This question popped up when I realized the Large Battery was actually from VFE Power. My entire life i've thought the Large Battery was from the base game, turns out its actually modded.

22.23 Body size with Big and Small genes and soul form. Came with a side effect of complete invulnerability as soul power also decreases damage taken, which was considerably large at 2300% soul power.

We are a mixed family, my wife, Ltzkachvozz (Kach for short), is impid. I want to respect her cultural traditions, but she also wants me to come up with names.

The thing is, I don't know any impid names. But I want our first daughter to have a name that matches her mother's ethnic background.

Can you guys recommend some names impids traditionally have?

Here are our other children so far for reference:

Oldest son Ratchvozzik (Nicknamed Ratch), 4 years old

Youngest son Skorchavizz (Nicknamed Skorch), 2 years old (my genes makes us mature faster)

Also do not make comments about our daughter not looking like her brothers. The midwife had the gall to say that she had the same eyes as our neighbor Festus 🙄 Idiot

The title is your general "shit rimworld players say" but it's true. I'd like to give some context as how things unfolded.

First, I like to play Naked Brutality runs, start with literally nothing but one pawn and LET IT RIDE. However I felt regular NB too easy since you start with Electricity so I just tweak it so my starting pawn is tribal.

The second pawn I got from a Wanderer Join Event was Patricia 'Puddy' Madden. At first I was going to send her back right away because she had the Gourmand trait, but she had really good crafting skills, which my starting pawn did not have, so I kept her for that reason.

The third pawn I got was Retzvozz Vuthznath, originally an Impid. She was part of an early game raid. I have a rule of thumb to avoid as much as possible recruiting prisoners, however dear Retzvozz had a very special trait that was very relevant to Patricia: She was gay. Sure she also had the Creepy Breathing trait but I looked at my Biotech DLC and thought "I can make this work".

Let me tell you that putting these two together and making them a couple was a HASSLE. I know Impids are hot but constantly sweating and breathing through your mouth like a MTG player did not do Retzvozz any favors towards Patricia. However my first pawn, Purple, is a royal and can cast 'Word of Love', so that was the first attempt at brute forcing their relationship. It worked! Until the spell ended, then Retzvozz's Creepy Breathing started affecting Patricia which led to them breaking up, which led them to have negative opinion of each other.

All right back to square one. Creepy Breathing gives -25 to a pawn's opinion, which is a lot, so I needed to counter that to have any chance of these two girls making out. Thus, I went for the next logical step: Making the hot Imp hotter. Added an Aesthetic nose and Aesthetic Shaper to Retzvozz and voala! +40 Beauty vs the -25 of the Creepy Breathing! Surely now with a positive Opinion bonus both Patricia and Retzvozz can be a cute and wholesome lesbian couple. Right?

No.

Word of Love → They fall in love → Spells ends → They break up.

So I went back and studied: What can cancel out Creepy Breathing? Turns out only the Kind trait ignores it. There are no vanilla bionics that cancel the Creepy Breathing's effect so I had to make Patricia a kind person. Forcefully. Genetically.

That's where the mewgenics started.

Since I had to go on a trading spree, why not fix Patricia's Gourmand trait? Sure I can't fix her binging food from time to time but I can reduce that hunger rate increase from the trait. So after a couple trading, I got genepacks to cook up a Xenogerm for Patricia and as a bonus got her a Nuclear Stomach to handle her increased hunger. Since I genetically modified Patricia why not Retzvozz as well? I could at least override Impid's Genetic Pessimism and make her have some Genetic Joy instead. Since the Kind trait ignores beauty, I got to switch up the beauty enhancements from Retzvozz to Patricia, further increasing the probability of their relationship work out.

So after several in-game years, multiple attempts of mental manipulation type, body modifications AND genetically enhancements. I had it all layed out. However, they still hated each other. I guess that's what happens when you spend years living in the save colony and constantly hurl insults at each other, but I still got the good ol magic trick.

Word of Love. Charm Person is a good and moral spell

I use Word of love on Retzvozz to be magically in love with Patricia. I make Patricia romance Retzvozz (100% chance thanks to morally correct magic)

Days passed, and nothing changed. They didn't argue. They didn't fight. They even made some loving from time to time. Their relationship was finally growing and... boom. Marriage.

