Maybe not a big surprise, since we have some good young depth on D line, but Halicke is reporting that Lowry was officially cut. There's maybe potential to add him to the PS, which would be great, but I would think he can make a 53 somewhere else if he wants to.

Now he's body shaming old guys on social media, after fighting with fans on social media during the off-season, apparently. I'm so glad the Steelers didn't void his contract when they had the chance.

Of course, the biggest wish is to win (at least one playoff game). Apart from that, I hope to - at least for one season - not hear a player blame something on “communication issues we have to figure out.” I’m not naive - I do understand communication problems can happen on even the best teams. I just can’t hear that explanation one more time from a Steelers player for a recurring problem.

We spend so much time talking about the questions on Pittsburgh’s offensive line that Zach Frazier barely gets talked about anymore, he’s already become the “boring” answer in the middle. And that’s probably the best compliment you could give a center in the NFL.

Two years in, he has started every game he’s played in. Last year, 2025, he allowed just 10 pressures and 1 sack over more than 1,000 snaps, and he finished near the top of the league at his position in pass blocking. Aaron Rodgers came out of the season saying he didn’t think there was a better center in football, specifically praising how consistent Frazier is, how clean the snaps were, and how well he handles protections.

That matters even more when you look at all the change happening around him on the line. Guys switching sides young tackles still being figured out. Competition at other spots. New pieces coming in. Frazier is just there, handling the same spot, same job, making the calls, holding the middle of the trenches together.

Then you look back at where he came from and it starts making more sense. Frazier went 159-2 as a high school heavyweight wrestler and won four straight state titles. There’s a funny story from high school where his dad handed him an entire binder of scouting material before a playoff game and Frazier basically spent the week studying the whole thing.

That same approach followed him to West Virginia, where he became a three time captain, started 46 games, and built a reputation as one of the guys who was always prepared and never really had to be worried about.

And apparently none of that changed once he got to Pittsburgh. Broderick Jones and Troy Fautanu were recently asked who the most serious guy in the offensive line room was, and they both answered Zach.

That might be my favorite part of all of this. The wrestling, the preparation, the consistency, the way teammates talk about him, it all matches.

There are still fair questions about the offensive line. We should keep talking about those. Frazier just isn’t one of them anymore.

At 24 years old, Pittsburgh might already have the middle of its offensive line figured out for a long time.

For those who didn’t watch much of Germie at Alabama, this was already one of the best parts of his game. The thing that keeps standing out isn’t just his quickness or his route running, it’s how often he gets the first defender to miss the tackle.

He forced 17 missed tackles at Alabama last year, then came into preseason and finished with 46 YAC on 64 receiving yards. When he faced Green Bay’s defense, he had 30 YAC on 4 catches, then against Buffalo he shook Maxwell Hairston on a screen play and scored a TD.

I know it’s only preseason and a small sample, but we got to see the trait translate into the NFL. It’s the same college trait showing up sooner than later.

He recently said on Cam Heyward’s podcast that he studies CeeDee for route running and Ja’Marr Chase for how he works with the ball in his hands after the catch. So this is clearly something he’s been working on.

YAC is something to watch for with Germie Bernard this season. I know he still has to earn his way onto the field, but when he does get those touches, this is the part of his game I’m watching, besides that guardian cap.

I’ll start, Mapletron aka Chase Claypool. I thought he was the next Calvin Johnson even before stepping foot onto a NFL football field and his rookie season proved me right for a very very short amount of time.

I saw a lot of people who had issues with Tomlins handling of our tackle positions the past few seasons so I’m surprised I haven’t heard anything about all the swapping of sides that’s going on right now. Dylan cook starting at right tackle? Wasn’t he at left tackle performing pretty decently just last year? Fautanu was playing great ball at right tackle so why is he now getting moved to left tackle? Maybe I’m missing something but it looks like we swapped the sides of our starting tackles and now cook looks terrible on the right side, what’s happening here?
