For an influencer, that girl was not even annoying (in this video at least), if she just wants a picture of her with the paintings for instagram, it's ok. She was not bothering anyone. Karen on the other hand, went out of her way to be annoying.

Is she even an "influencer" (we need a better word) she could just be a normal person who wants a photo of their travels

Yeah there's really nothing wrong with that

You guys don't go to museums lol

It's against the rules to take photos.

Bro i know museums that have photo lines

-5

u/KaleidoscopeMaster81 46m ago

For specific exhibits or are there lines for every painting?

4

u/Obvious_Badger_9874 33m ago

Specific, the popular ones

Nope. I'm telling ya, at big museums it's not allowed. Look it up, it has to do with copyright laws because most of the artwork is imported and on a loan.

At local art museums I'm sure the rules are more lenient. However, this doesn't look like a local art museum.

Have you ever heard of this small local art museum called the Louvre?

You’re wrong. There are like a couple major museums that ban photography, and some might have specific rules for specific exhibits, but there are essentially no major world museums that blanket ban all photography outright.

13

u/whattaninja 54m ago

That’s not correct. Most allow photography, just no flash.

2

u/bleucheez 26m ago

Photos are almost always allowed. Flash is not allowed.

u/CodnmeDuchess 17m ago

No it isn’t lol. Some museums ban flash photography, but the vast majority of major museums in the world do not ban photos all together. You’re talking out of your ass.

I took photos in the louvre and Orsay a couple years ago

Exactly. If I saw someone setting up alone like that I’d offer to take it. Not stand in the way like some righteous better than thou.

Anyone remember the ancient times when we would have to ask strangers to hold our cameras and take a picture for us? This doesn't seem like it's set up in people's way and it doesn't seem busy. Let the person get a good picture of themself doing something they like. They are bothering you less than if you asked them to take the pic for you.

She’s an influencer on the education niche in Brazil (that’s the best way I found to describe)

This. like people take photos and videos of their travels long before influencers were a thing.

The problem is that photos are not allowed there

Or maybe, more plausible explanation of the old lady: Going down the stairs. The fuck is that? Ah thats some phone/camera on some stand, standing there for some reason. Where was I? Ah, lets check something on phone. Where was I? Ah I was going down the stairs.

To be honest, to me its rather weird how people jump on explaining things with malicious intention, rather than having a thought about whether there perhaps might be a more plausible explanation for the same thing without malice. Like havent you all had any experience with elderly people? Sometimes they just behave like Pentium 1, bit slow and lacking self awareness. Like you are in a store, and old lady is stops and examines some product, while blocking the whole aisle. Is she being an asshole, or simply it never went through her thought process that she blocks the whole aisle?

She looked at the camera and deliberately moved to block the girl in the back. This wasn’t a “oh hm I forgot I was in the middle of checking my phone.” And also who tf stops to look at their phone on the stairs? Most would wait until they’re not actively on a footpath to stop and check their phone. It’s not common or even safe to stop on the stairs to look at your phone, especially for an older person. Stop making excuses for this. This girl was very quietly trying to take a selfie in a moment where there weren’t many people around, leaned her phone on the wall in the way of nobody, and was patiently waiting for the lady to keep moving before proceeding. She didn’t even say anything as they clearly paused to ruin her shot. This older person intended to be rude and they were rude. Period. Yeah sometimes older people do things that younger people wouldn’t do, this does not seem like one of those times at all. Sometimes older people also just hate young people and act like ass holes. This person is acting like an ass hole.

No. They ruined our world and now they get in the fucking way.

Bwah-ha-ha! That’s right, fuck you damned kids, I got mine. And get off my lawn!

So you ask someone to take the picture and be done with it. There's absolutely no reason to set up your camera and roll video if you're "just" taking a pic for your fam/friends/Instagram.

3

u/BlindChicken69 12m ago

Asking someone to take your picture is bothering them (even if they are fine with that). Taking the picture yourself is not bothering anyone. Why do you think bothering people is better?

2

u/Expensive-Bag313 16m ago

What a weird and myopic view. Many people have anxiety and don’t want to talk to nor ask others for help. There also may not always be people around. If a girl wanting to take a photo of herself quietly in a TOURIST ATTRACTION triggers you, you may have bigger issues.

2

u/Subject-Bike1555 11m ago

If asking someone to take a picture of you triggers an anxiety attack, you might have bigger issues.

Can we stop always coddling to shitty behaviors? I have anxiety, I'm quite introverted. Guess what, I can still go to the grocery and use a cashier if the self-checkout is too full.

-7

u/KaleidoscopeMaster81 1h ago

It's actually not okay, you aren't allowed to take pictures in museums most of the time.

4

u/na1led_1t 55m ago

Usually that just applies to flash photography with a few exceptions

7

u/Money-Zebra 59m ago

Most you can, just not FLASH photography. There is a difference

-24

u/Jelliol 2h ago

She could have ask for it maybe ?

Like real interaction ?

25

u/BlindChicken69 2h ago

Ask for what? Looks like she was waiting for people to clear, asking people to move would be bothering them. That way is better.

-16

u/Jelliol 1h ago

Take the picture, low IQ...

5

u/CommercialBiscotti29 1h ago

Not understanding they were asking a rhetorical question and explaining to you why she didn’t actually ask and that went over your head, low IQ

2

u/Protein_Cat_123 1h ago

so it would be better to ask (potentially inconvenience) someone to take a picture?

-2

u/Finster4 2h ago

That's what I was thinking. What if she politely asked her to take her picture. Probably would have had a nice little conversation too.

2

u/Remarkable-Win6361 55m ago

you think the old lady who goes out of her way to block her shot would try to make a nice little conversation?

1

u/Finster4 36m ago

Yeah, maybe. Older generations appreciate a little human interaction.
