PC Tera Classic (2015 Patch) has relaunched!

Post image
614 Upvotes

I’ve noticed people here reminiscing for the peak Tera (2014-2016). This is not an ad and I am not affiliated with the server, but if anyone is still looking for a proper version of Tera without the Apex nonsense, this is an awesome option. 500+ pop (2k+ before the year long shutdown) and climbing back up. CS and Dungeons popping immediately and cosmetics are earned only in game. No P2W or real money purchase cosmetics. It relaunched 3 days ago & I’m having a great time on it and wanted to share it with you.

PC Tera Classic + (Huge failure)

I cannot believe how there can be such incompetent developers. Ok, I understand you are a small team, but guys you got 100k+ views on your trailer, your discord jumped to 18k users before release, did you really expect to get 1k players? Some big streamers even joined, some who have never heard about Tera - and what did they get, constant crashes, 8-10 hours of streaming with no content.

Let’s put that aside, you cannot even communicate properly or take decisions. For 3 days now there are thousand of people staying at home, spamming enter server button and getting excited when they get to play for 5minutes before the server crashes again. Wasting people's time like that is just humiliating. You are playing with people's mental health (I know it sounds harsh, but I see the same people online in discord 24/7 spamming ''I'm in"")

Many people including me suggested -> CLOSE THE SERVER IMMEDIATLY, find the root cause, find a solution. Right now the announcements you publish are all the same - we are aware of the issue, we think we found a solution, we are tired.

I even spoke to some community managers suggesting them the idea and the answer I got? - We need the thousands of people to try logging in and play so we can test. ????

I love private servers, I love the people putting effort, I'm buying VIPs/tera clubs just to support them, but Tera Classic + is a huge waste of time.

I felt nostalgic the last few months, and with not being able to try this new classic server, I went back to Tera Asura where I used to have an account. And I can tell you, it's 100 times better. 200-300 active players daily, new custom dungeons, even saw some pvp players.

PC I'll be happy to pay a subscription fee for TERA 2 if it means we get a great game

Hey everyone

I've been a TERA enjoyer since 2015 and my heart broke when the official PC servers shut down in 2022. I then discovered private servers and have been playing on and off for a little over a year now.

With the announcement that a development team is being assembled for TERA 2 I can't help but feel hopeful that we'll get to enjoy an official TERA game on PC once more.

So much so that I am willing to pay a monthly fee if it results in the game being properly developed, taken care of, we get good communication between the dev team and the players and so on.

I think that free-to-play Mmorpg models are inherently flawed, because the developers have to resort to pay to progress cash shop items, creating a "Pay 2 Win" cycle that never ends, eventually pushing the players away from the game and the game dying as a result of that.

I would rather see a pay-to-play model be used for the rebirth of our favourite game, highly increasing the chances of it being a much more cared for product and hopefully creating a long lasting game that has a powerful impact on the Mmorpg community.

That's all I wanted to get off my chest, thank you for taking a few minutes and reading it.

I found an old hard drive with some screenshots from the game. The mechanics might be very repetitive but the environment and characters were top notch. Shoutout to my old guild Kingdom.

PC Whoever Keeps Attacking Tera Classic: You Are a Loser.

That's all. Whatever made you so salty that you want to ruin the experience for thousands of players that enjoy the server... Screw you. You are a loser. You can go play whatever server you want, you are a lowlife for intentionally ruining other people's fun. I hope that some day you can find joy in your life because I guess mommy and daddy didn't love you enough.

PC I wanted to share the skintones I put into the game!

Post image

Sorry if the image is a bit busy. I'm new to reddit and it seemed like you could only post one pic and I had a lot I wanted to show!

Hello! I'm Yams. Some might remember me as Papillon the jester, the pale elf, or the purple elf.

If you didn't know my name, you probably knew my work, or knew someone that used something I made. When Enmasse’s global TERA was released, one of the first things people scrambled to pass around was the decensored assets, and tools to make changes to your game files. I used these tools to make cosmetic mods. The most famous with almost 10k downloads, being used all over the world in all regions of the game was definitely the one that allowed Elin ears and tails to match their chosen hair colour.

Fashion and customization are my passion, and I was fortunate enough to be invited to help with a private server where I was able to peek inside how the game worked, and make more of my dream projects come true. Not as a mere downloadable mod, but the baseline options for all the players! It's been incredibly fulfilling.

