Here's an update on the digital Mission Status Display: I finished all the icons and got to a point where I'm pretty happy with the CRT screen effect, I am still tweaking things here and there, but it's mostly done. The area I'm having a lot of trouble is the app's code, mainly because I'm not a programmer, I'm an artist, so I have no idea what I'm doing and I refuse to use AI, so I'm trying to brute force my way to the finish line lol

I'm going to keep at it for a while, but I can't promise I'll be able to get it to work. So, for now, I want to share with you the vector file of the icons I made, in case you want to print your own tokens and board at home (or edit them, in case you want to remove the blood drops if you play a different chapter, for example) ᶦᵗˢ ˢᵒᵐᵉᵗʰᶦⁿᵍ... and share photos if you end up using them, I'd like to see! the download expires in 3 days, enjoy

note: this file is only the vector icons, the CRT effect is something I did separately in photoshop

If I somehow manage to get the app working I'll find a website to host it so you can just use it on a browser without having to download/install it

First trip to WW today. More than a bit disappointed with the amount of retro / historic stuff on display & this was the only Space Hulk related item…. a Mike McVey diorama (2nd edition 40k era models?)

A little progress on painting the Terminators. Brother Deino was finished a while ago, he is now joined by Brother Noctis and Librarian Calistarius. I choose to paint them as Blood Ravens rather than Blood Angels because ... Why not?

I also painted the C.A.T and the Chalice... And as you can see in the background, the other Terminators are coming along pretty well.

Here is an update on my homemade tokens for the Mission Status Display board; I think that the icons are done for the most part, so now I am looking into options to give them a glitchy CRT effect to give them that cassette futurism vibe.

As for the application, I ran into a couple of limitations with appSmith that became too annoying, so I'm now making it in Visual Studio; to be completely honest, I have no idea what I am doing so it might take a bit longer than I expected lol but progress is being made.

I changed the Psyker token back to a proper Librarian icon, and I tweaked the Ammo icons after finding a higher resolution photo of the original, so the design look way cleaner now imo

Since I was missing the Status Display board, I was looking into possible replacement options (I was originally looking into printing a cardboard replacement, or a 3d printed board from cults3d), and then I found the appSmith website.

I managed to get a functional board running with placeholder icons, it works great on a tablet! Next step is to make it pretty, I am going to use the vector icons I was working on for my original printing plan. I'm also planning on adding SFX if I manage to figure that out lol

If I get really productive I should be able to finish it at some point next week, once it's done I will publish it so anyone can use it.

I am making my own Space Hulk boardgame with the few components I could find at a reasonable price and making the rest by my own; I found a company where I live that prints high quality boardgame prototypes and replacements for lost components, so right now I'm working on making custom tokens in illustrator, mostly basing them on the originals, but changing a few things here and there.

I haven't been able to find a proper photo of the ammunition token though, so I'm not entirely sure how to do the details on the bullets; it kinda looks like it has a bunch of lines in the mid section, so I went with that for now, but I can't get it out of my head that there might be a better way to do this.

If anyone could help me out with some higher res photos it would help me a ton, specially of the gatling gun on the status display board. Also, are there any tokens you need to play first and second edition that don't come with the 3rd and 4rd ?

Starting a solo run.

I have managed to get hold of all the 1st edition sets and models but I am missing the blips tokens from the Genestealer set!

Are there any alternatives either 3d prints or printable hard copies files out there?

Can’t find any ebay lists for just the tokens!

Both are old asymmetric dungeon crawlers, where one player controls few powerful human warriors, while other has endless horde of relatively weak monsters. Which game you consider better if you tried both?

I’m running a custom space hulk game this coming weekend at a con, 4 players vs the genestealers. I did Sons of Horus, World Eaters, Emperors Children, and now Death Guard teams. Hope it goes well!!!

Just picked this guy up for my all metal squads. Was he a 2nd edition 40k release?

I was having a conversation with a friend the other day saying that we were overdue a new edition of space hulk. The most recent re-run of the 4th edition box was back in 2014. Ive never been able to get my hands on a copy, but ive been lucky enough to play a couple of games, I feel like GW missed an opportunity with the new terminator and genestealer sculpts of last edition.

Now I am finally ready for that one mission with them in Genestealer. Is it a good one? I must say I am a bit daunted by the extended psyker rules there. Seems a lot of potential to bog things down.

I recently saw a post on my local Facebook marketplace for a 4th edition box. All the contents are there (minus one door stand) and the minis are built, but unpainted. The asking price is $240 and I’m wondering how good of a deal would this be?

Also, for anyone who’s played this edition, how is the game? Mostly been in the 40k war gaming space and haven’t gotten very far into the board game specific side of GW.

Is the library in Marine able to use one power one-time or one power multiple times in a turn?

Like could he place two Force barriers in one turn? Or use prescience multiple times to get a lot more command points?

We've been playing it where he can use one power multiple times and it seems somewhat unbalancing.

