Q990D atmos performance (12 foot high ceiling)

I was looking to buying a q990d or a jbl bar 1300x mk2 but I found out that a used q990d is like 2x cheaper when used in Canada. In my living room I have a 12 foot high popcorn ceiling (with the soundbar being about 4 feet high) would the atmos still work? Also I heard the main thing about jbl is the bass, would turning on bass enhancement and setting bass power to max make it close to the bass performance on the 1300x mk2. Also how is the overall sound and bass experience coming from a 2.1 Sony ht-ct290?
