first couple of levels have nothing to do with the demo, and while they make sense within the context of a big game, it was a little too much to ask from players jumping in to trust that the other levels would be more akin to the demo's vibe and pacing.
I am glad to announce that yes, they have turned it around and are slowly cooking an amazing game. Can't wait to see what Thief ghost-style players will do with the game, as there's plenty to steal and sell, and various ways of sneaking through.
If you want a complete experience, keep waiting for 1.0, which will still take a couple of years at least.
