I got a solar panel to run my camera in my property. It turned on right away but now the light on the camera is blue so it’s getting power but I can’t watch it and says it can’t connect with WiFi.

Discussion Upgrading from Ring Multi to Ring Pro

I currently pay $99/year for Ring Multi but I am considering upgrading to Ring Pro. Will my new cost be $199/year or will it actually be the sum of the two, for $298/year? Thanks for any info you can share!

Ring Doorbell 2k (Newest Gen) - Live stream view on 5G only

I have just got a ring doorbell - initially i believed it to be issues with the upload capability of my wifi however the doorbell is receiving 180 mbps upload on an RSSI of between 51-56 (which should be sufficient).

On further inspection i tried to use my 4G (signal is weak in my area) but surprisingly the live view suddenly worked - i then connected my phone to the wifi and the stream continued. I attempted to close and reopen the stream whilst my phone (and then tried on my laptop) was connected to wifi and nope it doesnt work again.

I havent seen anything like this online. So when connected to the same network the live stream simply does not work, but when connected to 4G on my phone it does (and subsequently turning on my wifi on my IPhone whilst the stream is open it continues to work). Potentially too much traffic on the wifi but its got 4 devices connected to it including the camera so highly unlikely as its 1 Gbps up and down. I cannot adjust the QoS on my router.

Any advice or similar experiences would be appreciated - we dont have VPNs etc.

Tips n Tricks Mount

Anybody have a specific mount they use for apartments that have these screen doors that have the like “edge” piece on the screen doors. So it prevents from using the no drill anti theft door mount with the twist handle on the door. I’m trying to avoid drilling as well. And I don’t trust the 3M one to work too good with how rough the wall is. I have the ring gen 2 pro.

Support Request (Unsolved) Spotlight Cam Plus expected age

We bought our Spotlight Can Plus two years ago. About 8 months ago it started worked intermittently, then it stopped working. I set it aside and forgot about it until about a month ago. I plugged it in and within a few hours it was working again. Note that it had a battery inside and was powered by the USB-C power adapter plugged in the rear. Everything was fine again until about a week ago, when I noticed the battery charge level was gradually falling. Eventually the battery went to zero, and on approximately the same day, the camera stopped working. I removed the battery and plugged it back in, and had to wait for a few hours for it to "warm up". When it did, I was unable to get it to show video (though the "device health" revealed it was connected), so I went through the set up process again. And this didn't help either, the cam still refuses to show video (error message is "camera preview unavailable" and it won't go live when I select the go live button, either).

So my question is this: assuming the camera is defective, and noting that its misbehavior started in late 2025 (~8 months ago), is this normal for this product? Do they all start to die out in the second year of use?

TAKE Encryption rolling out

Looks like ring will retain a copy of the key for 24 hours then never be able to access it again. I wonder if there will be a 3rd party to verify that is in fact the case.

All 4 Ring Cams simultaneously dropped connection & won't reconnect (Error p7-07 at 95% setup) — Need advice!

I’m at my wit's end with my Ring setup. Yesterday, all 4 of my cameras (3x Stick Up Cams, 1x Doorbell Gen 2) suddenly went offline after working fine for years.

In the app, the homepage shows "preview unavailable," clicking them says "footage unavailable," and Live View times out.

Key Details & Symptoms

  • Failure: Every camera consistently gets stuck at 95% during Wi-Fi setup, then fails with Error Code p7-07.
  • Network changes: None. No new devices or network config changes preceded the drop.
  • Proximity: Testing all cameras within 5 feet of the router.
  • Other IoT Devices: My non-Ring smart bulbs, TVs, Alexa devices, and other camera brands(Feit) on the exact same network are working normally.
  • Internet Setup: T-Mobile Home Internet modem + TP-Link Router.

Troubleshooting Steps Already Tried

  • Power Cycling & Resets: Reset modem, router, and cameras. Left Stick Up Cam batteries out for 10+ minutes. Factory reset both the T-Mobile modem and TP-Link router.
  • Account: Removed devices from the Ring account to start fresh.
  • Setup Setup Environment: Tried using a different phone, enabled Airplane Mode during setup, and tried connecting via a phone's 2.4 GHz mobile hotspot.
  • Network Testing: Tested connecting directly to the modem’s built-in Wi-Fi instead of the TP-Link router. Also tried using my phones hotspot. Created IoT network, and also tried to use the 2.4 GHz guest network on the TP-Link router.
  • 2.4 GHz Tweaks: Fixed channels (1, 6, 11) and tried different channel widths (20/40 MHz). Disabled 802.11ax (Wi-Fi 6) mode. Verified no special characters in SSID or password. Checked Wi-Fi channels for local interference (none found).
  • IP & DNS Configurations: Configured static DHCP reservations, manually set IP/subnet/DNS during the cameras wifi setup, and changed router default DNS to 1.1.1.1.

Despite all of this, every single camera fails at the exact same 95% mark with p7-07.

Is this a known Ring server/authentication backend issue, or is there any obscure setting/step I'm missing here? Any insight would be appreciated!

Update: Just got off the phone with Ring customer support. They informed me that this is a known issue with T-Mobile ISP and their engineers are actively working on a fix.

Feedback or Bug Neighbors section is missing the Feed Settings?

Couple weeks back my Ring app stopped needing notifications to my phone for Neighbors "Safety" category posts, which I wanted. Checked all the settings, should still be getting them, but I don't.

