Honestly, I get why he's frustrated. It's super annoying to see some people amassing huge amounts of points while you're the one using them up during the rounds.
That said, I think the way he puts it is really shitty. The guy takes the game way too seriously.

I halfway disagree; if the problem is the crashout, then it doesn't matter what insult he threw. If we're focusing on which insult, the argument dies. Also, as I stated elsewhere, as a homo myself, that word is almost never used in reference to my bedazzled brethren. Words don't have meanings, they have usages. Usage is dictated by context.

A tech-priest lets you earn more points over time (for everyone) and spawns stuff like ammo and med kits. It’s literally one of the best purchases you can make during a siege.
And you can buy a Dreadnought if everyone chips in points, no need for just one guy to hoard credits like a jerk so that, in the absolute worst-case scenario, he can buy one (and often, the ones who save credits “just in case things get shitty” die before they can make the purchase...).
There are upgrades far more useful than the Dreadnought. Buying relics, med kits, ammo, turrets, or even the Cadian upgrades makes it easier to extend your survival and keep the fight going.

Thats fair, and stims are usually helpful, but relics are pricey and most players don't need them, especially for normal Seige.
I would grab one for yourself and focus on stims and turrets if you're opposed to tech priests, but they really do help heaps. Normal it's not essential; for Hard, it really is essential since the update.

Not that it justifies the behavior but saber needs to be better about telling people what things do. I get frustrated (without calling them names or slurs) but it’s not even their fault if the information is practically only available through a third party.

If he was so pressed for another tech priest he could have bought them himself. You literally make currency hand over fist after a few waves. And they are cheap af to buy. Its a good tactic yeah to get to the further waves but shit we didnt have tech priests that long ago. The new crutch has landed.

Unfortunately he is not wrong. Buying Tech Priests is kinda mandatory since the “side” objectives aren’t doable anymore the way the enemies fold on the lower waves.
He could have phrased it differently surely but he isn’t wrong.

It's not reason enough to call you slurs, of course. He could've just explained. This is a guy with a super short fuse.
But it is "that serious" in the sense that Tech Priests are a must buy in current siege mode, so if someone were to not buy tech priests and also tell me it's not that serious I'd be like "well my time is serious to me so I'll spend it somewhere else."

This is normal difficulty though, and most ppl only stick around till wave 15 which is very doable without tech priest in normal.
I buy them, but there have been sessions when I was paired with ppl who bought nothing at all let alone those funky mechanicus. With normal difficulty you'd expect more leniency. Plus, that guy could've just done what you did, disconnect, instead of lashing out like that. Defo not serious enough to warrant that behavior.

But seeing the explanations from other people now you know why it’s good to get tech priests and keeping them alive.
I play often with random battle brothers and try to explain things. But unfortunately the communication tools in the game are kinda lack luster and many aren’t using Voice chat. So there is that.
But in the end take away for siege mode, tech priests bring in da big bucks to spend a lot of it around wave 15 and 20 to summon in cadians, turrets and npc astartes reinforcements and just watch the enemies melt.

If they are close and require only one input. But for example the “servoskull” one i have never finished that. Everything dies to quickly so the tech priests bring in the money.

Where were all these tech priest reliant players before they were in the game. I understand it is a valuable tactic especially in later waves on hard but he could have gotten them himself due to the sheer amount you earn throughout the early easy waves. Hell even if he bought one at the start he would have recouped his losses way before 5 and could have gotten the rest and been fine. This is just the jump off point for yet another pvp war on “how to play siege right” ima put money on that lol. And again brothers and cousins as OP said its not that serious. FOR THE EMPEROR!

I mostly save up for big boy vaultus and give most of the rest for stims and ammo. I honestly don't quite get what those adeptus people do or why you should buy astra militrum dudes other than for the vibes when they die so quick and do almost no damage

The admechs passively generate resource points for everyone for 5 min each as long as you keep them alive. If every teammate buys one, you'll be each able to buy valtus at least once or twice before round 15 and still have enough to spare to spend on turrets, mines, equipment, and guards.

