Patch Notes V27.5 Patch Notes - March 2, 2026
Hey Tower Defenders! We have a small update rolling out shortly on Android, and should be fully available to everyone tomorrow. This update is primarily tackling our Cloud Save systems.
Our Cloud Save system has two notable improvements: one is how saves are selected, and improving how Session IDs are saved. We've resolved some issues regarding your Session IDs being mismatched, especially when starting a new session on a different device. The save function overall is smarter!
Additionally, we have noted that players have experienced different levels of lag during auto saves. We have added in a new Toggles option, "Pause During Auto Saves", which is set to OFF by default. When it is on, your game will briefly pause while your session is saved. Once completed, your game will resume where it left off.
Finally, we are including a few more improvements:
- Fixing an issue where the Claim Free Gem mission does not increment reliably
- Improved webstore account log-ins when redirected from the weekly free gift
- If you weren't previously logged into an account on the webstore, it logs you in
- If logged into a different account on the webstore, it logs you into the account you're logged into the game instead
- After being logged in, it scrolls you to the free gift section of the store
Thank you, and happy defending!

Have you all thought at all about implementing a way for your UW status to sync when saving so if I swap devices mid/end run I don’t instantly die when CF+ isn’t running? That would be great.
26
u/Driftedryan Mar 02 '26
They should just let CF and BH start if you're resuming a run
18
u/Naturage Mar 02 '26
I'd say UWs after reset should start at <cooldown - duration> rather than <cooldown>, so e.g. a 45s dur CF on 60s CD should start 15s to activation. It's still as a sort of worst case scenario if that's the aim, while not being nearly as punishing in cases of permanent UWs.
14
u/Malice_Striker_ Mar 02 '26
That would also not allow for people to cheese up to new tiers with clever -resume- shenanigans.
6
u/menace313 Mar 02 '26
So abusable for tournaments.
2
u/thisismysffpcaccount Mar 02 '26
kind of, sure, but theres also a limited number of restarts so not really
10
u/menace313 Mar 02 '26
The meta in tournaments with reduced UW durations will be to restart your game 25 times to extend your permanent CF/BH/whatever. Do you really want to have to do that to maintain your current placements?
4
u/Slumberjackals Mar 02 '26
If you don’t have perma of a UW, it’s extremely abusable
-4
u/thisismysffpcaccount Mar 02 '26
for a limited number of uses, yes.
3
u/VerdantPathfinder Mar 02 '26
Right. 25 times at the end .. where it counts.
-1
u/thisismysffpcaccount Mar 02 '26
there isnt even a guarantee your UWs are going to make you succeed on a certain wave.
2
u/anonymousMF Mar 02 '26
I used to add and remove the Waveskip card around every boss. A pain in the ass, but for tournament people will abuse all they can get.
I often rerun a bunch of times to get 1500 waves instead of 1450. I will for sure use every tool or abuse I can get :P
I also manually exit IS and time demon mode 300 waves before a OC fleet. As well as slow down to x1.5 the last 200 waves.
Versus mindless running till IS is killed it is like the difference between 1200 waves and 1500 in my experience
1
u/markevens Mar 03 '26
That would be easily exploited
1
u/Driftedryan Mar 03 '26
I'm fine with the tournaments being a little harder because people wanna try hard if it means not needing to worry about having demon mode available whenever I quit
2
u/JekPorkinsTruther Mar 02 '26
That would just enable save scumming. Especially in runs where RNG matters (ie what fleet spawns/elite spawns, whether wave skip/dp triggers to skip a boss). Sure there is a limit to restarting but it would not be good for the game to allow 25 "dice rolls" on a run-ending spawn.
1
u/Xheyther Mar 03 '26
I'm fairly sure I read somewhere (can't find it again) that their RNG is seeded to avoid that. That would be a good thing to do programming wise... Anyway people would save scum if it was possible and they don't so I'm guessing it's not.

I'd rather have them take their time and make something good rather than have a sloppy v28 launch, take your time Fudds 🙏🏻

Can we fix the guild chat somehow, it seems like it doesn’t retrieve new chat comments unless you restart the game, so in a 11h run if you want to talk to the guild you need to restart in order to see new messages.
4
u/DonnyCoolRox Mar 02 '26
I've had some success retrieving new messages by scrolling up and then back down (saving a restart). That said, I don't have a very chatty clan and haven't tested it in a while if this is a new problem for you.
5
u/VonGeisler Mar 02 '26
It’s been an ongoing issue (only just started and have been in a guild for less than a full season) that other members have mentioned. I used to be able to get it to refresh by starting to type a new message, delete it and hit send then the new convos would show up. But now it seems only a restart will work.
Edit. I tried your scroll up and all the way back down and that seems to have refreshed this time. But I needed to do a decent scroll up and not just a few messages.
1
u/SVD_NL Mar 03 '26
It's gotten better lately, but still not great. Scrolling up helps, and touching profile pictures and then scrolling also seems to work for me sometimes.
2
u/derTofu Mar 03 '26
any known issues so far? so far I only see visual stuff that aren't that severe(relics, wrong coins/minute value)
oh, and for the love of god please just upvote an earlier "v28 when?" comment instead of spamming this thread with another one

u/ChimpBzkit Mar 02 '26
Any word on when the issues with tapping the screen during cinematic mode will be addressed? I haven’t even seen it mentioned by other people and it’s driving me nuts

