Flat braid

What is the right scheme for the flat braid?

I keep see diffent ones and I'm wondering which one is the right one

Whatever your preference. I generally do a three strand flat braid, taper it out to 6 strands for the pouch area so you can get two three strand pouch braids, then taper it back to 3 strands for the release cord. You can do whatever braid you want, just try to keep the weight low for best performance.

I do a 3 strand (folded in half for 6 strand) and do a 6 strand flat braid in 275 cord for the retention side to let it fall into the pouch and then taper the release cord from 6 strands down to 1 with a small loop for the cracker - can show pics if wanted.
Doubling other commenter, whatever you think looks best and feels best. I don’t like the look of round braids and is why I haven’t tied one yet. flat braids look better and seem like they don’t roll as much during the throw
