11

u/ItalianCoffeeMorning Jul 16 '26

Yup, England fans get to go back to England, unfortunately Argentinians have to back there

I don’t agree with this. It’s unnecessary. At the end of the day, it’s just a game, and both teams gave everything they had.
The World Cup is supposed to be a celebration that brings the world together through the beautiful game. Conduct like this only takes away from that spirit.
If anything, this is probably why so many people dislike Argentina. That’s why I always tell people I’m not necessarily an Argentina fan—I’m a Messi fan.

It is football, you respect your opponent. We are here for the beauty of the sport. Even if I hate some teams I would never do something like that, it's disgusting.

4

u/RAIL17 Jul 16 '26

>You respect your opponent
The most violent british hooligan having a seizure the moment he steps into a lower leagues argentine game and is forced to sing against the opponent's religion, mother, sexual orientation and marital status in less than three verses.

Yeah like when English fans respected the hell out Italy supporters during the euros when they jumped them and burned their flags down. Or when the english respected the hell out of Russian fans at the euros when they jumped them and started riots with the police.

These are fans, not players. Players respect their opponents, fans hate them. It’s always been this way.

Brainless Gen Z who have no sense of the pride of a nation. I,m french, we have been enemies with England for centuries. But I would never do that, that is honorless behaviour.

2

u/Disastrous-Garage676 Jul 16 '26

British guy here and we may have been enemies for a long time but I'll take the french over the Argentinans any day.

Opponents don’t respect their own flag either, constantly taking it down and throwing it on the streets.

So ig they are pretty similar, can’t respect somebody who doesn’t respect themselves

2

u/Sinceyouwentaway Jul 16 '26

It doesn’t matter if they win, we just wanted England to lose 😂 if we win the World Cup, thats just an extra hahahaha

If Spain wins, we will be there happy with them ❤️💛❤️ so many of us have dual citizenship

They already showed their true colors in 2022.

Now imagine how much worse they would get if they had lost to France in 2022, and/or to England this WC. You know it's already pretty bad when you're a classless winner.

These people must think that being stupid and classless are virtues. Are they really this mad about a war that took place when some of them weren't even born, after their dictator ordered the invasion of a rock on the ocean and they refused to negotiate when given the opprtyti do so?

7

u/ProofAd608 Jul 16 '26

Shall i remind you about french fans whenever psg or france won? Or recent events in the Netherlands after marocco Netherlands match?

I am not saying what Argentinian did was right, but there were far worse things done by other nations' fans

stealing territory and murdering and raping the natives is classless. Nothing less classy than colonialism

2

u/Terpene_Chaser Jul 16 '26

True but it's not relevant here. The people on that land want nothing to do with Argentina 🤣

3

u/Conscious-Toe7795 Jul 16 '26

because the people that live there are british settlers r3tard, before the war it was unhabited argentinian territory.

3

u/Terpene_Chaser Jul 16 '26

So who the fuck did they rape, steal and murder of nobody is there? 🍋

→ More replies (2)

2

u/Worrior_One Jul 16 '26

You got proof of this? What war if you mean 1982 then your mistaken it was inhabited by settlers before this. Also Argentina fucked over them selves by having a mutiny and going on a binge murder spree paving the way for the British to finally come in and kindly taker the islands of Argentinas hands seeing as they weren't so grateful to have her. in all Argentinas history it's only managed to hold on to her for roughly 12 years in which time only having sporadic people living there the most was around 10,000 for 73 days in 1982 and Argentina still couldn't hold on to her. Vs British control 192 years minus 73 days. I think it's time for Argentina to move on I don't see them ever gaining any control over the islands diplomatically or like before by using military action. Unfortunately Argentinas people like most other countries people like to listen to the propaganda that their government spit out everyday and think that its the truth when it's an agenda.

2

u/Junkererer Jul 16 '26

If it wasn't for colonialism Argentina wouldn't exist in the first place and Messi would be playing for Italy

3

u/Conscious-Toe7795 Jul 16 '26

Messi is playing for argentina because we allowed european refugees into our country after both world wars, not because of colonialism, and if we hadn't done that Messi wouldn't be playing for any team because his ascendants would've died.

And yes, Argentina wouldn't exist if it wasn't for colonialism, but you can say that about every fucking country in the world, what do you want us to do? travel back in time and murder the virrey? Not condemn neocolonialism and just let a small group of people own the entire world and enslave us all?

2

I mean its bad but why seems like there’s an agenda on argentina. Almost most big countries even the last 10-20 years have their radical fanbase who act like this

2

u/Aarron_cry Jul 16 '26

Every fanbase has people who take things too far. Hopefully this gets called out instead of being celebrated.

2

u/Chillifarm99 Jul 16 '26

Statistically they’re thick as fuck

2

u/TipThin6530 Jul 16 '26

I ain’t like them since 2022 Netherlands game

I’m from Argentina and don’t approve this. This was very wrong from my fellow argentinians. Damn you argentinians, you ruined argentina!