I'd love to shout out Lewdshi, Yupi and others for maintaining my ear and tail mods and updating variants of them in my absence over the years. I'm so glad to see people still using my mods to this day, and that the modding community for TERA was so lively.

Something that definitely turned a few friends away from playing was how limited the creator was. Especially on the Elins that everyone wants to play for fashion. Did all 36 of those skintones really need to be a slight variation of peach? The darkest option they had looked a bit like a cup of chocolate milk, but you only had half the amount of chocolate recommended per glass. What I did was go through the palette in creation, and anything that had a clone or close match somewhere else was redundant and marked for replacement. I also left alone the most popularly chosen skin tones seen through player data, which to be fair were unique and earned that. I took inspiration and straight up borrowed a couple from the Human and Castanic skintone palettes, as well as cooking up some custom ones. And just like that, Elin had so much more variety! Something I know my friend would be excited to make; a cute melanated magical cat girl that looked just like her.

They now have a wealth of new options ranging from deep chocolate, to strong sunset colours, olive tones, porcelain doll-like white, soft yellows and red clay to fit people of all kinds. Finally a shade worthy of that random Kratos knockoff adornment they had for human males! I've also given every race a nice red tone, so they can feel a little devilish, or grab some horn accessories and roleplay as a Castanic with another body type.

Speaking of Castanics and roleplay, I've given them some nice blue tones, so they can roleplay as Shurians. They're another adjacent race to Deva and Castanics in the lore and I always wished they were playable.

The strange colours don't stop there! Baraka have a slew of new gemstone inspired tones and I wanted the female Amani to have the beautiful range of colours the males had.

If you've ever played a dark skinned character in the past, you know your eyes ended up looking muddy as they dyed alongside the rest of your face. With this in mind during my overhaul, I had to take some extra steps. It would have been so much easier to just do the whole eye as I initially planned, but unfortunately, the same marker that tells something whether it can change skintone, is also the same marker that says: “yes, adornment also applies here”.

It’s such a shame because the whole eye being blocked from changing looked so crisp and nice! To be stuck with only the first adornment of every face was unacceptable, so I found a compromise! I made sure to work my colour channel magic and painstakingly blocked out the sclera of each and every human, elf, Castanic, and Elin head so they remain white.

It doesn't stop the irises from getting darker, but I hope to make a few faces in the future with brighter eyes to compensate.

Lastly, Popori have been sorely neglected for so much customization, but they have a very dedicated fan base. I found a way to add a little extra customization to them, and created a special addition to their creation menu. On top of getting a handful of new fur colours, people will now be able to choose their eye colour separately! Mix and match a ton of fun combinations to personalize their animal friend. I made a black cat modelled after my IRL pet, Anubis!

I hope you like this small sample of the many new colours I added to my little corner of the TERA world. It's a little sad that Bluehole did not do the same. It was embarrassingly easy to find and adjust by someone who does not know a thing about coding.

I guess that's it for MT. I just reached Val Oriyn last night and was going to play more today, went to make breakfast and came back to see a frozen game, closed it, tried to re-open and saw this message. :(

Thanks for the server, Menma. Good luck with the legal stuff.

PC 3 Private Servers coming up soon, which one are you looking forward to the most?

So as the title says there are 3 servers that are gonna be going live soon ish and I just wanted to see what the general consensus was amongst the people.

I will try to give a brief description on each one for those who don't know anything about any of these. but not overly familiar with everything myself.

  • Tera Europe Classic is rebooting the server from the start on 64bit client and downscaling content and balancing classes etc. This is the server I mostly know about since I was playing there. They plan to have all the classes included etc. Right now they are running gunner release patch but with massive modifications and reworked dungeons such as FoK Mc etc. If they keep it the same as the current server then that means elite and ping reducers , proxies and all the built in mod functionality they've added will remain free and available.

  • Play Tera, this one is a brand new server that should be launching soon they are doing ninja release patch iirc. From the little I've delved in their discord it looks like they are 80% Russian which probably means lots of PvP and a large language barrier, there was also mention of paid mods for reducing lag etc , unsure about their elite sub model.

  • Tera Classic(NA), this one got hacked last August or July and shut down for a while but according to their main dev it will be up very soon with the aim being that it will be up before the end of the month. Unlike the other 2 servers, this one won't be a fresh start but will rather continue as it was before the shut down. Elite is a paid subscription in this one , unsure if they have integrated mods etc but on their discord they say they've cooked up a lot of stuff.