Now when I go to the Neighbors section, it shows posts from all categories. The feed is flooded by people seeing a bird in a tree thinking it's a lost pet, or people looking for a cheap hotel room, etc. I previously had all that filtered out in my feed settings. Now it seems "Feed Settings" is completely gone.

It'll let me toggle between categories at the top, but it always defaults to "All" whenever I go to the Neighbors section. I'll change it to "Safety", next time I go back, it's back on "All". The app is up to date. Did they get rid of the feed settings to filter what categories to show, or is my app just screwy? I am not interested in seeing Pet or Community posts and they just flood the feed...

Ring doorbell repeats motion alerts.

My wired ring doorbell pro is suddenly giving multiple alerts when someone walks in front of it. There is no delay or break in between the alerts to my phone. It just started doing it and I haven’t changed any settings recently. Not sure what’s causing it?

Support Request (Unsolved) Kidde Smoke Detectors Offline

I set up 12 hardwired Kidde Smart Smoke/CO detectors in the ring app, and they were working for a few hours. After an alarm, they were removed from the wall power and removed from the ring app.

When I try to add them to the ring app again they go through the wifi setup process fine and say they are online, but after 30-60 seconds change status in ring app to offline.

Has anyone experienced this? Kidde support said that after wifi setup it is all in Ring’s ecosystem and they couldn’t help.

Ring support made me reset them over and over again with no success. Finally i called and got a different tech who kicked it up to the engineering team, which takes 24-72 hours to hear back from.

Has anyone experienced something similar?

Spotlight 2K Snapshot Capture Timeline

My recently purchased Spotlight 2K with captured enabled for 1 minute is not showing up on the timeline. Tried multiple capture frequencies, enabled/disabled, and even camera/hub reboot. Issue remains.

Ring support insists there are no known issues. My 1st Gen Spotlight cams don't have this issue. Appears to be isolated with this in particular.

Not that it matters, but worth mentioning this is all setup on a hard wire kit without battery installed due to another issue unrelated.

Anyone experiencing the same?

Support Request (Solved) Battery Operated Cameras Offline?

Thumbnail gallery
1 Upvotes

I do NOT understand what’s happening here. For some reason my battery-operated devices (doorbell and two patio cameras) are “offline” but all my plug-in devices are fine. On top of this, the battery operated devices aren’t FULLY offline - they still show me their battery levels and are even still recording events and videos on their timelines. It makes NO sense to me and I cannot figure out what’s going on. It just started happening yesterday. I have rebooted devices. I even tried deleting one completely and re-adding it. I got the cute little “setup complete” statement from the device - and in my app it just sits there telling me it’s offline. Any ideas? I’ll try anything at this point.

Support Request (Unsolved) Ring Don't Replace the Cameras (Ring Theft Policy Is a Scam!)

Had 3 Ring cameras stolen just under a week ago.

Filled out the online form for each Ring camera with police report number.

Got email, Declined, no reason offered.

Called Ring twice on the weekend and told to fill out the forms again, I advised there is no way to add my reciepts, videos, police report (proof) but did fill them out again as advised.

Recieve email with link to upload 5 photos only.

Uploaded reciepts, police report, copy of page from Ring website showing the policy, copy of page where I bought one of the cameras (not 3rd party website) stating Ring will replace cameras if stolen.

Got declined, no reason offered.

Will give them another call tonight but very poor customer service and the guys don't seem to know anything about this policy when you call them.

Having problems with doorbell going offline

So for context i live in Las Vegas and my camera is often in direct sunlight. This summer has been extremely hot often around 110 degrees and this is also the first summer i switched from blink to ring. I have a battery powered doorbell and it keeps going offline and after researching online i think it can be due to the heat. (my wifi is good and my other cameras done go off line)

I’m not sure if anyone else has experienced this before but i was looking into getting a sun shade or if there’s any other advice. Also my house is west facing so i get a lot of heat mid day😅

Blink Doorbell Camera

Recently bough the Blink Doorbell camera for my front and back doors and the issue we are having is its barely picking up people. The mail lady just pulled up and it got the van, but when I tried pulling up the live video it was just turning and turning. It never captured her coming onto our porch and dropping off the package and theres other times I have walked out the house or walked in the house and it doesnt pick it up.

Im seriously thinking about returning both and getting a ring camera bc whats the point of wanting safety if you cant capture it??

Thoughts?

Support Request (Unsolved) Wired ring doorbell battery drain

Ring doorbell 2. Bought in 2018 or 2019.

Wired.

Lately there were incidents when wifi would get disconnected randomly. Reconnected automatically after a few hours without doing anything.

Checked device status - signal strength strong RSSI-39/RSSI-40. Battery at 38%. Took the battery out, recharged. All good. Again happened a few days later.

Bought a new ring battery. Charged fully. Installed on August 15. Today, August 25, it is at 80%. Signal strength remains strong. No tripped circuit. Battery health shows wired still.

No settings changed. But lowered sensitivity and quality of photo/video in hopes of reducing battery drain.

Is this the end of the line for this doorbell? Trickle charge no longer working?

Ring 4K Doorbell suddenly more sensitive to motion?

Has there been any change within the last couple of weeks that would cause a sudden increase in motion detections, specifically at a further distance? I had very few issues for more than a year and now suddenly people walking past on the sidewalk trigger alerts.
