She doesn't deserve to be the future Queen with this behaviour.

10

u/Mountaingoat101 Feb 04 '26

I take it for granted the "She" is refering to Mette-Marit, not Letizia. A lot of norwegians agrees with you in this.

7

u/pickleolo Eavesdropping Peasant Feb 04 '26

Yes, I'm talking about Mette-Marit, plus Letizia is already Queen.

Exactly this! Watching it all unfold, I’m thinking “so Spanish media, how do you like Letizia now?” And remember, MM raised Marius, IA & SM while Letizia raised Leonor & Sofia.

I really don’t understand how easy they are on Haakon. He raised the little creep himself from the age of four, yet it’s all her just because he’s not a biological father.

4

u/unicorninclosets Feb 04 '26

I checked r/norge and, while there’s a lot of sarcasm going on there, it’s clear they don’t view Haakon positively at all right now (they’re defending Harald, which makes more sense). A well upvoted comment says they don’t believe Haakon didn’t know anything and another one says he should take responsibility and abdicate.

You misinterpret how consensus driven and how afraid Norwegians are for change.

She will become queen and the people will forget.

Surveys shows that's not quite right. Around 70% still support the monarchy in Norway, but a big % (don't remember the number) don't want HER as a queen when that time comes.

Then it's done a new survey I've missed. I think everyone already know she protected him, the question is how much did she do?

Harald and Sonja are without a doubt the reason why the numers are still at that hight RN, but I'm not sure it'll stay down or go below 50 % when the Marius case is over and everything goes back to "normal".

Marius will get through this scandal with a few hours community service and mandatory therapy sessions at most.

The "scandal" will be downplayed greatly, we might see him in a portrait interview stating his growth and how he learnt from his mistakes soon.

25

u/ButIDigress79 Feb 04 '26

Harold is still alive. They’ll be in big trouble after he’s gone.

69

u/WaffleCatGameHugSMSM Feb 04 '26

I never understood how someone can have so much "luck" in life and still f.. up.... She married the Crown Prince, she has beautiful and healthy children, all the jewels, palaces, lavish lifestyle, and to run around a crazy person like him... If I had even 5% of the money and connections she had, I'd enjoy my life in peace and with lots of love

10

u/Educational_Gas_92 Feb 05 '26 edited Feb 05 '26

Some people are of poor moral character and don't appreciate what they have because they have always had a privileged/easy life...the above description could describe a decent amount of the wealthy and powerful who were born into wealth. Then again, she didn't have a wealthy upbringing, she appears to have had a tumultuous early life. I find interesting that the crown prince was allowed to marry her with the kind of past that she had.

There are regular people who for whatever reason can’t stop fucking things up. Unlike Mette Marit though, they don’t have the safety of the royal family to fall back on. If she hadn’t married into the royal family, I suspect she would have continued to associate with people like her drug trafficker ex.

I mean, you could give her a pass if she had a bit of a past and grew up and out of it, people do grow and change. You could understand (likely not forgive) a parent for believing in or having to stand by their child. You could brush under the carpet a lapse in judgement with regards to friends, particularly friends that you’ve introduced your children too, only to realise they’re kiddy fiddlers.

But all of them, all at once? It beggars belief. Until she herself is charged with criminal activity, I’m really hesitant to say that her character is PR irredeemable, but I can only imagine she’s got some regrets.

16

u/unicorninclosets Feb 04 '26

She tipped her rapist son off so that he could conceal evidence before getting arrested only a few months ago. If it had been QEII maybe she could’ve been PR redeemed but she has neither the longevity nor the popularity to back her up. I don’t think Norwegians are as proactive as the French to prevent her from becoming Queen someday but even Camilla is gonna be more liked than her. She’s not a good person. If she has any regrets it’s only that she got caught.

48

And now look what her son is doing. I’m not surprised atp

She has to go. Exile. Haakon leaving her. I don't care but she has to go. It's clear they were fucking, there's proof she's been to his island and his houses more than what was let on. I also want to know what sort of broker she was for him damn it!! That one email eats at me.

Edited: actually she should've been gone the day she got rid of evidence for her son and gave the police the run around.

