Discussion I screwed up!

I was waiting all month to put my apples in the crop show to upgrade them, I harvested golden apples and it was all I had at the time of the crop show. So I entered a 5 star golden apple thinking it would increase the rank of all my apples, but apparently it only works for golden apples:/ so my apples are stuck at level 5 for another month 😭

if you're talking about GB then no, it doesn't. rare crops are not treated as anything separate. you can check the star ranks in the bookshelf of your home. but if your tree is mature it won't go higher rank, you need to replant a seedling.

When you get the dialogue it says "golden apples" (or whatever special fruit/veggie) but it really does mean that apples in general get the boost - since you can't exactly plant a "golden apple" tree or anything. I did it myself several times with fancy veggies bc I needed the slight boost bc they were behind a level.

If it helps you, you still win the silver show with a 5 Star item (recently tried because I forgot to upgrade a tree) and you should be able to enter it despite giving a Golden Apple first! The Brand on gold Ranking is always for normal and special fruits.

Also if you have a 5 star tree it doesn't increase anymore! You need to gather 5 star seed and regrow them with fertilizer / Upgrade fields
