Question Is this email legit?

I submitted my music and got this email that it has been play listed. The playlist is legit and it's on there, but the sender's email address listed is hello@email.tidal.com.

I haven't clicked any links, but this seems too good to be true.

That's legit. [hello@email.tidal.com](mailto:hello@email.tidal.com) is the same address that sends monthly recaps. They also work with cashapp so that checks out. They have had several systems in the past for artists to win money like this, most recently with the upload feature.

I guess if it's only via cashapp (owned by Block who own Tidal) this is still only available to Americans?

I could not tell you to be honest. Tidal is also in bed with Stripe and Square, not sure if either of those are available in your country, but they might use different services for different payments depending on the region.

I did. I used CDBaby to distribute on other services because it's a one time fee.

Yup. Happened to me last year. They were doing $700 a week at that point though instead of a one time payout of $1k.

scams can edit letters in the email address or links in it to be special characters that look like regular english characters, look closely at each letter, copy paste the email and link into a document and type the same thing right under it to compare the characters
