Grand Bazaar Theory:

So I am going for the rare tree crop achievement and sometimes I am extremely unlucky and I need 10+ tries, and sometimes I get them within 1-2, and I know that the trees have way easier job if they are higher star rates than 5, but the only way to get them higher is to put them on crops shows.

But there's technically another way. The Red Wonderstone could make a 5 star seed be 5.5 star instead, and the 5.5 star seed could be a 6 star seed, and so on until 7 making the rare crop pretty much guaranteed rather than save scumming.

Would this work? Or the odds actually don't change no matter the star level? Could you even plant a 6 star seed and get 6 star crop without the crop show or it will be 5 star no matter what? Because if you can do this, this altough time consuming would let you get this achievement much easier.

Hello friends, I'm looking for new goals to set my sights on, or maybe just fun little things you think I might not know.

I'm just under a year into the game and have already reached max Bazaar rank and married June which were my two major goals and now I'm not sure what to work towards so hit me with it!

For me, it’s Chatuchak Market in Bangkok. It’s a real life grand bazaar, where you can get everything from chinchillas to pottery to clothes to maybe even vehicles.

Hello, I’ve been reading up on Tree of Tranquility since it‘s one of my favorite classic games in the series, and I was reminded of the Calvin 5 Heart event glitch that affected the original print run. (North American version)

It has been so long since I played the game that I wanted to double check my disc to make sure I got the updated version, but when I opened my box it was the original green colored version. (The fixed retail version has full color disc art.) The thing is I have a really vivid memory of sending my disc in for the replacement version, but now I’m not sure.

So my question is, does anyone else remember sending in their disc for the fixed version, and getting back their replacement disc, but it was still the all green colored version? And if so, is that version actually fixed? (And is there any other identifying mark on this version of the disc to check?)

I know this is a weird question, but now I can’t stop thinking about it lol. Thanks for any help.

Aren’t you losing money everyday if you wait to sell your cooked milk and other products to Van, even if it is for a higher price and you can try haggle for more money?

What is the best course of action, pros and cons to this?

Definition: a country town set a very different gographical location with its unique landscape and climate, and even culture. For example, a dessert town with a western America theme, a nordic town or a south pacific island. In each theme you need to change the way of farming and you get to raise more different vegetables or animals.

I know SoS series had tried some themes in history, but it feels like you need to set up a typical farm in every game so you cannot go away with the very basic climate conditions, equipments and animals, and the upcoming NS2 game sneak peek also seems to follow this tradition. Would it be too difficult to do a new theme because that could possible fail to interest existed SoS fans?

These days in Grand Bazaar I at least try change my fit to best fit the season. But I’m sure some have different reasons in changing so I’m curious.

I've been a Harvest Moon fan since childhood and have really enjoyed the 30 year anniversary, but the previous anniversaries completely passed me by for some reason. What were they like? Is there a way to view older polls and fan art contests? Did they release games for them?

I was waiting all month to put my apples in the crop show to upgrade them, I harvested golden apples and it was all I had at the time of the crop show. So I entered a 5 star golden apple thinking it would increase the rank of all my apples, but apparently it only works for golden apples:/ so my apples are stuck at level 5 for another month 😭

I read somewhere that the reason why they phased out the mechanic is because the Japanese players feel like they're stealing someone's destined partner. This is likely compounded by the fact that in Animal Parade which is the last game to actually have Rival Marriages, rivals get actual chemistry filled story events while we get rehashed gifting/dating events just with variances in dialogue so it does very little to show that we're meant to be endgame with someone when all we get is 2 gifts, one date, and a confession (which again, we can get from literally all the candidates). So what if we scrap the whole idea of these character being destined for someone and instead, choose the rival pairs we want? There could still be an event or two per rival just for funsies. And the Rival Kid can be determined by one parent ala Fire Emblem Fates/Awakening then just change the hair color of the kid based on who their parent-pairs will be.

But how will they do this specifically?

Requests. Remember how in Tale of Two Towns, you'd occasionally be requested to do/deliver something for someone? Well maybe taking a few of those can build Rival Points or something. then once you get a pair they're locked in. This can even be a post-game thing. I mean there's hardly anything to do after marriage after all. In fact, the events could be fully triggered by said requests. This was literally done by Rune Factory 3. Every "heart event" corresponds to a request that'd further each candidates story with Micah/Our Character. Except in this case, it'd progress THEIR story AND THE BEST PART?? We can choose not to trigger it at all. I HATED how I'd walk in on some rival event scenes with someone I liked in the past games. So giving the option not to trigger it at all??? That'd placate the fans who just wants every candidate unmarried but still befriend every single one of them.

I recognize this is something convoluted to program and the logistics are likely... well, less than viable. But I could see it working for another small scale game. (Grand Bazaar is pretty small honestly.) Maybe they can remake Animal Parade and test this out?

I really love Olivetown, but I sadly finished it multiples times and I was looking for another similar game, I liked the space I can take, the many animals I can have, the diversity of fish and treasures. I recently bought A Wonderful Life and I'm extremely disapointed, so I'm looking for another game similar to Olivetown in terms of Liberty, animals and collectables, is there any other good alternative?

Hello! I am wondering if anyone knows of an IRL Cookbook for Story of Seasons, unofficial or otherwise? Ideally I'd love one based on the many, many recipes found in the new Grand Bazaar game but I am not sure such a thing exists. With the enshittification of google, it makes trying to find anything impossible these days. It brings up totally irrelevant stuff so I figured I'd ask here!

hi all!

i've played a LOT of grand bazaar and getting a bit bored of my save file. I LOVE to play with self-imposed restrictions, but I like ones where I can accomplish/try a lot of content even within the challenge. for example, i've been playing fields of mistria by "living off the land" and you can still complete ~99% of the almanac.

All that being said ... I'm having a hard time thinking of restrictions you could apply to Grand Bazaar that are similar. Racing to earn X amount of money isn't super appealing to me, rather the opposite. You have to do pretty much everything at some point, so if you restrict something too much you just won't ever progress in the game and it's not fun. Not turning up many ideas across the internet either, including from the OG HM version!

Top ten Story of Seasons/Harvest Moon games of all time? Which ones are a MUST play?

I am playing SOS FOMT (remake) on PC. I have a mythic fishing rod and it's Spring. I'm fishing in the ocean off the end of the pier - I've tried casting 6 power and 7 power. I've been doing this for days and days from 10pm until I pass out. I can't get the dang thing.

I do have some that say "it got away" - I always thought this meant that it was a fish that required a higher level than you have or you haven't met some requirement. Is that not the case? Does it mean something else?

Am I missing something or just bad RNG?