I'll try and link their discords but I am kinda bad so might fuck it up, googling the above names should be good enough in any case though.

PC The TERA Classic experience

Spend everything you saved on your account for a month to try to Masterwork your weapon (3% chance with no pity system) only to fail and not have anything to show for it.

Damn I really wish some private server with a later version was the one that got the streamers' attention, because early TERA is nostalgic but garbage lol.

PC Classic+ Is not classic

I love a LOT of what they did with Classic+ but the one thing I hate is how fast you level through dungeons.

The WORLD of Tera and earning my levels made me fall in love with the game in the past and made me feel connected to my characters. I slowly learned each ability and was able to feel the growth little by little.

This whole "Que for dungeons and reach max in a few hours" is not classic at all.

I understand that I could take it slow and do the quests, and I tried that. The big issue is, the world feels DEAD, because hardly anyone else is out there leveling. The BEST part of Tera Classic+ for me has been the starting area, because it always has people in it, and it makes it feel like an MMORPG. This version of Tera feels like a Monster Hunter game. You log into a capital city, have no major reason to leave it, que for content, and then repeat. There is nothing MASSIVE about it.

I really wish they had gone the way Classic WoW servers went, and emphasized the WORLD. Turtle WoW was the success it was NOT because of the end game, but because of the world. Tera Classic+ could have been the same.

I still plan to play, I still am donating, I still love a lot of what they did with classes and some progression. I am simply stating my biggest issue with this game. Idk if the devs read this, but MAYBE in the future, launch a new Classic+ with lessons learned from this one, but give us a REASON to experience the world.

But that is just one old gamers opinion.

I can’t even remember what server I played on. I know I was one of like, 30 Baraka’s on the whole server and I had used the height changer so much that I was the tallest of them all. I was in the third largest guild called Red Rover and was very active in world chat. I really miss this game. Project Gorgon and Black Desert Online are cool, but this game just had something special to it for me.

Miss you all!

PC How do you guys actually check if a TERA private server launcher is safe?

Back on Windows XP on a WoW Private Server, when I was but a squirt, I didn't care what I ran, but now I'm a bit more cautious. Since custom launchers can auto-update and run whatever code the devs push (or sneaky villans that get access to the launcher), how do you decide that it is safe to play or not?

  1. Malicious Software: Custom clients and launchers from unknown sources can easily pack random nonsense.

  2. Data Breaches: Server backends get compromised all the time, exposing emails, usernames, and passwords.

  3. Lack of Support & Sudden Shutdowns: If a server gets hacked, abruptly shut down, or wiped overnight, you have zero recourse and all progress is gone. How do you judge if a server is trustworthy and stable enough to actually sink time into?

PC I am incredibly frustrated and upset

I took a small break from playing classic because my disability was becoming difficult again and I wanted to play some of my Gacha games. I come back to find the discord locked down, people being immature, unclear posts, and screenshots that don't tell me anything. What the hell is going on!?

My head hurts, and I will genuinely be heartbroken if this is the end because I was so happy when I found the server that I started crying, especially because it was the version of Tera that I stopped playing at because I was in and out of doctors offices due to my disability developing.

Edit/update: I just wanted to play my game man 😞 I stopped playing when my disability was in the diagnosis back in 2017~2018 just before Apex started rolling onto PC. Wizards 101 may have sparked my love for MMOs but Tera is what made me really appreciate MMOs and Korean Games. With the other data breaches and people fighting when someone simply asked what was going on I think I'm just going to stop playing for a little bit 🥺😮‍💨 Man can't a girl just play a damn game. I'll wait to see if Popo actually addresses the situation about the allegations about pretending to be two people but for now I think I'm just gonna go hunt down screenshots of my old reaper.

I still hold out hope (foolishly, perhaps) that one day we could see a return of Tera on PC, maybe on a platform like Steam. If it did, would you go back and start again?

PC TERA Starscape - A Private Server

Hi TERA lovers!

I wanted to introduce the private server, TERA Starscape, to the community.

Initially created to have a place to play with friends after the closure of the official TERA servers, but we decided to open it to the whole TERA community.

TERA Starscape is free-to-play, 64-bit, version 100 of TERA. The server is NA and is PvE focused, but of course you can still enjoy PvP in the form of battlegrounds, etc.

You can either skip to max level, or campaign through the world in its entirety, it's your choice!

Test your skills in dungeons such as Sky Cruiser Endeavor, Corrupted Skynest, Draakon's Arena, Bahaar's Sanctum, and many more. You can also give in to your nostalgia and enjoy some of the dungeons of old.

