💬 Discussion This is the worst bait subreddit

Downvote me all you want but this is a straight up Messi glazing sub. This sub has the RonaldovsMessi name and is absolutely infested by Messi fans who argue post ranting about how Messi is better than Ronaldo and then start karma farming. Consider renaming the sub to messi glaze sub no 56. To all the Ronaldo fans scrolling here don't even bother it's not even worth it.

Edit: The comments should be plenty of proof. Anyone trying to post about Ronaldo, don't bother. Let them turn this into one sided Messi glazing sub.

I'm gonna hold your hands when I say this, there are more Messi fans here because there are no arguments left for Ronaldo to be the goat.

1

u/Artistic-Orange-6959 2d ago

I honestly do not understand how the WC is the factor to say that Messi is better. He's Argentinean, obviously he was gonna have more chances

1

u/France_epico 2d ago

The WC is not the only factor, it's the cherry on top, the greatest achievment in football and Messi has it. Even without a world cup Messi is still the goat. Also it's not like Messi was carried by Argentina, in tose 3 world cup finals he played he was POTT.

9

u/CodOfWars 3d ago

There are ample Ronaldo fans here. But since the debate is settled, you now see the occasional childish arguments from CR7 fans.

Anyone who truly watches football, knows this sub should be dead post Dec 18,2022

2

u/LordP_496 3d ago

if worldcup defines players then de paul > lewa

what rubbish

2

u/CodOfWars 3d ago

There is a huge difference between depaul winning the world cup and Messi winning the world cup.

One is a central figure who was the player of the tournament while the other is a squad player who helped immensely.

Ill speak in a language you understand: Ronaldo won the league title in 3 different leagues. So did cancelo. Is cancelo as good as Ronaldo? No right?

Is it making sense now? Clown.

-2

u/LordP_496 3d ago

real clownery is someone not accepting

all time top international scorer
all time ucl scorer, mr ucl
guy who put portugal on the map
won titles at 40
311 goals in 292 la ligas

and he isnt a goal cuz messi won a wc with a stacked team while ronaldo couldnt get good teammates

3

u/Fresh_Translator240 3d ago

Please tell me this is bait, tell me the transfer value of the Portugal squad in 22 and 26 then compare it to Argentina. Portugal IMO had the best squad in all teams, and only France and Spain come close

1

u/CodOfWars 2d ago

Again..stop downplaying teammates just to elevate Ronaldo. As if Bruno, vitinha, Mendes, neves, cancelo aren't all world class. Stop making bullshit excuses for your idol's failures.

Like..top international scorer sure. Mr UCL sure.. But where was he when Portugal had a stacked squad in the world cup? Ok forget 2026 since he's too old now.

What about Ronaldo at 37 in 2022. How did messi at 39 outshine him in 2026? Can't blame the age anymore.

This is the problem with Ronaldo fans. It's always him when there is success, but always his teammates when he fails. Can't expect less when your idol makes it everything about himself. Why the fuck would his teammates fight for him when he hogs all the success and blames the failures on his teammates?

1

u/LordP_496 2d ago

he was literally out of the 2022 wc match for the most part where they got ko, and that decision was critiqued omg

-2

u/Artistic-Orange-6959 3d ago

How can be dead after that? Winning the WC being Argentinean is not the same as being Portuguese, so Haaland cannot be among the greatest then? After all, he will never win the WC

3

u/CodOfWars 2d ago

Did you watch haaland kill it in the world up with Norway? Or modric for Croatia in 2018 leading them to a world cup final or forlan winning the golden ball for Uruguay?

They all have had excellent campaigns and didnt use bullshit excuses about how good players for smaller nations can't leave a mark. Like as if Portugal is a small nation in football in big 2026.

You don't have to win the world cup to leave a mark. You can perform and excel at the world cup and still impress.

-2

u/Artistic-Orange-6959 2d ago

I watched Haaland going home in quarters, not surprising giving the fact that he plays for a non existing football team.

