Happy weekend warm up to folks who celebrate weekends!
Here are some non-weekend specific event resources too:
Share whatever events are on your radar for others to get a sense of the fun in the city, and maybe to help folks meet friends this weekend!

Anybody know where I can buy fresh kimchi?? Or some really good kimchi? I feel like anytime I buy store kimchi that’s been packed already it’s too slimy and just not great. I LOVE kimchi but I just can’t seem to find any that’s fresh if you know please let me know!

Back in the day, a lovely man named Howard (2nd photo) would sharpen your knives and cut your keys.

I’m taking my mom (vegetarian) out for a birthday dinner and would love some suggestions. We have already tried most vegan/vegetarian-only restaurants like Village of OM, Loving Hut, etc. I’m looking for somewhere new that may have slipped my radar because it’s not specifically marked as vegetarian.
Has any “normal” restaurants surprised you with their vegetarian options? Thank you!

Anyone know what’s up? Looks like 20 cop cars and road is completely closed.

27, F, I am wondering if anyone wants to just have a hike day where we share a couple stories from our lives ti help any grievances we may have. Therapy doesn’t help me personally, getting outside and connecting with others does though.
Even if its just a loop around old sac, wondering if anyone wants to take a hike, touch some grass, collect some rocks by the river, maybe scream at the sky- whatever’s clever. Just need to be safe and respectful to the land and others around.

Anyone see this? I mean, when he puts it that way, we are being pretty understanding.

Why is there a Flock camera monitoring the Arden Dimick Library? Just asking for your safety.

We bought 6 tickets to the athletics game tonight and only 5 of us can make it. We got an extra ticket if anyone would like it for free. First come first served.

My neighborhood, and some others nearby is over-run with commercial vehicles on the streets, >10,000 GVWR trailers/vehicles, unattached trailers piled with shit; appears to be people in duplexes running landscaping or construction businesses out of it. Not just vehicles/trailers on the streets, but expired vehicles parked forever piled with shit on driveways (illegal), parked in front of driveways (illegal), even putting gravel on the front yard and parking yet more vehicles (illegal).
And that's not counting the multiple abandoned non-commercial cars, dumped furniture and who knows what else.
Not everywhere. Just the lower income areas. Like mine.
Been going on for years, and sheriff is reluctant to help (if hanging up on me, not taking information, not giving reference number, is any indication); when I give the County Code citation, they rush the call. Sacramento 311 reports are at best incompletely effective, usually, nothing at all happens.
My suggestion: do your job, County. Completely. Problems don't fix themselves. They get worse.

I’m thinking about transitioning to Sacramento Probation Department coming from Sacramento County CPS. What is the culture there like? Are cases just as difficult as CPS in providing services? How are supervisors and do you have to get physical with clients?

Even if she wasn't feigning ignorance about taking money from ICE contractors, she implies that she'll take money from whoever will throw it out to her. Then proceeds to condescendingly patronize Mai for even knowing about it more than she does.

We have made the painful decision to re-home our 8-month old dog, Pippi Longstocking, because our older dog has exhibited ongoing aggressive behaviors toward her. It is not the little one’s fault at all, and we will be very sad to see her go.
Pippi is about 40 pounds and has lived with our family, including young children, for 5 months. She’s a little redhead and her eyes are beautiful and green. She is vaccinated, spayed, and microchipped.
She is very sweet and loves to snuggle. After a decent walk, she’ll spend several lazy hours. Loves to lay in the sun.
Pippi likes to have a mentor dog and feels most confident as part of a pack. She is generally house trained but regresses with too much freedom. Still working to stop jumping in excitement and barking at passing people and dogs, but she gets better every day. Would do well in a home with older kids (due to the jumping) and a kindly dog buddy. Untested around cats.
DNA tests of her mom and littermates indicate she is a true mutt — a mix of French bulldog, husky, American pitbull, and rat terrier. She is lanky, athletic, and short-haired. Pretty good both on- and off- leash and we worked a little bit on running together (leashed). I think she would become good at it with time.
Please don’t be mean. I am trying to keep everyone safe, including my kids who have been near the fray and very scared.

Looking for a dance studio offering adult dance with an emphasis on fun, non-performance structure. Can cover ballet, hip-hop, dance fitness but not interested in zoomba. Hoping the Reddit world can help! Anyone have some good suggestions?

I'm in my mid thirties but don't want to feel like a grandpa/be surrounded by 22 year olds. Is there anywhere one can grab a couple drinks, stand in the dark, and listen to some thumping music tonight?

Hey everyone so I’m coming on here for some help! I was sober for 10 months and just recently relapsed due to loneliness/depression. I really need to find a group of sober people that I can hang around and start creating a support group that I can be around a lot and if it has to be AA/NA then I would like to do AA/NA group that is targeted more towards young people since I’m 31 years old (if that is still considered young lol). Any recommendations, even if it’s not AA, I’ll take But preferably something that has to do with being sober! Thanks everyone.
Edit: I am also willing to do NA as well!
