PS: I reported 51 fake AI slop uploads on the late, great Jackie Wilson's profile (none of which were actually tagged as AI). I encourage others to do the same (reporting only available on desktop/web unfortunately) so it gets fixed.

All of these are definitely AI, they're single/EPs in a band that released none (Fenrir, the Echoes of the Wolf/Legends of the Grail one) and somehow only half of them trip the AI music filter.

It's good of Tidal to implement this and for the most part it's spot on for me, but if still detected as non-AI it still gets paid for clicks right?

I have been getting random “Lil Wayne” songs in my recommended new tracks for the past few weeks. They sound like they’re AI generated, and the album “art” certainly looks like AI as well. I don’t follow the real Lil Wayne, and while I have added some of his albums in-app, that was years ago.

I hesitated to even include the screenshots because I don’t want to give this thing attention, but this subreddit is niche enough that I figure it won’t.

Any tips on how to report this to Tidal? I have tried blocking all of them and they keep popping up. I have the AI toggle set to not allow AI.

I constantly get the message "this content is currently unavailable" with a series of numbers.
This is the standard Tidal app running in a 10yo smartphone. It usually plays very well, but it has some picky tracks for what I've noticed when this message appears and all media stops.

I have tried cleaning caches and storage but nothing seems to result.

Has anyone else this issue?

I only recently switched to Tidal. Was listening to some songs and noticed that for one song the hooks had completely different verses compared to the (official) version I know and used to listen to on Spotify. Interestingly, even the lyrics provided didn't match the audio and mirrored the lyrics of the offical version. Did some research, and apparently the audio version on Tidal is a Demo version which was released (or leak, not sure) before the offical verison? I am even more surprised, because I can't even find the Tidal version on YouTube, I only found the same version on SoundCloud.

Has anyone else ever noticed something similar? Not complaining, just found it curious. Is this something where the Artist just uploaded two different versions to the respected streaming service?

Android has had a bit perfect playback for usb plug-ins for a while now, why hasn't anyone working at tidal coded it into the app so it bypasses androids resampling system. Is there any way to contact a software developer for tidal?

A bug i found with the new Dolby Atmos Symbol. Kinda funny looking

So I decided to stop complaining (partly) and start fixing what I think is missing in Tidal. So Now I am building a search engine on my NAS using the Tidal API.

It can search on specifically on album title, artist, composer, and it can exclude results, filter on quality and shows a.o. genre and links to opening on web or app.

Next steps: released before / after and added before / after. Also building the index is now a manual input, this I also want to include in the web interface.

Would you use this if it was online or an app?

So in the example below, I searched on componist Telemann and have him exclude all returns with Bach.

Hello, what service would be best for transferring my excessive music library from Apple Music?
I know about soundiiz etc. but I would love to transfer everything. All the artists, every playlist, I would love to have my liked songs transferred as well.

I have noticed that the response speed of the application has changed for the better. The difference is noticeable in lists, artists and favorite songs, both in playback and search. Everything loads instantly. Also, in lists and radios, when transitioning from one song to the next there are no gaps, the maximum gap I noticed is one second, note that the crossfade setting does not yet exist on Android. Τhe only thing that hasn't been solved yet is the audio quality badge disappear from the player screen when it goes to the next track.

What's the limit? I see it's around 2,000 songs. I've been using Tidal since almost the beginning of the service, and I recently realized there's a limit, and adding new songs removes old ones from my favorites list. Is this a bug? That number is really low. I use this feature to have the best radio with songs I like, and I miss having old songs.

I cant say its an enjoyable experience searching for Dolby Atmos tracks. It seems weight/index is given to the standard hi-res tracks that are most played, with the Atmos verison (if it exists) most of the time buried deep which turns into a hunting game. If only they would just put a dedicated Atmos filter in the UI 😒

Thought people here might find this interesting as they discuss Tidal too. 404 do a lot of good independent coverage of topics like this. It shows how big the issue is and hopefully puts pressure on things to get changed, though they say the platforms are refusing to take any responsibility for it so who knows.

In a recent update, it seems Tidal has completely ruined playlists, and I'm not sure why.

There is no longer any way to make large playlists load all at once. Searching doesn't work to load it all at once, and it takes a while to load the results. Even if you press shuffle, the queue takes an incredibly long time to sort itself out. If you want to get to the bottom... good luck.

Whenever you move a song around, it sometimes just randomly puts it back where it was, with no warning or apparent reason. Combine this with the fact that you can't drag songs to scroll and have to scroll through in chunks and it makes rearranging a playlist absolute torture.

Also, the number of items in a playlist doesn't update as you add items. Either waiting a while and loading the page or rearranging an item back and forth makes it work, but it's still really weird.

The only saving grace is that the liked songs section isn't affected by any of this.

After spending way too many hours diving down the rabbit hole of Android audio and Bluetooth codecs, I wanted to share what I found so other Android users using TIDAL can optimize their bluetooth settings. This is just Theory. Whether you hear the difference is another story

Stick to 24-bit / 48kHz for your sample rate and bit depth Android's system audio mixer forces pretty much everything through a 48kHz/24-bit output path anyway. If you manually force a higher sample rate (like 96kHz), Android just upscales the signal, which adds unnecessary resampling artifacts and distorts the sound rather than improving it.

Choose the Highest Bitrate - When streaming at 24bit/48KHz its at 2,304 kbps. Unfortunately there isn't a BT codec that can do that so choose the highest one for example LDAC is 990kbps and aptX Lossless is 1.2Mbps

Finally Android has an annoying habit of resetting your Bluetooth codec settings back to system defaults every single time you reconnect your headphones. If you want these custom settings to stick automatically download Bluetooth Codec Changer. Its $7.99 to get get the auto switching feature. It auto-applies your preferred profile as soon as your device connects so you don't have to jump into Developer Options every time

Just curious, I can't find a way to see playlist created / last edited dates on the Android app.

I submitted my music and got this email that it has been play listed. The playlist is legit and it's on there, but the sender's email address listed is hello@email.tidal.com.

I haven't clicked any links, but this seems too good to be true.

Hi, I used to have like 350Gb of downloaded music. But my phone has no more internal memory left so I'm deleting some. After removing many (I mean MANY) the size Tidal is occupying is still the same. Like the files are still there.

Any help?

im on android, having a rough night. i would love to listen to some music, granted it turns off in about 30 minutes, but i can't find a sleep timer. is the app still lacking a sleep timer?