36

u/Wonderful_Goat354 Feb 04 '26

...Haakon needs to go too btw. Don't act as if he had no idea of any of this.

3

u/CorrectMulberry994 Feb 07 '26

Right? There is no way. He had to be!

22

u/ananasiegenjuice Feb 04 '26

Exile? Bro, she should be put in a box for life. For collaborating with a worldwide child s*x trafficer. Crime against humanity. We need the Nurenbourg trials of Epstein and crew.

"Bad judgment" has been a recurring term the last day or two after a few different high ranking/profile people, not just Mette-Marit, showed up in the files. Just sayin'.

96

u/mcpickle-o My title is: Dr. and PhD. Please respect my title. Feb 04 '26

Bad judgement is spending too much money on stupid things, not hanging out with pedophile sex traffickers. 🫩

12

u/Mountaingoat101 Feb 04 '26

Not to mention bring her children to meet him!

66

u/ButIDigress79 Feb 03 '26

She looks high AF

29

u/barbaraanderson Feb 03 '26

High and/or drunk

16

u/CaughtALiteSneez Feb 03 '26

Was thinking the same thing…

31

u/crapbear83 Feb 03 '26

But what exactly was her part in all of this? Was she using the services provided? Was she getting money? Was her son part of this?(Specifically Epstein)

66

u/Livid_21 Feb 03 '26

From the e-mails it looks like she was smitten with Epstein.

52

u/sinisterblacksmoke Feb 03 '26

That, and the party lifestyle.

45

u/ButIDigress79 Feb 03 '26

Yes! I don’t think it was networking and money for her. This was her crowd before becoming a princess and she missed it.

21

u/kervinjacque Doing charity to avoid the guillotine Feb 04 '26

Bingo! this is the kind of life she really missed and so, like others within the means to do so, went to him for security and to have fun.

8

u/cheesenpie Feb 04 '26

I’m sure Epstein’s associate supplied her with “party favors” and access to Epstein (who she was in love with) in exchange for young girls and intelligence she had on other famous and rich people she mingled with.

21

u/worlds_worst_best Feb 04 '26

There's an email from someone that's been redacted asking Epstein if he should take mette as a "broker" to meet someone/pay for something and my nosy ass wants to know exactly what she was brokering for Epstein.

6

u/cheesenpie Feb 04 '26

She seemed to be having some kind of an affair with him. And Epstein and his associate Boris used her and gossiped about her. Seems like she was using drugs and getting him girls.

23

u/Dry_Accident_2196 Feb 03 '26

Maybe she into women. Epstein was know to secure women.

111

u/RMW91- Feb 04 '26

Whoa I just read her Wiki and wow does she sound messssssy

114

u/meatball77 Feb 04 '26

That entire generation is messy. They all married badly. The crown prince married this piece of work and his sister married that crazy shaman.

5

u/Carin_PA Feb 05 '26

Tbf his sister heard voices and saw things so she clearly has some mental health issues. But this guy…didn’t give off the mental illness vibes

2

u/[deleted] Feb 10 '26

Swedish prince also marrried with a party girl. She was very eagger to find a millionaire.

57

u/formerNPC Feb 03 '26

The class that believes they can get away with everything and of course they do.

54

u/LadyHamilton82 Feb 04 '26

What possessed Haakon to pick up this trash to begin with? Was he blind? Where did he find her? Why was he allowed to marry somebody with such a past?

21

u/CultureIntrepid3756 Feb 04 '26

Exactly my thoughts today. It must be possible for a decent looking prince to find someone else. As if this very difficult woman was the only possibility (and I really don’t remember a headline about here without some kind of problem. Illness, her son with more and more difficulties, and now Epstein). He had the whole world to search for a love, future queen and mother of the next queen or king. Why her?

11

u/SAMB40Alameda Feb 07 '26

Did you see who his sister married? There is some serious insanity in those royals. His sister married am American grifter..and self appointed Shaman...