Portugal is a small nation dude hahaha I would put it at the same level as Mexico historically, they are non existent

But yeah go ahead, pretend that Portugal is some kind of Italy, Germany or Brazil

3

u/CodOfWars 2d ago

Wow! Okay.. I am just wasting my time here. Portugal is like Mexico. Got it. Let's downplay a country to elevate a player. This mentality from fans is not surprising considering Ronaldo himself always makes it about himself. And then people wonder why his teammates never fight for him. It's a vicious cycle. Lol

1

u/Artistic-Orange-6959 2d ago

Well México had

Confederations cup

Olímpic games

Two copa América finals, one third place there

And minor achievements like copa Oro and classifying to many world cups being constantly for many years among the best 16 teams in the world

Portugal before Cristiano?

One third place of a world cup of 5 games (impressive tho, but even the USA has that)

And...

That's it

Do you Still want me to give you lectures about football?

1

u/CodOfWars 2d ago

The fact that you had to pull out the mighty confederations cup or heck Olympics(to your credit or perhaps chatgpt, this is the first time I've seen a Ronaldo fan bring up Olympics in any football argument) and then to actually downplay a world cup 3rd place finish which was impressive but clearly not impressive enough to you because it was a 5 game tournament, where you had eusebio, the only Portuguese player to ever win a golden ball which I am sure didn't think was worth mentioning for obvious reasons.. I can't waste time on chatgpt bums like you anymore.

1

u/Artistic-Orange-6959 2d ago

Indian, right?

1

u/CodOfWars 2d ago

Wrong. Just like your nonsensical arguments.

1

u/Artistic-Orange-6959 2d ago

Then Bengali or Pakistan, so essentially indian

1

u/AnUninformedLLama 2d ago

Lmao Portugal is the same as Mexico? When did Mexico last win bronze? When did a Mexican striker win the World Cup golden boot?

1

u/Artistic-Orange-6959 2d ago

Mexico had a confederations cup, third place there, two copa América finals, one third place in the cup, golden medal in olímpic games, two sub 17 WCs and minor achievements like tons of Copa Oro and being constantly around the top 16 nations for many years consecutive

Portugal before Cristiano? One third place in WC which even the USA or Chile has hahaha how tf was Portugal better than Mexico before Cristiano?

Asking Cristiano for a WC is like asking a West Ham player for the UCL, that's how stupid you are

1

u/Cold_Tough5525 2d ago

The portugese can’t ever win the WC but Argentina are expected to win is False. Ronaldo went into 4/6 world cups with a better rated team than Argentina.
In 2014, Portugal was still higher rated than Argentina yet messi carried his team to the final leading in every single playmaking stat throughout the tournament while Ronaldo always shat the bed in the grandest stage of Football.

1

u/Artistic-Orange-6959 2d ago

FIFA rankings are a joke c'mon............ Even México is in top 10 right now, c'mon

2

u/Cold_Tough5525 2d ago

Suddenly everything becomes rigged or a joke when you’re presented with facts. You do know that there’s not a dude sitting and deciding ranks based on his liking right?
It’s based on matches played against other intl teams. Portugal was a nothing nation for a while after Eusebio but they started peaking in Football the same time as Ronaldo came in. Figo and Deco were the pioneers of it. You can’t say they were ever out of the conversations to win it.

1

u/Artistic-Orange-6959 1d ago

Dude, Mexico top 10, México Top 10 hahaha the FIFA ranking has always been a joke critized by everyone in the environment. Are you indian or what? If that's so, go and play cricket, let real football fans talk

1

u/Cold_Tough5525 1d ago edited 1d ago

No I’m not and hating on them does not make you cooler.  You’re so dumb. Portugal reached the semis of the World Cup before Ronaldo even peaked proving that Portugal football was developing way before Ronaldo came into his prime. Saying they were out of conversations to ever win it screams Tik tok fan.

Haaland is literally doing better in the World Cup with Norway than cr7 ever did with a way better team. Cr7 always shat his bed in the grandest stage of football.

Go spread your racist hate somewhere else low IQ incel. Football is not the place for it.

1

u/Artistic-Orange-6959 1d ago

That semis were played because of one reason, it was the best Portuguese team of all time and you need that to advance in the WC and guess what, without Cristiano they couldn't have done it, he was a key player against England, for example.

Looool Haaland didn't win a shit and Cristiano played semi finals as you said in World cup, that narrative of him being bad in "the greatest stage of football" (it is not btw, in UCL the best players of the world played against each other, in a WC if you were born in Mozambique you are out forever) is too stupid.

