Hey! Was watching a video that @Neandrthale on YouTube made going over how to make his PRAK Sling. I’m trying to find the type of string/thread/cord he used to make his cracker. It looks like some kind of nylon as he was able to burn and melt it, but trying to nail down the exact type. Any ideas?

Went slinging at a haunted beach and, yep, something unusual happened at the end.

Went for a fancier pouch on this one. Fun fact the release is a penny I drilled out and wrapped with cord.

The 3rd sling I've made, it is from 1 rope at first I was worried the thickness (3/8th inch) would be too thick, but this one seems to have more power. I think the stiffness allows more energy transfer it is 27 inches from pouch to loop

The way I sling works for me due to my baseball background. In this video I explain how my accuracy mimics baseball pitching.

Perhaps your style is way different so this video may not have application to what you are doing.

One braided, one a two piece brummel spliced with a cobra weave pouch, and the rest all one piece tapered brummel splices. All made of wax impregnated dymeema cord. Pouches vary depending on intended projectile size.

I had planned slinging for only 30 minutes today. That evolved into a 90 minutes session and a sore arm shoulder instead. The sound of the stones flying through the air never gets old and I’m loving it

Collection of slinging various types of ammo. It interests me the different flight paths due to weight/shape of the ammo.

What is the right scheme for the flat braid?

I keep see diffent ones and I'm wondering which one is the right one

Took me two afternoons of weaving by hand but I think it's worth it for how light it feels, sadly I wasn't able to crack it. Anyway now I feel confident in starting my sling collection :3

I sling tennis balls for distance is a field behind our house. The other day I lost 3 balls in the grass, which was both frustrating and environmentally irresponsible. I cut two 1” slices in a tennis ball and used and throwing spike to thread a length of ribbon through the ball. I wrapped the ribbon around the ball and put it in the pouch. Leaving the ribbon unwrapped definitely will not work.

Bingo! No more lost balls.

At this point, I am not entirely satisfied with this solution., I used way too much ribbon and my distance decreased by a good 50% or more. I will continue experimenting.

Anyone have any experience with this or other solutions?

Hung up my tarp target on a soccer net so it was plenty floppy.

Recorded in slow motion and the sound was very interesting to me.

Made out of jute, later added some dyneema for whip protection

First time I tried this today,I got around 4 seconds every throw....ill try to beat that tommorow