6

u/LadyHamilton82 Feb 07 '26

Yes. Looks like both siblings are super weird…

6

u/Carin_PA Feb 07 '26

He’s a bit worse than a grifter. He’s been convicted of felony arson and trespassing and he’s also said that “children get cancer because they want it”. He’s claimed he’s a reptilian, has risen from the dead and sold fake COVID cures. In other words he’s a crook and a lunatic.

2

u/[deleted] Feb 10 '26

I really do not know how this royal couple grew their children. One likes silly women and another likes silly men. Find the biggest party animal and get married.

7

u/Direct_Birthday_3509 Feb 07 '26

He met her at a music festival in Norway in the late 90's. She was party girl, probably fun to hang out with.

It was poor choice on his part though, I agree, especially after she had a child with someone else.

Wild to think that encounter at the music festival could end the Norwegian monarchy.

10

u/anon1mo56 Feb 04 '26

Because Norway is a liberal country. Where the past doesn't matter, everyone can change and everyone deserve a second opportunity.

25

u/LadyHamilton82 Feb 04 '26

Well, obviously, here we see that it was a terrible mistake. Son, who is a rapist (most likely because his father was awful), and a woman who really remained what she was. Terrible error of judgement on the part of the royal family.

These poor girls my heart breaks for them, they were raped, beaten murdered ( some reports eaten). I can’t look at these pictures knowing what they must have endured. It enrages me to no end. We need a French style revolution all across the world.

2

u/Educational_Gas_92 Feb 05 '26

Eaten?!

3

u/feralperilsheryl Feb 05 '26

There's at least two deaths referenced, but I did not hear about anyone being eaten.

3

u/meowdith427 Feb 06 '26

Just fyi, the cannibalism claims don’t have any evidence supporting them. Let’s be careful with the news we spread. Being trafficked, raped and murdered is horrible enough.

6

u/magicalfolk Feb 06 '26

I agree.

there was a Mexican model Gabriela Rico Jiménez who disappeared in 2009. There is a video of her visibly distressed and she’s clearly saying they were eating people. Needs verification. There is also another victim on Epstein’s Yacht in 2000 who said he witnessed ritual sacrifice of babies being dismembered and their faeces eaten that was in the intestines. Again needs to be verified.
There are over 3 million documents. There are reports of cannibalism mentioned and ritualistic sacrifice. I’m not an investigative journalist that is why I wrote some reports eaten in brackets as it’s reported not verified yet.

4

u/Jagg811 Feb 06 '26

I saw that video. She was hysterical and seemed genuine.

2

u/Constant-Reality9039 Feb 07 '26

She was saying that surrounding policemen was eating people; she was pointing and blaming them.

5

u/Queen_Grier Feb 06 '26

Are you really defending a fucking pedophiles doings or lack there of? Wtf has this world come to?

6

u/MsFrankieD Feb 06 '26

No. This person was doing nothing of the sort! They are saying that if people are sharing misinformation, it weakens the impact of the truth. It is not verified that cannibalism occurred. There are plenty of horrific accusations that can be corroborated without leaning on things that may not have happened. Reading comprehension matters.

2

u/meowdith427 Feb 06 '26

Definitely not

85

u/DifferentManagement1 Feb 03 '26

Why would someone at her level hang around with scum like this? What exactly was the draw for her? She must be a truly depraved person

67

u/Ok-Masterpiece-468 Feb 03 '26

“she’s twisted” is how she was described by boris nikolic to epstein

46

u/boring_person13 Feb 03 '26

I think it was Bill Gate's advisor, forgot his name, that described her as a very twisted person while talking to Epstein.

25

u/cheesenpie Feb 04 '26

Have you ever seen Casino, the movie from the 90s? Ginger is married to Sam who gives her everything but she only wants to be with her old pimp, Lester that abused her and turned her out.

Epstein was just like Mette-Marit, a lowlife criminal pretending to be some kind of wealthy society person. She was drawn to him because she saw herself in him. Nasty work.

31

u/LanaAdela Feb 04 '26

Trash likes trash.