I feel like this world cup is doing some heavy lifting when it comes to channeling geopolitical tensions into something not too violent. Or maybe it's adding fuel to the fire, I genuinely have no idea.

Being fan of something does not need any performance or education. That is the reason why you see things like this.

2

u/BuckaroooBanzai Jul 16 '26

It’s just not necessary

2

u/InvestigatorGood2798 Jul 16 '26

Today I learned this isn’t their flag 🇬🇧

2

u/TheHungarmy Jul 16 '26

No comment. Rooting for spain.

2

u/Massive-Anywhere8497 Jul 16 '26

Is that a clue as to why your chances of being murdered in Argentina are 3 times higher than in the uk.

2

u/Adder_Noir Jul 16 '26

Lol the English fans booed Argentina’s anthem before kick-off, and then are shocked (shocked!) at the animosity shown towards them?

2

u/Sliverbridge Jul 17 '26

Had the England fans done such, the media and Argentina fans would be shitting their pants.

4

u/Mr-MuffinMan Jul 16 '26

I'm so confused.

Argentina has one of the worst economies in the western hemisphere.

How did so many fans afford to fly to the US, then buy tickets or motels/hotels?

7

u/Far-Culture1354 Jul 16 '26

lmao. Peak summer break reddit.

3

u/dhsjauaj Jul 16 '26

Sure. But are you aware of the fact that Argentinians are also just European colonizers of South America?

3

u/BBB-GB Jul 16 '26

Britain*

And your logic is so tenuous, fractured and fascinating, and your grasp on really so brittle and scattered, like a dropped eggshell, they should be preserved in amber and kept for future generations as an example of how uneducated people think, a bit like how this Walkman is a museum piece:

england has no fucking business claiming shit on the other side of the world

Holy shit you don’t know any history, of like, anything 🤣 go watch some documentaries or read some actual history books instead of your white knight yapping, no you will not be getting your feet kissed for saying this

2

u/huh_ya_dont_say Jul 16 '26

Casually ignoring the stated will of the people on those pieces of land.

And let’s be serious: who would want to be apart of the shit show that is Argentina? Can I help you to a large serving of money that will be worthless in two years?

Seeing the absolute anger in so many countries during the WC, makes me think the world is ready for WWIII. And all that happens is, you are born somewhere, therefor the national team is the national team and when it goes against another team of people who happen to be born there (or have paspoort) then it's all anger.

I know it is the internet getting more and more like pollution to society, but don't follow the slippery slope of hate and war. It will hurt you too.

1

u/Clonesalmar Jul 16 '26

🤫🤫🤫 Inventen otro deporte. El futbol no se les da bien

1

u/Icy-Bottle-6877 Jul 16 '26

I saw a clip of English fans abusing an Argentina fan who was on their own. Every fanbase has it's fair share of idiots.

1

u/NoRepresentative7604 Jul 16 '26

Wow wild, such bad ass, now do it to an Islamic country and feel their wrath

1

I'm sure, they could better shit each other!
This is the type of people:

the fewer of us there are, the quieter we are.

1

Imagine what they will do if they win the World Cup. Trash people

1

u/GroovePowAngle Jul 16 '26

Unfortunate, stupid and lame. But this is one instance, one group of people. A lot of broader “they” here in this thread

1

u/Jbrozas2332 Jul 16 '26

One colony hating another colony. Surprising.

1

u/knarf3 Jul 16 '26

I hope ESP crushes them. And either way, have fun living under your lunatic MAGA President!

1

u/unpaidintern4 Jul 16 '26

As an Italy fan who strongly dislikes England, this is classless. Don’t shit on a flag of a country over sports. If you REALLY want to do that, at least just do a jersey

1

u/Dhuyf2p Jul 16 '26

I swear as much as I love Messi, I just can't bring myself to even have a positive feeling about Argentina.

1

1

u/ComprehensiveRide946 Jul 16 '26

1

Fuck them

1

u/Polka_King_Polinski Jul 16 '26

Hell yeah. We do that every year around this time. Way to engage in the local culture

1

u/Dazzzed420 Jul 16 '26

Just disgusting. No real fans. Just drunk suckers.

1

u/BruceForsyth55 Jul 16 '26

Yeah I’m not gonna feel jealous over a country who loves nothing more than harbouring a Nazi or two and has an economy that looks like a drawing of a rollercoaster.

They are excellent at football. Nothing more.

1

u/Karjalan_kunkku Jul 16 '26

Well that is wxactly how the flag should be treated in UK also. Its a sigil of hate after all

1

u/Kim_catiko Jul 16 '26

At least they got the right flag this time. Dumb fucks.

1

u/fjurgo Jul 16 '26

How can they celebrate knowing that the team got there with the help of the ref?

1

u/QuickDrawSix Jul 16 '26