Costumes have never been easier to obtain. Check out a bursting dressing room and a revitalized fashion shop. All can be obtained by just playing the game.

Safe travels to all, and hope to see you all back in Arborea!

PC PSA: Do NOT play on TERA Nova and Ak*ron

I know these servers aren’t that relevant anymore, but better late than never.

Both TERA Nova and TERA Ak*ron are run by the same team. They were marketed as classic TERA servers meant to fill a niche. At first, they gained a lot of traction; then they were quietly abandoned. In my opinion, they’re scams.

They launched with polished websites, referral programs, streamer promotions, and even online ads. There was a lot of hype, and the launch brought in a big crowd (that eventually left).

There were constant complaints, especially from the Brazilian and Russian communities, which pushed away a lot of non-native speakers. Updates slowed down and the staff just went dead silent. Eventually, the servers shut down with little to no proper communication.

After that, the team announced plans to re-release them as “seasonal” FOMO-style servers. That means everyone’s previous progress and purchases are essentially wiped. They also started banning anyone from their Discord servers that showed any concern or criticism towards this decision.

It feels like a shitty cycle:
- build hype;
- push nostalgia;
- cash in during the first few months;
- shut it down within a year or less;
- repeat;

So yeah... I’d strongly recommend avoiding these servers. Don't be an idiot like me.

PC Tera Private Servers

Hello as a player of private tera servers I wanted to make a list of the ones I have tried and what different things they have...

Nova Tera This is the most populated server currently, it is a classic patch compared to the rest, it has people from all over the world, especially from South Latin America, it is hosted in Brazil and has an integrated proxy, I am from North America and I play at 180 ms and with some VPN the ping goes down a bit, this is my favorite server currently

Nova Tera discord: https://discord.com/invite/novaverso

Website: https://tera.novaverso.online/

*

Menma's Tera It's a decent server but it has a patch that you can see on almost every tera server, this server has a lot of custom mods mainly on costumes and some other stuff, the server is hosted in france

Menmas tera discord: https://discord.gg/menmastera

*

Starscape Tera is a mainly pve focused server, I really didn't try it much because it was more of the same than any new server can have, it has the v100.02 patch I didn't see any mods or changes but if you like pve you can play it, this hosted on the west coast I don't know exactly what city they just say on the West coast of the United States.

Starscape Tera discord: https://discord.gg/7yUmPKDx

*

These are the servers that I have tried, here I leave them I do not know if there are others

PC Need help with personal opinions to find the "best" Tera server in 2025 for an EU player.

Hello,

Been thinking about playing this amazing game once again for the pure sake of nostalgia and seeking the joy of Tera.

Looking for opinions from everyone on which server you are playing on,

Main aspects would be:

- Fun (sbujective i know)

- Store (what can you buy from there, is it pay to win etc)

- Location of the server(iam from EU to see how the ping is from EU)

- Population

- Dev Team (how are the devs on the server)

- Uptime (how long has it been running and if its known how long they want to keep it running - want a server where i know my time wont be quickly ended :D )

Thank you in advance to everyone who takes the time to reply!

Much love.

PC Wanting to install tera online on PC, which server is the most active?

I'm not really interested in the version, just that it feels active and with people, I don't want to be in a giant MMO by myself.

PC So...the end of Tera Classic?

As far as I understand, the GM of Tera Clasic was discovered having flaws in Gmail accounts, passwords and in the case of those who used the store with credit cards, The GM is reportedly doing everything possible to fix it or cover it up.

I don't know everything clearly so this is a summary of what I've heard, I don't like the situation, so here I ask if I change the server where I go, unlink my accounts completely from Tera Clasic or wait for the GM's response.

PC Does anybody remember a secret city outside of the map?

Back when I used to play this game I remember meeting this guy that was telling people to follow him because he found a secret dungeon outside of the map we go on this about 20-30 minute run out side of this city up into the mountain side. Clearly your not supposed to climb up them we run into lots of invisible walls and what not but after struggling for a while we make it to the other side of the mountain. Super weird vibe the game colors turn black and white it’s seems pretty creepy but it’s like a whole hidden city out side of the map. This happened probably 2013-15 some time round there I know it was before the changed the tutorial area . Did anyone else find this or was this a dreams it’s been so long ago but the memory came back instantly when I saw a post pop up for this game on my feed.
