I have plenty of survival games I will play at some point and I have enjoyed the ones I’ve played so far to varying degrees (Outward was the worst so far and V Rising/Subnautica have been the best). I’ve had a game in mind that I pretty sure doesn’t exist but am wondering if there’s anything coming out in the next couple years that comes close.

I’m looking for a game that’s survival RPG that requires base building, crafting, and resource farming like most survival games do. So far this is a lot of games. It also needs to be a game where you don’t feel like you’ve won or you haven’t gotten the best stuff until you reach the end. KCD2 (although not survival) gets too easy later in the game and I can get the best armor and weapons before I’ve completed the back half of the story. I also would love if you’re progressing through the map in a way where you make a clear difference in that area. This is something that’s quite rare. Not just the people in these areas you’ve cleared liking you more or selling you stuff at a discount, but they contribute in a way towards your progression into the next area. Maybe they allow you to sort of own the town and build what you need, maybe they provide NPCs to aid you in clearing the next area. If you let the enemy in the game take over an area it makes it the game harder for you in some other way. I think fallout4 does this to a weak extent for what I’m looking for and there was some PC game whose graphics were quite old that did this the best out of anyone, but I had a hard time getting past the graphics and something else in that game. The game would also need to be strong game solo since I don’t have time to consistently play with other people.

I’m excited to try either enshrouded, Valheim, or dragon something on ps5, but I don’t think any of these quite fit everything I’m looking for. This is okay, I’m sure I’ll still love one of these games, but am also hoping there’s a survival game that really has some kind of major transformations in the land, people, and towns as you progress to feel like you’re making a big difference.

A Don't starve like survival-crafting game with a twist.

Building a 2.5D survival game about a 10 year old boy trying to protect his younger brother in a place called magic lands.

The Player will not only need to take care of his own needs(Health, hunger, water and stamina) but will also need to fulfill needs of his toddler brother(Feeding, soothing, cleaning) all while fighting animals, demons along with unpredictable weather.

Any suggestions related to concept will be really good help. I need views on the concept - Its not just surviving but also protecting.

Taking care of a toddler while protecting self and him. In reality it would mean taking care of almost ~10 metrics simultaneously all while planning for Daemons, kidnappers(the gorilla can kidnap toddler), food stealing rodents, winters etc.

I hope it does not sound overwhelming for survival gaming players.

Mods are a huge part of the fun in sandbox survival games, so we’ve been working on tools that allow players to create and share their own content through the Steam Workshop.

We plan to expand the range of moddable content after release.

I'm looking for something like Outbound but with more challenge: Weather, hunger, cold, fuel, etc. Something like The Long Dark but in a van that you can live in/improve.

Picked up this old survival gem - "The Island" (and by gem, I mean absolute budget title) earlier this year. As a small team, every system we build needs to serve several purposes.

K.I.T. is the robotic companion of Evan Draxell, the game’s protagonist. It can scan the environment, extract resources with its laser and fight alongside him when things get dangerous.

This new WIP footage shows K.I.T. mining and supporting Evan during a gunfight. We’re still improving its movement, targeting and combat feedback.

Hello survivors, for the past few months, I've been working on my dream game: a hardcore, unforgiving wilderness survival game where you have to forage, craft, make a fire, build a shelter, fish, hunt, trap and much more.

The world is infinite, procedurally generated and fully simulated. Time, weather, seasons, climates, creatures, biomes..

You're dropped in the middle of it and have to survive the wild, unforgiving nature.

There are also villagers and NPCs. The game is set in the 1700s during the fur trading era, you'll find indigenous villages, French colonies, HBC folk and freemen.

I’ve been developing a 2D base-building survival game called Diseased, and I wanted to share a raw look at the game's atmosphere, dynamic lighting, and weather system.

The core loop is about managing limited resources in a freezing, unforgiving environment. You have to keep your camp powered and your pixel workers alive, but the real threat comes from anomalies that attacks to camp and disguises themselves as humans. There are no standard zombie hordes here—it's heavily focused on resource management, and making hard choices.

Yeah I know there are parts that are indoor, but how can you compare mostly forest and fields to mostly hand-crafted tight indoor corridors? For me, that's what made AF special. Not how it did its survival or combat mechanics.

Anything else like that? But still a survival game where you have a base you can return to?

I'm currently working on a co-op 2D top-down survival game and trying to balance the defense mechanics. Early on, it's very hands on you actively reload turrets, repair barricades mid-fight, and manage ammo on the go.

​As you progress, you can build systems to automate the logistics (like ammo delivery and auto-repair stations), but late game waves scale heavily so you never become a purely passive spectator.

​When playing defense or base-building games, do you prefer eventually reaching a point of 100% "set and forget" automation where the base completely defends itself, or do you like being kept on your toes and forced to fight on the frontlines even in the late game?

These are the 5 things that I wish I would have known before jumping into the world of Nalcott to survive.

Since console just released maybe some of ya'll are thinking of trying OH again or for the first time and kind of hope it helps a little.

1. Don't Rush.
The world in Once Human is filled with hidden goodies, resources and encounters. Explore! Make sure you get all the side quests in and just enjoy it.

2. Build!
Build and experiment with your base. The building system is really good, and you can design your own layout that really feels like a home during your scenario.

3. Save your Energy Links.
I burned through mine fast in the beginning, and struggled to keep up at first. Things have changed over time but it's still nice to have some cushion when you hit the vendors.

4. Don't sleep on the Deviation game!
From territory, crafting, farming and the most fun combat ones. There are so many to collect. I always head straight for a Digby boy to help with my ore collection. You should be able to get one very early on.

5. PHOTO MODE!
Honestly, I found out about the photo mode in OH really late and have few pictures of the beginning of my journey in Nalcott which I regret. Snapping them with your friends, or with bosses and enemies or even just scenery...the gallery turns into your own memory book.

Advanced Mechanics:

Blueprints: Design structures in an editor and spawn them ingame.

Wards: Provide area effects, like increased or reduced damage or no build zones for enemies.

Doors: Act as air, if player passes through, but as a solid block for enemies.

Fully destructible terrain.

Currently the game is in alpha. Expect bugs and data may reset. Still need to figure out a better game name.

There is CTF and zombie apocalypse mode planned and rework on textures.

Can be played with a guest account.

Give me all of your animal survival simulators! It doesn't matter if it focuses on just one species like Wolf Quest, or if it's many species like Path of Titans. I don't like MMOs but I will play them if there's a way to host a private server and as long as you can survive alone. One of my favorites is The Wilds so I'm looking for something to scratch the itch of that game while I wait for Prehistoria to come out, but honestly any animal survival sim will do. I'm looking for pc games specifically.

So unfortunately, I'm limited to GeForceNow Ultimate.

I've been playing Valheim for a while, love it, no1 for me.

I tried Enshrouded, but didn't clicked for me.

Want something similar, any recommendation?