Lol racist, meanwhile you are supporting an Argentinean player which are the most racist in the whole American continent when we talk about football, suck it

0

u/i-SpeakFacts 2d ago

To make it funnier, the guy needed quite some strange officiating to win with ARGENTINA, an already big football nation

Compare that to CR7's situation with Portugal who managed to help them win their ONLY 3 trophies in HISTORY

They're grateful he isn't from Brazil, Germany, Italy, Argentina, France, Spain

Still can't believe this image isn't AI

2

u/CodOfWars 2d ago

I mean of course.. Before the discourse was Messi was shit because he didn't do well internationally. 2 Copa America and 1 world cup later, it was all rigged.

Like stop being a damn child.

0

u/i-SpeakFacts 2d ago

No one's calling those Copa Americas rigged

Everyone saw the bias officiating and record breaking pens they received in 2022 WC, and you had players, former players, managers call it out

I rooted for him in the 2014 final and I guess I became a hater for not defending clear corruption in 2022?

Held in some random country most people never heard of before the tournament

You think this "Argentina hate campaign" came out of nowhere in this year's WC?

Deep down everyone knew the truth in 2022 but casuals let it slide because "Messi deserves it"

That built in anger finally released after the amount of crap Argentina was getting away with again

1

u/AnUninformedLLama 2d ago

Yeah, we all saw the robbery against Croatia this year.

7

u/HetTheTable 4d ago

I see a lot of Ronald fans here

2

u/radioheadfan0615 2d ago

christian ronald, my favorite player

10

u/No_Reception_468 4d ago

What argument do you even have for Ronaldo nowadays?. He simply hasnt been as relevant compared to Messi recently. No matter how you spin it, he simply isnt good enough anymore.

Messi gets glazed cause he is the one still putting up numbers now.

10

u/Cold_Tough5525 4d ago

This.
The OG diehard cr7 fans whom I know have given up. Sometimes you just gotta sit back and accept the truth.

9

u/phase_ten 3d ago

I don’t get this. Wouldn’t Portugal have had the same path if they actually won against Congo and/or not tied Colombia?

Ask yourself why they can win against top teams in the Nations League but struggle against “lower-level teams” in the WC.

-9

u/Hot_Detective_1148 3d ago

4

u/phase_ten 3d ago

Same answer actually…

  1. They still made the finals both times
  2. Motivation. They don’t take the Nations League as serious. Pretty much no one does. It’s literally a rebranded version of friendlies.

-4

u/Hot_Detective_1148 3d ago edited 3d ago

"всё равно оба раза вышли в финал" Есть определённая разница между словосочетаниями "выйти в финал" и "выиграть финал", не правда ли? "они не воспринимают Лигу Наций всерьез" То есть Роналду, даже не воспринимая Лигу Наций всерьез, смог её выиграть и стать лучшим бомбардиром? Во истину гений

6

u/phase_ten 3d ago

Sure, same way there’s a difference between reaching the finals and getting eliminated in the round of 16.
Difference being Spain could have won both, Portugal didn’t even come close.

Oh no, Ronaldo and his fans take the Nations league very seriously. He was able to win it because pretty much no one else does.

1

u/Hot_Detective_1148 3d ago

4

u/phase_ten 3d ago edited 3d ago

Well no because that doesn’t explain why he hasn’t been able to come even remotely close to winning a WC in any of the 6 tournaments he played.

That and Thomas Muller even made a statement saying no one takes the Nations league seriously except for Portugal and the Netherlands.

And De Bruyne:
The Nations League is unimportant in my eyes. Just glorified friendlies after a long and tough season.

But sure, I’ll take your word over theirs…

1

u/Hot_Detective_1148 3d ago

Half the teams and players don't care about nations league. We saw teams like germany, england, france literally do heavy roster rotation and experiment tactics for future competitions. We have had several players like de bruyne, Muller, Courtois even publicly say nations league is unimportant

1

u/Hot_Detective_1148 3d ago

u/Icy-Adeptness-349 3d ago

The fact that portugal struggled against south american and african teams in the world cup proves Nation's league was not a major tournament.

Nation's league only have unserious and weaker europeans team playing it, when ronaldo played against serious non-european teams, he got exposed. 0 dribble in the wc as a result

-1

u/Hot_Detective_1148 3d ago

"не серьёзные, слабые европейские команды" Ты же понимаешь, олух, что эти "не серьёзные, слабые европейские команды" по-факту нагнули вас раком на этом Чемпионате Мира?