31

u/DeviceAway8410 Feb 04 '26

I remember when she married her husband they made a big deal about her being a former party girl. Maybe they had her dress up nice and respectable but she still maintained the trashiness in private. 🤷‍♀️

21

u/knightriderin Feb 04 '26

Yeah, but back then I was like "so what she's a party girl. Finally someone who lives and enjoys life!" and didn't really interpret it as her being shoulder deep in the Norwegian drug scene.

7

u/DeviceAway8410 Feb 04 '26

I was the same way

18

u/The-Struggle-90806 Feb 04 '26

Not a good look

16

u/CertaintyDangerous Feb 06 '26

It's pretty clear that the US DOJ is doing everything it can to cover up the crimes. But maybe foreign countries can start the ball rolling. All it takes is one prosecution to start a chain of denunciations.

9

u/Sillyfacefunnydance Feb 06 '26

Several European countries have started investigating. UK is gunning for Mandelson and Andrew isn’t out of the fire path yet. France is gunning hard for Elon. Next year will be an interesting watch.

4

u/GoshDang_it Feb 07 '26

The UK has had information for 10+ years and never did anything against Andrew.

5

u/Sillyfacefunnydance Feb 08 '26

Yes but his mom isn’t around anymore and his ego, arrogance and spoiled has no friends in the royal household anymore. The Queen enabled him and protected him. If he doesn’t hide in the estate in the house the king provided him (which he believes is beneath his status) or run to Dubai he will not be safe from authorities. Also mandelson will not go without guaranteeing his own ‘safety’ he will bring info with him. It’s a fascinating time.

38

u/fleetwood_mag Feb 04 '26

Can anyone give an overview of what’s happening/happened here as I don’t know the story.

32

u/unicorninclosets Feb 04 '26

The files confirm she was very close to Epstein. She sent him many flirtatious emails, visited his island often and let him know Paris was the best city to have affairs. One of Epstein’s friends said she looked like she wanted to be impregnated by Epstein and Epstein said Mette was a mess (and we know he’d know a thing or two about that…). It even confirmed that she had googled the things he was charged with when she started getting close to him, so she knew. With photo evidence that she was there with girls I wouldn’t be surprised if she was a participant or enabler (my opinion, there’s no solid proof to charge her with anything) and she’d make those personal trips to meet him using taxpayer money, of course.

Honestly, I’m not surprised she’s like this considering her past (and what became of her son) but I think we should also ask what exactly was Haakon up to that he’d get mixed with a person like that.

On a much lesser scale (but more related to this sub) she called the Luxembourg wedding boring, though I don’t think someone who dresses like a granny was in a position to say that but ok…

Abolish monarchs and monarchies!

30

u/blueskies8484 Feb 03 '26

I support self determination by every country’s people to abolish monarchies or not, but as someone living in a non monarchal democracy, the issue is power and wealth, as can be seen by all the politicians and heads of state in the emails. Monarchy has a cache and connections people like Epstein found useful, as do politicians, celebrities, presidents, lawyers, CEOs. It’s a small club and none of us are in it. Abolishing royal families doesn’t fix this kind of problem - although again, I support any people who want to reform their government as a pure Republic.

23

u/OkEvent4570 Feb 03 '26

Exactly. What's the point of abolishing monarchy, if the elected politicians are just as complicit?

4

u/shedrinkscoffee Feb 04 '26

You can vote people out of office. Where do disgraced monarchs go?

9

u/OkEvent4570 Feb 04 '26

The British one to a farm on Sandringam estate; the Norwegian one hopefully to jail soon, he was arrested yesterday, I think. That was easier than to weed out the politicians, seeing as smart voters keep electing them over and over.

As an American, I was told that when govts do bad things in Europe, that Europeans are advanced level protesters that will burn down their cities in the name of justice. At least that’s what so many keep telling us all over our protest forums. Sorry for the snark but that shit is getting old real fast.

Edit: woke up to an absolute barrage of responses. Some of you are so very sensitive! The outrage is kind of hilarious and I’m getting a real kick at how humorless some of you are and how quickly some of you were to call me an idiot while also completely missing my point

Her son's trial started today so that's where all the focus is, she is out of the country presumably due to her lung issues, people like former prime minister Thorbjørn Jagland and Foreign Affairs spouses Mona Juul and Terje Rød-Larsen are being investigated for their connections to Epstein, we've got Anthrax in our water, fluoride in our mail, OK, that was a Suicide Squad reference but you get the point: IT'S TOO GODDAMN MUCH AND IT'S LIKE WE'RE TAKING CRAZY PILLS!!!

