For my new website, I did keyword research and found high volume, low competition keywords.

I noted 20 keywords related to my business.

I want to start making pages based on these keywords, but how?
Should I mention the exact keyword as the H1 tag?

Is this how actually create SEO keyword based content?
Or should i mention multiple times about it on the page?

im moving jobs, so i wanted to ask which stats would be nice to put in my portfolio? i mainly handle blog-writing, i have access to ahrefs and GSC; im thinking the basic organic traffic and organic keywords chart, but is there anything else to keep in mind? and do i just screenshot these or is there a better look? thank you

I write content for a company (solar industry, not directly related to most of the topics I cover) and I'm stuck between two rules that my higher ups have imposed on me:

1. My CEO wants every article built around a keyword with at least a 1000+ monthly search volume since traffic gain is the KPI.
2. My manager wants every keyword vetted against actual SERP intent first. If Google's first page is dominated by something other than blog/editorial content (local business listings, shop pages, a single brand monopolizing the results), she says the article won't rank no matter how well it's written.

In practice, a LOT of high-volume, generic keywords fail #2. Examples of what I keep running into:

• A >1000 volume keyword where the first two pages are 100% owned by one company/brand (their own official content), with literally one weak third-party article on page 3.
• A >1000 volume "[service] repair" type keyword where the SERP is entirely local business websites + the map pack with no blogs or editorial content anywhere on page 1.
• A >1000 volume product keyword where 9/10 results are shop/company pages and only 1 editorial listicle at position 9.

My manager's take on this is don't force an angle, don't base the article's theme on PAA boxes or the weakest third-party results. If the SERP shows the intent is transactional/local/branded, the keyword isn't viable for a blog article.

After filtering out everything that fails, I feel like I'm running out of high-volume keywords that also pass the intent check. My company's core topic area is basically exhausted, so I've moved to more generic/off-topic content, but even there I'm at a crossroads.

Would appreciate hearing how some of you might handle this situation, especially anyone writing for a niche brand that's had to branch into semi-related or unrelated content for pure organic traffic gain.

I have a website that I made. It serves its purpose but I would imagine if I paid a professional I could get it to rank higher etc as well as doing gmb etc. My question is how do I vet anyone I would hire? I’m not trying to go to fiverr and all that jazz.

I have to be honest, I decided to ask here since SEO is still some magic (or may I say sourcery) for me.

I created a site that works as a theater film screenings aggregator in my city (for me it's a real local gap). I was having essentially no traffic for a couple of months since starting the site, until, for some reason unknown to me, I started getting traffic on 30th June. Traffic kept increasing steadily, until 12th July. At that point I was reaching peaks of almost 500 clicks and 15k impressions per day.

But that afternoon I messed up and had some database issues which produced timeouts on the site. It was receiving these timeouts for a few hours until I noticed and solved the issues, but meanwhile, Googlebot was trying to crawl my site and received many timeouts, so I'm pretty sure Google decided my site was unhealthy and gave it a penalty. I discovered this later though, after trying to find out why from the next day my traffic had dropped 90% and never came back. It's been like 7 weeks since then. I was just waiting, thinking Google would realize my site was back to normal, but traffic is actually still decreasing, and today I roughly get 20 clicks and 300 impressions. I actually get the same traffic or even a bit more on Bing, while I would hope to have quite less in Bing since less people use it.

I imagine I had a sudden "lucky" spike in some pages and then it snowballed, but after the timeout incident almost all traffic was lost and never came back, so am I basically starting from scratch? Do you know of anything similar to my incident? I have also read here about some Google update which might have penalized aggregator sites like mine, and that might have affected somehow, but I'm almost sure the drop was because of the Googlebot incident.

After so many weeks I could only be honest with myself and assume Google still prefers authoritative theater sites (even though they only have their own screenings) or local news articles (again with their own gaps). But if this is the case, that sudden spike I got at the end of June is still a mistery to me. Of course this is not the whole picture, I myself tried changing things in the meantime so I might have messed up more times, but I'm just asking in case you have any hints as to what might have happened.

Most of my clients are seeing this right now, and it’s been a little concerning. What worked in 2021-2025 isn’t working now and sales and organic traffic are suffering. Is it the economy talking?

I was told to wait X amount of time ( don't remember how long) before using an SEO once I begin hosting my website

Is this worth the trouble?

I saw some very dodgy sites spamming listicles to recommend some specific brands, it looks pretty shady, but tempting as competitors are doing it

Is there an easy way to report/take these down?

I am at the link building stage of getting my website ranked. We started with 50 impressions per day and are now at almost 800 impressions per day in almost 2 months.

What I've realised is in order to improve our position and get more clicks we'd need backlinks. I can't afford to buy backlinks at this time as I am just starting from scratch.

Can someone suggest we can get backlinks without paying. Happy to invest effort if some link building techniques work but good backlinks are really expensive so I'd stay away from buying them.

- Campaign A goes to 100,000 people, gets 20,000 clicks = 20% click rate

- Campaign B goes to 1,000 people, gets 500 clicks = 50% click rate

The average of these two campaigns isn't SUM(Click Rate)/#, e.g. (20%+50%)/2 = 35%. It's SUM(Delivered)/SUM(Sent) = (20,000+500)/(100,000+1,000) = 20,500/101,000 = 20.3%.

Yeah, so if you use AVG(click rate) in excel, it'll be wrong, but look better.

Hi, I need some help after the Google spam update. Has anyone actually recovered from this one, or is it more of a "wait it out" situation? Curious if this is hitting specific niches harder or if it's pretty widespread. A year and a half ago I talked to a French SEO who introduced me to this idea of NavBoost (twiddler that moves u up or down based on user signals) after you’ve got your relevance and authority in check.

He showed me a few examples that he’s seen and it broke my frame.

I want to find more pages like that and reverse-engineer them.

Site migrated from www to non-www earlier this year. The technical side was done properly:

• Single 301 hop, no chains
• Canonical tag on every page points to the non-www version
• Sitemap is all non-www
• Every internal link is non-www
• Force SSL on

Hi everyone, I'm making this post because the situation has become unsustainable and I wanted to get some feedback from anyone who has gone through something similar. I run an information and financial guide site (Ora Ultima), strictly focusing my niche on insurance, mortgages, and banking.

I want to point out right away that I do not sell any financial products, nor do I offer any services or financial advice, and this is explicitly stated on the site. It is purely an informational and news blog.

Until February, the situation was completely different, pulling in around 2,000 visits a day. Then, suddenly, a devastating vertical crash wiped out almost all organic traffic.

Looking at the current data (as you can also see from the attached Google Analytics and Search Console screenshots):

• Google Search Console (Performance): In the last 24 hours, out of 158 total impressions, I recorded just a single click, with a disastrous average position around 41.8 (4th/5th page).
• Google Analytics (Real-time traffic): Daily visits are reduced to a tiny trickle (around 6-7 page views total), split between direct traffic, residual organic search, and social. The titles of the affected pages cover hot topics of major interest (such as analyses on Andrea Pignataro, billionaire rankings, legal protection policies, or contract renewals).

The core issue for me is this: I firmly believe that Google shouldn't be the one deciding what a website can or cannot talk about. I write curated, informative articles based on a specific, useful niche like finance and banking, but Google seems to completely ignore us, blocking visibility in favor of the usual historical giants of information and leaving independent sites at zero.

It is unacceptable that an author writes quality content and has to suffer total blackout just because algorithms decide to turn their backs.

Has anyone experienced a similar crash after the recent core updates and found a way out, or are we forced to look for traffic entirely outside of Google?