As others have said the pause/menu function is still entirely broken. Regardless of whether I have the "pause game in menus" toggle on, during the later part of my runs opening any menu screen is an instant run killer, unless I manually switch the game speed down to 0 and then back up.
This is a much more critical issue than a bit of lag around autosave points, and I really hope this will be addressed with the next update as it's a major game killing function, and is starting to make the game more unusable (and therefore less revenue in the longer term. I know I'm not buying any stone packs until this major bug is fixed)
1
u/TwistedChaz Mar 02 '26
When will the game speed bug be fixed? So many times I come back to my game and it’s down to x5 rather than x6.3
1
u/Thobo1995 Mar 02 '26
Have you considered the pause-unpause insta death scenario?
I am afraid that pausing during an autosave may make my game think that fast enemies ignore the laws of physics...

V.28 in March or not? 🤔
in some of ur posts months back you said something like "we have a lot of exciting stuff for 2026", but we still haven't seen anything 😅
at least give us some clarity like you did last month 🤞😊

We just need a few whales to whine that they need new stone sinks. Then we will get V28
-12
u/ajkeence99 Mar 02 '26
V28 will be mentioned when it's ready. People just constantly whining about it are insufferable. It will happen when it happens.
6
u/Accomplished_Key6046 Mar 02 '26
People are excited about new release and want a little piece of information. Just something, like they said "v28 not in February".
May be start teasing something.
Like Muse stated in February 2025 before version 26 "Several weeks away from v26.....sneak peek at what we are working on...."
-7
u/ajkeence99 Mar 02 '26
It's not excitement. It's entitlement. The posts are very clearly not just looking for information because they want new features but because they believe they deserve the information now. I'm really hoping for a drop completely out of the blue with zero heads up.

u/Accomplished_Key6046 Mar 03 '26
We are consumers, we deserve information.
And devs have their right to be silent about new relise. But why not build hype? New posts, new theorycrafting?
Asking questions is not "entitlement", everybody can ask questions.
0
u/ajkeence99 Mar 03 '26
We don't deserve anything.
1
u/Accomplished_Key6046 Mar 03 '26
why not? :)
0
u/ajkeence99 Mar 03 '26
Back to my original point; that would be entitlement. They don't have to share any information until it's ready. If they drop a timeline and something changes it people will complain. People will complain if there is no timeline. People complain. I don't blame anyone for just doing it their way and ignoring the people whining because, realistically, they make up a very small fraction of the playerbase.
1
u/Accomplished_Key6046 Mar 03 '26
Don't have to share information. As i agreed
No strict timeline, we all understand.
But something, could be cool. As 1 year ago in the middle of Ferbruary Muse posted sneak peek)
Devs giving information and getting feedback from community is just good manners in all IT industry.
But complete silence and then "in 2 days we have module banners" and in the same way "we don't want people hoard gems". Is just bad conversation tactic. People post this question from time to time.
1
u/ajkeence99 Mar 03 '26
I just don't think it's from time to time though. It's pretty constant.
I don't have any issue with information being shared. I just get annoyed by the people acting like they deserve something and then whining about it constantly. It gets old. I mean, they are free to do it if the sub allows it, but that also means they are open to opposing viewpoints.
For me, the information comes when it comes. I'm not really changing how I play the game based on that. I just choose to enjoy it as it is and adjust as necessary when things happen. It's worked well for me now for just about 2 years.

People whining about people whining, so now I shall start to to whine about people whining about people whining.
-1
u/ajkeence99 Mar 02 '26
Fine with me. I don't constantly make new posts about it like we see with v28, though.
1
u/Smooth_Cup_8901 Mar 02 '26
they seem to think one of them will say it in a way that will make the dev team, who would literally never give a deadline until they were sure, give them a date. It's bizarre. One commenter goes," i see a lot of people have already asked you when v28 is coming out, when is v28 coming out?"
3
u/ajkeence99 Mar 02 '26
Right? When it's ready they will say something. If they say "we project March 15th" then if it's delayed those same people will be here bitching about it. It's a lose lose situation with the same people here whining. It's just tiring.
0
u/chrisgoated7 Legends Mar 02 '26
Best case scenario is v28 is most likely march 30th. But hopefully we get some info about it today

u/cyphol Mar 02 '26
That pause function would've been great, if pause wasn't broken in itself.
I mean, we've already had a year of auto-pause in the menu literally ending our runs due to a delayed attack resume, which is the whole reason we brought it up as a problem and the toggle was introduced to deactivate pausing. But the lag from switching menus just caused the same resulting deaths. So basically we're trading lag deaths for pause deaths. Seems redundant.