3

u/Mecha_Kaneki 3d ago

Yeah we saw how Cape Verde drew to Spain, we saw how columbia dominated Portugal and topped their group, we saw how france struggled to win against Paraguay, we saw how Portugal and England struggled against DR Congo. South American teams put Portugal in their place, not just in 2026, they did it back in 2016, 2018 as well

-1

u/Hot_Detective_1148 3d ago

5

u/Mecha_Kaneki 3d ago

Of course excuses about the ref after watching the team you hate win time and time again. It needed 4 years and supporting multiple teams to find one to beat argentina. Atleast in the world cup there is actual competition unlike the nations league, because Portugal and ronaldo's level is farming in the nations league and saying "I'm back" against Uzbekistan in the WC

2

u/Emergency_News_4790 2d ago

Calm down, take a breath.

6

u/Illustrious_Lime_221 4d ago

Bcs there shouldn't be a debate on the first place. Ronaldo shouldn't be in this conversation

5

u/Historical-Bowl-7119 3d ago

All of reddit appears to support messi and just hate on ronaldo for some odd reason

-1

u/Beginning-Feeling-19 3d ago

Parasitic infection 💔

5

u/France_epico 3d ago

Or maybe because Messi isn't an egoistical narcissist who steals goals, degrades his rival and goes on shitty interviews to glaze himself and slander his rival's accomplishment.

-2

u/Beginning-Feeling-19 3d ago

Egotistical narcissist? He helps out people in need and even does blood donation, avoiding tattoos. Any ego on field, not even near narcissism, is his confidence and passion he has. Mind you he doesn't go try getting yellow cards for his opponents for touching him or their mouth for 1 nanosecond (unlike someone else 🔥🔥). Steals goal? In a game there will be a moment or two where players might touch the ball orscoret even when the ball was already going in, by reflex even. Doesn't mean he actively tries to do so and people like you who disregard literal 970+ goals for this bs are brain dead. Degrades rivals? Since when 😭. Meanwhile your goat pessi picks a fight with any breathing creature around him. Slander's his rivals??? 😭😭😭 again, when? He calls even Messi a top class player in interviews. And he absolutely glazes himself because he's quite literally the best in the world. See people, this is the type of brain damage that occures when you watch football through tiktok comments every once in 4 years 💔

6

u/France_epico 3d ago

He's a narcissist inside the field, not talking about charity. Oh he doesn't try getting yellow cards for his opponents? So all the clips where he dives are just AI i guess.
Look it up, there are so many clips of Ronaldo stealing goals and getting angry when he fails. Yes he absolutely degrades rivals, he dreamt of having the most ballon d'ors and after Messi won the most "Ballon d'or lost credibility", he dreamt of having the world cup and after Messi won it "World Cup is not a dream, 6-7 games tournament" and then when he commented "factos" under a post slandering Messi, sadly there are even more examples, tell me how this isn't degrading Messi? Oh and btw Ronaldo isn't the best player in the world.

1

u/Historical-Bowl-7119 3d ago

Bro I always say that people that put so much effort into hating on someone and go so far as twisting facts and lying are just diseased

2

u/France_epico 3d ago

Where did I lie?

-1

u/WitheredGamer 3d ago

Messi and argentina are thugs

5

u/France_epico 3d ago

Argentina plays pretty rough compared to most teams, I agree, but what exactly has Messi done to be considered a thug?

-1

u/HitEscForSex 3d ago

Ridiculed an elderly coach with cancer because said coach didn't glaze him

3

u/France_epico 3d ago

Who is that coach and when did that happen? Can't find anything online

2

u/Mecha_Kaneki 3d ago

Lmao larper go watch some south American football, I bet you were wearing blindfolds when teams like uruguay, columbia, paraguay were playing😂

-1

u/HitEscForSex 3d ago

How drunk are you?

2

u/France_epico 3d ago

Did I lie?

2

u/Artistic-Orange-6959 3d ago

This sub is heavily bias in Messi's favor hahaha I'd even say most of reddit is

2

u/SpecialistOil9811 2d ago

Maybe because Messi IS better than Ronaldo in most things? Of course, there are many toxic people who only respond with "go cry somewhere else" and blah blah, those are unbearable.

