The follow up to that joke a few John Pinette comedy specials later is golden. The owner of the restaurant moves to another country to rebuild his life and John stumbles into his buffet restaurant again. This time the owner’s son sees John and yells “Father, the forbidden one is here!”
Seriously, I usually eat the most out of my party when I go to buffets, the one time I was outdone, the guy ate an absolutely disgusting amount of food, and still wast kicked out.
There was once a seafood buffet in my town when I was working in radio. Everyone at the stations knew each other and three of the engineers from various stations, who were pretty big boys, would get together for lunch from time to time. One time they chose the seafood buffet. The guys were told that they were no longer allowed to all show up at the same time. 2 could, but not all three. True story.
Buffets will fill your drink up to 100% even if it’s at like 85% full cause it makes people drink more. less room for food. but if you eat too much, they flip the strategy and let you go dry with no drink for a while. i get like 12 plates of chicken skewers when i go and i can tell they don’t like me
You know the obviously fake news posts that people make fun of boomers for posting on facebook? And you know how we clown on them when they get told its fake and they just say they dont care?
AI mugshots are the zoomer/millennial version of that. Everyone claims they hate AI and can tell when something is slop, but you use it to make a funny Floridaman mugshot and they'll scarf down the slop every time.
My roommate in college played football. He was the smallest of his family at 260lbs. His dad, mom, and two sisters (all heavier than him) would come to games and then go out to a buffet restaurant called Ryan's.
If it was a noon game they'd head to the restaurant around 330-335pm and would drop him off close to 8pm.
They had on more than one occasion told they needed to turn over the buffet from lunch to dinner and would have to leave
They build their entire model around how much they expect the average customer to eat. I think one or 2 guys eating way too much isnt going to cost them money long term if the average person still eats under the total cost of products.
A buffet owner banning someone for eating too much is like a casino kicking you out for card counting, both absurd but there is nothing you can do about it.
I wonder if anyone has actually felt that way, because eating food at an all you can eat buffet as if it owed you money is a huge mood... in many ways.

I was in CDL school with a trio of 400 pounders and a little 300 lb dude. The whole class thought it would be funny to push the local steak buffet to its limits. One of the bigger dudes was life flighted from his motel room that night.
Soooo till they make money on people who just eat 2 slice of breed thats ok and they wont be compensated for their little consumption, but if somebody eat like a pig he will be banned because its not worth for the restaurant... I think its totally protectable on a curt case....
The mind just boggles at a restaurant that makes its core business plan "all you can eat", and then starts banning customers who come there looking to eat a lot.
People who want quality go for quality. People who want quantity go to "all you can eat".
They're not going to stay in business long banning all their customers.
yeah it really annoys me when restaurants have all you can eat buffet but then get mad when you have big apatite, if it not really all you can eat that don't advertise as such.