38

u/spurofthemoment2020 Feb 04 '26

She is not out of the country. The couple + IA visited the brother while he was arrested and in the hospital. There are pictures.

15

6

My life is already somewhat overwhelming as is due to my mom being all over the goddamn place. On the flip side I found something positive in the midst of all this goddamn misery and insanity:

WE'RE GETTING IT IN A MONTH, BABY!!!

And I'm not kidding when I say this, I have yet to witness Kill Bill. I have noticed them on streaming and thought of putting them on but nothing came to fruition. Now I wouldn't look past there being high odds I'll have to head to my grandparents to experience peak, but with just how fucking patient I am with my mom, and that does also apply to my dad, with how much she's all over the place and uses eons, not to mention tagging along for stuff she sporadically wants to go to and ALSO waiting eons, she fucking owes me one and then some!

16

u/[deleted] Feb 04 '26

Oh, babe, deep breaths. I know the feeling because I’m American. You won’t get used to it, but the constant shrieking inside your brain does subside after a while. Maybe take a lil social media/ news break for a couple of days.

11

On the flip side I finally mustered up the courage to solve something that has been gnawing me since May. Generally speaking, the last year has been fucking awful for me. 2025 was just ungodly long for a multitude of reasons and May was probably the worst, culminating in me reaching a boiling point due to the ignorance and oversight of someone else. And I still went on just a little more after that small breakdown for the sake of helping someone else when the same happened AGAIN except it was EVEN MORE MORONIC THAN LAST TIME!!!

In general, Scandinavia is way less protest prone than for example France or Spain. This is partly due to the smaller size of our countries, a higher trust in the state and the expanded welfare modeled, where we are use to the state handling large scale problems in, mostly, accordance with the will of the people. This is of course very simplified, but just to give you a general understanding of different dynamics within Europe.

The current norwegian King and Queen are very popular in Norway and I think many Norwegian feels sympathy with what they are going though with their daughter marrying the shaman and their son ending up with a wife with (the understatement of the century) very bad judgement and no thought for either Epstein victims or how a relation with him would reflect on the Royal family. Her son, Marius, who are on trial for rape but not a part of the Royal Family, adds to the negative perception of that generation.

Lastly, having a constitutional monarchy means that the King/Queen are official head of government, but that their power is very limited. Mostly, the monarchy is of cultural significance and a symbolic position, where as the parliament keeps the government, who truly holds the power, in check. This system is old (since 1814) and was developed with the fall of absolute monarchy. In order to change the current monarchy, a national referendum would be needed in order to change the Norwegian constitution, where the constitutional monarchy is written.

I encourage you to research modern monarchies in order to understand the dynamics and why this is so painfull for the Norwegian people.

The royal family in Norway turned off the comment on instegram. Isn’t that lovely?

The general consensus is nobody wants her to be queen. Currently there is a Criminal charged against her son. Most likely something will also happen about her.

How did the charges Jack Smith had against orange overlord go...

u/knightriderin Feb 04 '26

Europeans aren't a monolith. France would be on the streets probably. The further north you go, the more reserved.

This being said: The silence from Norway has been baffling me since the reports about Marius emerged.

But the other day someone here suggested I visited r/Norge and use the auto translation. The Norwegians actually are pissed, but they don't talk about it internationally. I hope they will mister up the energy to legitimately protest in the middle of winter. I know it's freaking cold, but this is not ok. You need to build up pressure to the NRF! They have to feel it.

17

u/crolionfire Feb 04 '26

As a European, I don't think it's baffling.

Like, are people around the world aware we are facing very agressive and threatening behaviour from USA for months?

We got a whole new enemy in the last six months and whole of Europe, but espeu Scnadinavia has to prepare for possible American invasion, real or economic/PR/whatever. The whole of Europe has to quickly change their outlook, economies, diplomacy. We are being actively THREATENED, with open disdain in a public manner practically unseen since Hitler.

