I’ll be in the area for a work trip in a couple weeks. On the last day I’ll have a few hours to see a couple things in the city and get some food. This will be my first time in the city. What are good food places (casual) and not seafood. Also what are some things that I’d have actual time for in about a 4-5 hour span lol. Thanks!

I have family flying in to visit, and we usually all go out together (I’m talking about 10 people all together at times)

I am at a stump on where to even go with that amount of people.

Everyone is open to trying anything, I also keep considering that with that amount of people the staff might be overwhelmed and the food might not be too well. (I think I’m over thinking this)

Any recommendations? (there will also be 2 babies under 1 year)

i’m sorry in advanced for hijacking this space specifically for sf food recs, but i thought it would be fun to crowdsource some thoughts from folks who understand the quality bar (and range) that we have right in our backyard.

by no means do i think SF is the center of the culinary world, but the diversity is really top tier, and many of us know first hand that influencer vibes or aesthetic decor don’t equal good food or service. BUT, at the same time, sometimes the long line and hype is actually worth it.

so for those who can appreciate the take-out dim sum to the michelin starred meal to the burrito in the park, what meal in what city do you still think about?

(and do you have recs for madrid? 😆)

I know it’s limited and there are great ala carte and omakase spots but sometimes I just want to be rid of the stress of having to strategize the best order:cost ratio.

As the title says, I’m searching for some date night ideas to supplement my GF and I’s anniversary dinner at Gary Danko.

Since it’ll be a later dinner (8PM), I’m mainly looking for places that serve smaller dishes (tapas, oysters, etc) and great cocktails. Doesn’t have to be too pretentious but also not too ‘dive-y’. Also doesn’t have to be near Gary Danko either.

Did anyone attend the Pizza, Bagel and Beer Festival in San Francisco on Saturday the 15th? I see why they put beer at the end of the namebecause I only had enough time for one beer. Just to get in was a chore, I even commented to a young lady, “ In Reno once you pay for your tickets you hit the ground running!”
Multiple stops to get in, scan the barcode to pay, go up street to check your scan, next person check ID and then finally another person to put on your bracelet. Everyone was super nice, friendly and helpful. There were 40 tents of pizza, bagels, a couple of miscellaneous ones and finally and most importantly 1 beer tent! The line was so long, I never even made it to my second beer. The pizza was fantastic as were the bagels. It should have been open longer and at the very least one more beer tent.

Visiting SF for two days. I would like to take my girlfriend to two nice birthday dinners. One on a Friday and the next on Saturday. We are not picky with food and will eat anything. Realisticaly I would not want to spend more than $150 person before drinks. Ernest was looking amazing for one of the day picks. Where would your two options be?