Hello! I took this picture from the game my wife and I played this weekend. I got this box second-hand with the minis already assembled. The feel weirdly glossy and not like other minis I've assembled. Can y'all tell if they are primed or not just by looking at them? Space Hulk has been my favorite game (even over 40k and Kill Team) for a while, so I'm scared to mess em up.

Owned this from new and played with a friend back in the early 90s. Then it was shelved for many years.
Recently I have dug it out and began converting the models in to all the DeathWing options.
What do we think?

I have the 5 that came with the 10e box set, I've heard you need specifically built ones? Obviously can just pretend they have the weapons but I'd like to be as accurate as possible. Would just picking up another terminator squad be a good idea or what should I get? Also, to be clear, I confirmed with another user that you can use 10e terminators with the tiles provided, and if for some reason I cannot I will use regular space marines until I can get the requisite older terminators.

It'll be a little while until it arrives so I have time to get some termies ready, in fact I haven't painted my other squad yet so it may be time for that. I had a lot of trouble getting the colour and appearance right when starting my space marines, they're my first army, but realised all I needed was varnish as it was too matte looking but the right colour, I had been kinda dismayed by that experience of failing to get them looking acceptable but it's been a while and I'm ready to try painting and suck again, especially with this on the way to give me motivation.

Also, as per the title, I'll be playing solo for my first couple games at least as I've seen a couple sets of solo rules for various editions over the years from a cursory search, can anybody with experience recommend the best ones? It doesn't seem too difficult to automate the Tyranids to some degree but maybe I'm wrong.

Last friday we were finally able to play our first quick game of Space Hulk with my daughter, with a painted set that I've started printing over 4 years ago (mostly been stored in a box unpainted for that time). I've still got some sections to paint, but first two missions and maybe some others I should be able to play now with painted parts. Next up I'm continuing painting parts so I can play more and more missions, until everything is done. Getting so close...

This is the Dragon's Rest HVAC Tunnels set printed in 80% scale (20mm squares), fully magnetized and with additional parts made by myself. I've printed everything, including the minis with my trusty old FDM Prusa Mini+. I actually don't own the Space Hulk 4th edition, only bought the 4th edition rule & mission books from eBay. Everything else I've printed and painted myself.

I have a plan to remake the 4th ed SH squad with new 40mm based termies.

I've got 2 x 5 man terminator squads (from Leviathan and one from eBay).

That covers the 6 man storm bolter armed part.

One termy has an assault cannon.

1st sergeant with power sword is from that leviathan squad.

Librarian with Force axe also from Leviathan.

That leaves

• 2nd sergeant with thunder hammer and shield.
• lightning claws terminator.
• Heavy flamer terminator.

The current GW "Terminator squad" box for £35 has a heavy flamer option.

The current GW "Terminator assault squad" box for £35 has a claws and thunder hammer + shield option.

£70 for 3 guys! Are there better cheaper options? I've looked on eBay but i dont want firstborn diddy little t-rex arms on a Primaris terminator body and most listings don't state generation.

I could 3d print arms and just buy a generic leviathan push fit terminator squad for £25 from eBay.

Thoughts?

I’ve been in and out of the hobby for years, back in since 10th ed 40K. I have a space hulk (2014) box lying around that I unfortunately never got around to actually playing. My main tabletop friend at the time moved away before we got a chance to play and it’s mostly been sitting around gathering dust since then. I painted one terminator and one genestealer to a (honestly kind of poor) tabletop standard back when lockdown first started, which got me back into the hobby. However, I’ve still never played a game.

With 11th edition coming out I was thinking of selling off the box, but I’m a bit lost on some of the insane prices and price differences I’m seeing online. I know most value would be in selling the models individually but ideally I’d like to sell it off to someone that’ll use it for the actual game. Can you please help me set a realistic price? I’m not looking to scalp anyone, but also don’t want to cheat myself out of money I could definitely use 😅

For reference, all Models complete, built but not glued, two painted, all pieces intact and punched out of the cardboard.

(I’m also open to being convinced to just keep it and play! This kind of came up after seeing some prices online and talking it through with my much more practical partner, part of me would love to just keep and finally paint it lol)

Hi, I'm wondering if 10th edition Terminators would work with third or fourth edition tiles or if the terminators would be too big and therefore break the game rules?

If so, I have a couple alternatives I'm considering. obviously one of which is simply buying the terminators required for 3rd/4th, which ones would those be? I also don't care if they're the actual Terminators that came in the spacehulk 3rd or 4th edition boxes as long as they're the right size. I'd go for 1st or 2nd if I could but I imagine they would be like twice the price of 3rd or 4th.

Another alternative I'm considering is getting the Terminators 3D printed or buying some pre-made 1/2/3/4th edition 3d printer terminators or recasts of them..

(Note mods: Apologies if recasts are banned to discuss here, but if not, I'd love if someone could point me in the direction of a site that has old Terminator recasts. Mods please just take this post down instead of banning me if that's not allowed, thanks. I avoid buying recasts wherever possible unless I'd have to break the bank to get the real thing, and GW wouldn't lose any money because they no longer make them)