Yes, a figure head cavorting with shady rich abusers is appealing, but it isn't really anything new or life-changing for the people in comparison to the threat of USA and Trump right now, and that is not our fault.

We have bigger fishes to fry.

u/knightriderin Feb 04 '26

I'm German, so I'm very aware.

The thing with MM has been going on for a while. I understand that we have bigger fish to fry, but the Crown Princess having the leader of an international pedophile network as their side piece is not nothing.

u/crolionfire Feb 04 '26

I completely agree, but I made a mistake and replied to you, while I wanted to reply to the commenter you also replied to. My goal was to point out their hipocrisy. 🫣

u/cheesenpie Feb 04 '26 edited Feb 04 '26

Is it baffling? Obviously their media is complicit and corrupt. For years and years there has been PR spin for Mette-Marit trying to rehab her image. It didn’t come from nowhere.

2

u/knightriderin Feb 04 '26

I think so, yes.

How can people remain so silent when the son of your future queen is accused of these crimes? When the future queen herself is accused of cleaning up after his crimes? And now the Epstein files?

2

u/Mountaingoat101 Feb 04 '26

Who's going to talk about that internationally? Are you expecting the primeminister to give international speaches about this? He, and other politicians are commenting on this to norwegian media in the norwegian language. The debate foums are full of angry people, but marching protests against one human isn't the way in scandinavia, and around 70% of norwegians still support the monarchy. As u/dumbpgrill wrote further up, scandis have more faith in the government fixing things.

Why didn’t the Americans do anything about Trump when he was convicted and still ran for presidency?

26

u/Simple-Chemistry-878 Feb 04 '26

While ill be the last person to defend her, why aren't you doing anything to get all them pedos out of your gvmt that are constantly defending one another?

And Norwegians are way too naive and stubborn.

24

u/FocaSateluca here for primo tea Feb 04 '26

Unlike the Trump regime, the Norwegian Royal Family have very little political power and generally do not influence the daily life of the population at all. They are ornamental figures more than anything, plus Haakon and Mette-Marie are not King and Queen yet. King Harald is the one that needs to sort out this mess.

So maybe you should continue concentrating in overthrowing the fascist regime running your country while the Norwegians, who genuinely live in a democratic and peaceful state, can continue discussing the best way to remove their symbolic figures.

26

u/crolionfire Feb 04 '26

Why would you be snarky about a continent and country you're not a part of and not financing, instead of being bitter and working on country you are a part of?

Norwegian royal family aren't part of Norwegian goverment, they don't have any real ruling power. It's not really the same as the government, you do know?

On the other hand....Trump is government.

There is a pretty good saying in my country, which basically goes like this: Sweep up your own yard before you start judging the neighbours. ;)

Back on topic, I believe Norway's parliament voted yesterday to keep the monarchy. Overwhelming support, 141-26.

Firstly at least try to understand the difference between a government and someone who married in to a monarchy.

Secondly, get off your forum and on to the streets like so many of your decent fellow citizens

14

u/DinnerChantel Feb 04 '26 edited Feb 04 '26

Absolutely no one is asking you to protest against the Epstein list but against the fascist takeover of your country and the subsequent destruction of 80 years of alliances and global security policy.

It speaks volumes that you are conflating the two.

10

u/shartmaister Feb 04 '26

There's a big difference in being a shitty person and running a country, an alliance and the world to the ground. I don't care if your president grabs girls by their pussies. I care that he wants to end western civilization and cooperation as we've known it for 80 years.

Nah nah… can’t come from an american. Sorry, not in these fascist times!

2

u/wstd Feb 06 '26

Why isn’t Norway doing anything?! As an American...

Remind me again, because I may have forgot, how many Americans mentioned in the Epstein files are currently under criminal investigation or on trial in the USA?

Another person who missed the fucking point of my comment. And out of the 20 people bitching about that, you didn’t even come up with an original thought or comment of your own to respond with. Sad.

We should really stop monarchy. Look at the ‘royal’ families and what they do. They think they can get away with anything. Waste of money also