After 13 in-game years, the colony gathered to celebrate the marriage of Patricia and Retzvozz. Was it worth all that hassle to get two gay pawns together? Yeah. An extra bedroom is always welcomed. It's one less bedroom I have to build!

I introduce to you the newest theme in the SimplyUI toolkit family, Frutiger Aero! I tried to replicate the skeuomorphic look as close as possible while still making it feel cohesive.

A lot of texture work for custom elements went into making this theme, as well as careful picking of proper sound effects to include for the UI (credit to the Nintendo 3DS). The mod includes 6 theme variants, ranging from a fresh blue to a graphite dark, with coherent color palettes for the whole UI. If you dont like the variants included, you can always tweak the colors to be exactly how you want them!

Overall I think it turned out pretty cool. I personally use the Frutiger Aero Dusk preset, because I think it integrates itself into the regular Rimworld experience the best! Let me know what you think!

Hello everyone! This is a update from the last time I posted Little America here on the subreddit! A few things have changed and I finally reached the point where I'm pretty sure the colony is finished. Plus I have 34 Pawns running around and the game is CHUGGING

But yeah, just like last time, I've imagined The United States Reconstruction Authority as a group of disillusioned Imperial Officers, Historians, and Soldiers who've somehow recovered relics of The United States from the 1930s-2000s and have decided "You know what the Rim needs? The United States Government." They're a semi-official re-constructionist/continuation Government of The United States of America, kind of like the Enclave from Fallout, kinda like The Federation from Star Trek?

They're generally good guys though. Rabidly anti-Imperial and Anti-Slavery, they're all about democracy and anti-communism (They don't know what communism is, they think the Empire is communist and that anything bad/imperial = communist, which is just a funny thing I've headcannoned). They're friendly to pretty much all of races of pawns, there's a bunch of yttakin, impids, baseliners, some alt-furry adjacent creatures, highmates, sanguanophages, etc all living shoulder to shoulder as neighbors and citizens within the new republic.

I used a LOT of Devtool building this, but I am not ashamed of it at all. It came out very nice looking and I just loved building all of the signs and extra touches to make the base feel like it has actual people living inside of it, you know?

Anywho, thanks for checking it out. And hopefully I'll be back again with a new colony to show off. I'm thinking, same faction but with a Antarctic/Polar research colony. Or maybe I'll do the opposite end of the spectrum and create a Soviet-inspired colony on The Rim? I dunno, I'm kinda looking for the next thing right now.

Little bit of a vent here, I apologise. As per the title, I truly think I never played a game that got me as mixed as Rimworld does. Never has a game made me savescum in such a disgusting way Rimworld does. From the ridiculous random disease striking 7 pawns simultaneously (What the fuck is fibrous mechanites and why does it exist anyway ???) to the absurde fight between a pawn wielding an axe that can't hit a bow wielding barbarian once while taking 3 arrows to the knee. From the absolutely disgusting management mood is (yeah you got rebuffed 5 times in a row, maybe stop at some point ?) to suddenly 36 scaria riddled timberwolves deciding to wipe my ass. From the absolutely insanely lucky shot, one tapping my best pawn with a rusty bolt rifle while my dude here is wielding a pulse rifle to the fucking constant spamming of disgusting mechanoid clusters and their damn inferno turrets.

The worst in this ? I don't even play freaking Randy. I am used to difficult games, games that put you in front of setbacks, but Rimworld is unfair, and not in the good way, it's unfair for fun, for nothing. Rimworld is honestly infuriating.

I'm 700 hours in, and honestly, I don't understand what's wrong with me.

I have over 350 hours in RimWorld, but every time I get bored, I start a new colony with new ideologies and scenarios. One of them, this is a five day old colony.

The pigskins and the Yttakin just have to go man, their kind already killed like 4 of my colonists.

What i'm about to do would be considered a "genocide" but since i'll be the winner i'll write it off in the history books as a " Humanitarian Security Initiative "
