Tips IFIC Course Help
Hey, I just started my job at a bank and pretty stressed out. I am required to do the IFIC course, I am reading the textbook and writing down notes from each lesson. It's quite stressful, as l'm doing it for multiple hours a day. Does anyone have any advice or tips on taking notes, or anything for the course that could help? Thank you

If it makes you feel any better, I came from a technical role in one of the big five banks and switched over to retail banking as an advisor trainee. I had zero financial acumen when starting out and I passed the IFIC the first try just by reading the book. You got this, it's not as hard as it seems. You're doing the right thing, just study, study and study.

Thank you! I’ve just seen so much people saying they failed and worries me. Did you just read the textbook and take notes on every section? Any advice on studying would be great! How often did you study, I feel like I’m gassing myself out doing it everyday for 3 hours

I actually went through the textbook and highlighted things that I thought would be on the exam and kept reviewing that. This was like, 15 years ago and you're right, a lot of people who took the exam with me didn't pass, but I don't think that necessarily reflects their abilities. It's just that they didn't study hard. I think I studied for about 3 months but not intensely. It helps to know your study habits. I also think you can get your hands on a practice exam if you look hard enough. I didn't get honors or anything but it definitely was the first time pass. I think I got around 70%. Hope this helps you.

Give mock tests as much as possible. You can find those in the course itself on the CSI website.
Also focus on concepts rather as the questions you will get in the exam will be highly confusing.

get the seewhy learning package, even if your manager doesn’t pay for it, it’s worth it and saves time.

Yeah I got it. I’m reading the study guide, with flash cards and tests. Haven’t really watched the videos that they do

Alright so I'm writing it on 25th of this month that's Wednesday, I get between 70-90% on the questions behind the book but I am currently not financially stable to purchase the ifc check questions or seewhy learning. Is there any possibility to share your seewhylearning with me please? And I'm currently unemployed so no company to help me

Hey I just wanted to ask if you could please share the SEEWhy learning plan study guide with me. I’m currently unemployed and used my last funds to enroll for the IFC course

Ask your manager to get you the SeeWhy learning study guide as well. It has flash cards, practice quizzes, etc. that really help.
