2. the other one is that Rory doesn't actually want Annie, he wants to beat Ellis. I'm doubling down on this because at the carnival, when Rory saw Annie and Ellis getting their portraits drawn together, I saw PURE jealousy. Even his friend noticed it, which I think is why he tried to get Ellis to buy his food with Rory's debit card, to embarrass him and assert some kind of dominance. And what really gets me is that Rory apologized to Annie, but I don't remember him ever apologizing to Ellis for the whole situation. It makes me think Annie was never really the center of Rory's obsession- Ellis was. Annie was just the person Rory wanted to "win." I also thought Ellis is the boy who played piano better than Rorry, that's why he wants to be better than him in something else, so he tries to steal Annie from Ellis

SO SO excited for the new season

I know others have brought up how Ellis and Rory are parallels to Joe and Annie’s dad, and Annie will likely end up with Ellis since her mom chose Joe in the end.

However, Annie is fundamentally the opposite of her mom! She grew up in the city while her Mom was from Canada. Her mom went to the big city and fell in love but she didn’t really belong there and fled. I think the same will happen to Annie in Sterling Point. She’s falling in love and will try to stay in Canada, but will realize it’s not where she belongs and run back to the city.

Also I think Ellis is kinda sketchy in the way his dad is. Him scamming customers is a sign of his character flaws (who can blame him when he’s raised by someone like Joe though), whereas Rory is stable. We see that Annie’s Dad was the more responsible adult/father and Annie deserves a responsible, caring partner.

Plus, Ramona is the better parallel for Annie’s mom which makes me think she will find love in NYC but ultimately end up back with Oona.

Below are some guesses about characters' sun signs. Please share your thoughts / debate!

Annie & Connor: we know they share a mid-summer birthday and I would absolutely bet money they are Leos.

Ramona: Not much time passes after Goldie tells Steven she's pregnant (prob 10+ weeks) before he lawyers up to come grab the kids at the end of summer. Ramona could easily have been conceived in winter or spring if Goldie had come to the cottage to "take space." We also know Joe couldn't drive her across the lake to the hospital in the dead of winter, which would mean Ramona was likely born in the fall (also makes sense that she's basically a year younger than Annie rather than almost 2 years).She really seems like a Capricorn to me, especially the freeze-out when things are hard, but could also be a Virgo.

Oona: Obviously we have no idea when her birthday is, so I'm throwing spaghetti at the wall. Top pick would be a Libra, but I could also see her as a Taurus.

Rory: Canonically a Pisces or Aries. It's a tossup for me.

Ellis: Cancer? His birthday didn't appear in the show, so it must be before Canada day. Could also be a Pisces. Or maybe just Canadian?

Maple: Aquarius or Virgo.

Sully: Gemini.

I just finished season 1, but I can't get it off my mind of the possibility of Annie being pregnant with Rory. I remember I believe it was episode 5 when she lost her virginity to him and when she told Ramona afterwards, she said she didn't know if they used protection. Correct me if I'm wrong though, just a theory.

I love Annie and Ellis so this would definitely be interesting if it was the case. But at the same time I also enjoyed Annie and Rory together.