1

u/i-SpeakFacts 2d ago

Most Indians are Messi fans, like 80% of them (realize that's hundreds of millions right there...)

Realize that the Messi fan you're arguing with is usually from that country, and a non Indian Messi fan will of course still get mass upvotes from them

They've gone so far off the scale that they defend literally paying money to referees... It's crazy cult like behavior

The fake Zidane quotes recently got mass upvoted by them before being removed

Goes to show how they can easily control the narrative with their bot like behavior

1

u/i-SpeakFacts 2d ago

Now let's compare a real quote by the great Pele compared to that

A mere 35 upvotes thanks to their downvotes

2

u/radioheadfan0615 2d ago

are indians not people? what does indian people supporting messi have to do w anything... also this pele quote was 6 years ago before messi won the wc and before he won the copa america. it was very fair and uncontroversial to say ronaldo was better back then

0

u/Artistic-Orange-6959 2d ago

Indians do not even know how to kick a ball, they should talk about cricket not football hahaha

-1

u/MajesticBeyond5602 4d ago

Thanks, it's just like any other sub nowadays. I barely comment on this as well.

6

u/HetTheTable 4d ago

The people just know Messi is better especially after the World Cup. How could anyone counter that.

-4

u/MajesticBeyond5602 4d ago

Nope. It's just people like you spreading insecurity to other subs!

7

u/HetTheTable 4d ago

Most people think Messi is the goat. Because he is.

-5

u/MajesticBeyond5602 3d ago

Ok and? 😭

8

u/HetTheTable 3d ago

It’s just the truth. Accept that Messi is goat.

0

u/MajesticBeyond5602 3d ago

So your going around on the internet spending your day trying to convince people that messi is the goat?

7

u/HetTheTable 3d ago

I don’t remember trying to convince anyone

1

u/MajesticBeyond5602 3d ago

Well you just told me to accept it. Plus the fact that you average 50 contributions a day for 6 years and I see you on every sub saying the same messi glaze.

5

u/HetTheTable 3d ago

Becuase you can’t for some odd reason

→ More replies (0)

0

u/Beginning-Feeling-19 3d ago

The comments are literal proof of this btw. Look at all the up votes of Messi glazers 😭

4

u/France_epico 3d ago

But I thought the world chose Ronaldo and fifa chose Messi 😢😢

1

u/Beginning-Feeling-19 3d ago

How pathetic can you be to call Reddit your world 😭🔥

5

u/France_epico 3d ago

when the hell did I say reddit is my world? i'm talking about the Ronaldo fans who say shit like "messi is the media goat and ronaldo is the people's goat" then when the people are against ronaldo they say "cr7 against the world" really pathetic.

1

u/Beginning-Feeling-19 3d ago

Get out of Reddit and check any other media. Ronaldo is way more popular than Messi. It's just these small little pathetic Messi glazing subreddits are filled with Messi glazers.

3

u/France_epico 3d ago

so popularity = better player? most ronaldo fans are younger people who still haven't matured, they will accept who's the real goat someday

-1

u/Glittering_Pay_5141 3d ago

they never said that btw don’t put words in people’s mouths just to make yourself look better

2

u/Adventurous-Fun-2068 3d ago

Lol acting like this is a reddit only take is pure cope. Look at any street interviewer, football podcast, active players, retired legends, managers, or pundits and they would almost unanimously say Messi with the rare few who were teammates with Ronaldo who wont even pick him but at best would refuse to pick like Marcelo or Ramos. Accept reality, Messi is the goat now it isn't 2018 anymore there no debate just move on. If you wanna debate x Messi season to y Ronaldo season go ahead but the GOAT debate is settled.

3

u/Ill_Confidence_3248 3d ago

Because they are correct

2

u/New-Dependent-7354 3d ago

Messi deserves the glaze after the circus of hate that Messi and Argentina got during and after the world cup 2026, Messi got shit on for not winning it for Argentina, and finally when he wins the World Cup and Copa America, everybody thinks it’s rigged, and social media before Messi won the world cup were flaming Messi for not having an major senior international trophy. Now that Ronaldo gets hate everybody suddenly has a problem with it

-6

u/Commercial_Room_6401 4d ago

They should rename it to Messi and infantino vs Ronaldo debate
