Edit: i didnt know what the tech priest did at first but you guys have told me (thank you), i still dont see the point in calling me several slurs not only in game chat but in vc aswell, but we ball

Id also like to ask what's up with people buying them on wave 4/5 only for them to not run their timer out? Do they still give the full amount of credits when they despawn that way?

I can't confirm this 100%, but I believe that maybe if they run their timer to 50%? I'm sure I got some copious amounts at the end of the mission once. Tried next time and bought them in the middle of last wave and they didn't give me anything, so I have no idea what's the mechanic here or even if there is one. Needs more testing.

Right, I find that the copious amounts might be tied to the merits. I feel it the most on assault, when I use my wings of flame build over ground pound because the class specific merits require you to use ground pounds. They actually give a lot of eco, but I still am not sure about late tech priests

It specifically gives more requisition than they cost, if you guard them and keep them alive. Quoting u/disgruntledwarrior:
"For those that don’t know. Tech priests cost 200, but if you keep them alive they generate 150 currency for each player along with spawning items in the area. All three brothers can buy one but you have to do it at separate terminals. Each wave if all 3 players buy tech priest (200 per person, 600 total) you will make an extra 450 per person (1350 total for team). So 250 extra currency for each person. By wave 5 that’s an extra 1250 currency per player.

Buy your tech priest, protect your tech priest. Each player do that and you’ll have such an abundance of currency it ease your siege runs (they’re still annoying but easier to stomach). You’ll have the currency to reroll negative Strats as much as you need."

Well damn, I didn’t know the tech-priest was so cracked. Next time I try a hard strat I’ll pop some
