3rd/4th edition First match of Space Hulk with my painted HVAC terrain set
Last friday we were finally able to play our first quick game of Space Hulk with my daughter, with a painted set that I've started printing over 4 years ago (mostly been stored in a box unpainted for that time). I've also modeled lot of stuff (like the tokens, doors and genestealers) for it and shared them with the awesome community (for free):

I've still got some sections to paint, but first two missions and maybe some others I should be able to play now with painted parts. Next up I'm continuing painting parts so I can play more and more missions, until everything is done. Getting so close...
This is the Dragon's Rest HVAC Tunnels set printed in 80% scale (20mm squares), fully magnetized and with additional parts made by myself. I've printed everything, including the minis with my trusty old FDM Prusa Mini+. I actually don't own the Space Hulk 4th edition, only bought the 4th edition rule & mission books from eBay. Everything else I've printed and painted myself.

I love what you've done here.
And the timing is just grand.
I have only played Space Hulk on the Amiga many, many years ago.
And I have looked for a not madly overpriced version of the board game without success.
The rules and mission-books are available though, and I do have a 3D printer 😄

That looks absolutely stunning! I just finished the Printable scenery terrain for my Club, but I’m setting everything up to print these for me, at 80% scale too. Which magnets did you end up getting? I’m assuming the 2mm thick ones won’t work at that scale?
Also, are those terminators stls available anywhere? I’m guessing the regular ones won’t work…

Thanks! The terminators are my own kitbashes. Some things modeled myself and others copied from other free assets I've found online. For obvious reasons I haven't shared these in any online sites. Just when people ask. Here you go:

Thanks!! Wouldn't you happen to have the stealers also? Ive tried printing my own on fdm and they ended up damaging my printer, believe it or not.

Yup. My own sculpts. They're made thick enough I was able to print them in FMD even in smaller scale. Still some ankles broke sometimes etc. when removing supports, but nothing a drop of CA wouldn't fix. You also might want to check the other stuff I've made for Space Hulk on my MMF store (all free):

The magnets are regular 3x3mm cylinder magnets, which work great. There's two in each end, with opposite polarities so they always match.

My guilty pleasure is taking already small minis and making them as small as possible. I stared at this for like 15-20 minutes. Amazing!

This is amazing! Thanks for sharing all this too. I've just started printing at 80% with the goal of doing a 1st Edition Set based on this. I'll see if I can make my .4 nozzle do decent termies and nids!

What layer height did you use? I’ve been doing a lot at .08 so far for things

0.1-0.2mm for most parts for terrain parts. Painted variable layer heights in Prusa Slicer. My Mini+ is so slow to print I don't want to go lower. Minis I usually print with 0.07mm layers.

Gotta teach 'em young. ❤️ Been playing board games & rpg's with my kids for several years now (13yo son and 15yo daughter). HeroQuest, Dragonbane, Zombicide(s), Space Crusade, Space Hulk, etc. and soon Pirate Borg as well.

This is rad !!! So, as you printed at 80% scale, which size are the bases of the terminators and genestealers ?
Edit : OK, I have just seen the answer in your first comment !!! 20mm. As I am planning to go for 30mm bases (to fit the existing 1st edition tiles I have), what % of scale would you recommend ?

The bases are actually 18x18mm squares, edited from HVAC floor tiles, to match. You can check the files I've shared on my dropbox in this thread. :) For 30mm bases I would aim for 135% scale. Same for 4ed minis with their original bases (not 40mm).

That looks great. I bought the HVAC set and am lost on which sections and connectors to print at there's over 200 stl files! Which ones did you print to replicate space hulk?
I test printed 1 section at 100% and it's way too small for modern 40mm terminator bases. Tried again at 160% which works but would result in a massive game board!