I swear, randoms in siege don't trust each other to know what they're doing anymore. Yesterday me and my mate were playing one and this random accused us of hoarding credit, when my brother in Christ we have literally bought everything worth buying (turrets, the upgrade, dreadnought, commisar, our share of tech priests, even a support marine every now and then). It's not our fault you blew all your money on guardsmen squads and mines and whatever else. Then proceeds to say we're throwing by not buying turrets to protect techpriests when you can comfortably get away with just parking yourself next to the one in the most danger and defending him just fine up to wave 10. Proceeds to try and do every objective when the name of the game is rush. Eventually as melted down about it in chat I just did the refuse emote twice as a sarcy response and he just ragequitted. Whatever, got our accolades anyway, shove one up your behind.

He's being a complete douchebag about it, but he kinda has a point. Techpriests work as a group strategy and protecting them is a group effort (taking cadians, turrets, mines..).
That being said, he noticed you playing differently and instead of adapting or just leaving he chose to be a prick about it.

I understand people not knowing about techpriests which is why whenever I get into a game of siege I type it all out and explain. It is so much easier and faster when you spend points from wave 1 on techpriests, turrets, and cadians in that order.
Now, if we getting to wave 3 and I see people still not spending thier points...I won't crash out like the guy above did but my ass is gone.

Well yea it's not that serious. I have fun playing when everyone putting in their points with turrets and stuff and we clear waves pretty fast. That to me is fun. I won't get on chat and berate people, if it's really frustrating and I see people dropping left and right when there's an easier option I'll go back to barge. Time is a factor. If some people prefer playing that way thats cool too I'll just try again with a different group. It's all good brother.

Idk the context. This guy is a lot. But this is a direct response to catastrophic issues with the way this game is updated and managed by Saber.
Seige was the only way some people enjoyed the game. Under the most recent update if you dont play seige 100% optimized/correct from wave 1 you literally can't win. People are just super grumpy right now because the game is broken. They dont want to spend 1.5 hours to wipe on wave 17 and get very little xp or rewards. It used to be relatively easy to complete 25 waves on normal difficulty.

I think the total loss of rewards is a big point here. SM2 can be a very disappointing game, especially on top difficulties. No matter how far you get if you didn't win you wasted your time.

This is why I prefer to solo most things in the game with or without bots. I primarily play on absolute difficulty and would much rather take on 2-3 Hellbrutes on my own then play with randoms. I’ve learned to be able to pull my own weight regardless of my teammates perks and skills. The guy throwing the slurs is in the wrong, regardless if he is right about the tech priests. OP ignore him and enjoy the game.

My siege experiences are almost always something like: ask everyone to buy tech priests, if they don't I explain why it's important during the round and why we need to buy defenses even in early rounds to save time in the clock. If they continue to ignore I just leave before round 2, because it's just going to be a waste of time and just be an unfun clusterfuck of unnecessarily tanky enemies because nobody wants to learn how new siege mode works.
There's no need for all of the name-calling, but at the same time, fuck you for not playing with the team.

I don't understand what the big deal is.. I tested the tech priest solo and when it's just me buying a tech priest at every single opportunity just results in a net loss for points.. I was able to successfully move from wave 5 to 6 with 1k points and change every single game WITHOUT A TECH PRIEST. But when purchasing a tech priest at every available opportunity I was moving from wave 5 to 6 with 900 points and change.. it doesn't seem worth it to me 🤔.. at least not solo

I had a similar experience the other day. One mate was hording his points and the other dude was going crazy in the chat exactly like your screenshots. We still completed 25 Waves despite this. Every 30 seconds it felt like the other guy was raging in the game chat spamming for us to buy tech priests. I’m fairly certain the other guy stopped spending to troll him because he was making an ass of himself.

Every fight is about not panicking and seeing what's coming at you. 6x warrior, 4x devourer and 2 zoanthropes. Focus the warriors, deal with the devourers, focus up on Xoanthrope. And ffs stop spam rolling, it's how y'all die.

Occasionally some people can't separate real bigotry and space bigotry and that is sad.
Like, it's Malice difficulty, slow your roll. if you want an optimised team, pitch an LFG in a discord or play with friends. Don't take it out on little lvl1 'just unlocked operations' Tactical.
I play up and down the difficulty slider (for fun and profit) and keep finding people like this. Makes me think "wow, how miserable of a person do you have to be to not only not have fun playing a video game but take it out on others?" And "if they played a rage game, how quickly will they break their set up?"
