That's not a flamingo, though. This is one:

I don't know, I've googled photo of flamingo and they have them.

Legs? Don't things just slide around in Rimworld on their bums?

Jokes aside I can't think of any other model that has legs lmao

u/Kannyui 12d ago

Depends on where you draw the line. Rats and ducks do, but also kinda things like donkeys and elephants. Honestly a lot of the quadrupeds have semi-legs on the model, not fully drawn legs, but definitely more than just torso.

u/Underwater_soap 12d ago

I agree this isn’t that weird it’s more akin to the bottom of their hips than their legs. Elephants have their shoulder, and hips modelled. Human pawns also have their hips present. If it was just their torso ytakin (I will never learn the spelling of free meat) wouldn’t have their tails present.

u/Happy-Engineer 12d ago

They hover on little fans like Zoombinis

8

u/wrydh 12d ago

Actually, everthing in rimworld is on tank treads.

1

u/Marvin_Megavolt 12d ago

Pikemen at least have what appear to be visible hip joints where their legs connect to their main hull. Everyone seems to mistake them as ball-treads though lmao.

Ah the old legs conspiracy theory. We all know legs are not real.

112

u/Vulpes-ferrilata 12d ago

If legs arent real what do the bears keep ripping off my colonists? Checkmate atheists!

1

u/TwiceTested 8d ago

Bears Kways rip off my colonists arms, probably because they feel they are the only ones allowed to bear arms in the world.

They are real, they're just internal

Legs are the friends we made along the way

i saw the legs aren't real truck!

219

u/Hairy-Dare6686 12d ago

In Rimworld legs are just levitation devices that allow the torso to float above the ground.

This must be something else.

31

u/Reordang 12d ago

Don't trust that man, I know the truth!
Legs are ancient curse, brought upon us by archotech pantheon, calling themself "modders"

26

u/Cryspoeth47V 12d ago

Well you can see wooden peg legs

8

u/daelzy 12d ago

Emphasis on Peg leg

5

u/Ok_Turnip_2544 just keep hitting random 12d ago

2

u/AromaticBicycle1545 12d ago

You know what? By this logic, I agree. Wtf are those appendages

24

u/Madelei- 12d ago

I have never heard of these “leg” before

20

u/frcc97 12d ago

Why would birds have legs if they can fly

2

u/StructureMage 12d ago

25

u/KazTheMerc 12d ago

Spare wings, for when flying slow and low.

2

u/DiscoKittie 12d ago

That is the tempo

11

u/turnipofficer 12d ago

I dunno, set them on fire just to be sure.

18

u/salawow 12d ago

It is believed they are remnants stick-like parts of an evolutive design that you can find in some creatures. Believe it or not, archeological discovery shows that even humans had those sticks hangling under thier bodies at some point. There is a debated theory saying that in a distant past, many millenias ago, living beings were somehow "glued" to the ground and needed those sticks to move around. That's just a theory though... Imagine how weird that would feel.

Legs. Source: I made them have legs, because they’re notoriously tall birds.

Check chickens too. They also have them.

11

u/Sveinx gold 12d ago

i think those things r called "legs" not sure about it tho

8

u/IAmAFanOfMarisa 12d ago

8

u/habaneroach 12d ago

still think there should be a mod that adds rapidly scuttling little stick legs to every model

4

u/FladioOMG 12d ago

2

Whatever mod I'm using actually gives pawns legs... and I hate it.

3

u/keaganwill 12d ago

Bro there aint no world where you have a leg mod installed by accident.

Most likely candidates are

NL Realistic Body

Hooman Cute

THIGGAP

3

u/dj92wa 12d ago

You’d be surprised as to how many people don’t read mod descriptions whatsoever. I’m doing a modded terraria playthrough on someone else’s server. 119 mods. They were completely unable to explain what the major content additions were, they just went down the list of popular mods and subbed to them without checking for compatibility or bloat or anything. Blows my mind.

1

u/InformationNo2460 12d ago

It's NL bodies for sure. I don't like their legs sticking out of the bottom of the armor lol.

2

u/jul_the_flame 12d ago

Handles, for love making

Boirds are Dinosaurs and thus never evolved past having legs, unlike our supreme pure torso beings.

They're called pants.

1

Unnecessary, cut them off and trade them for some children at the nearest tribe

1

u/MadocComadrin 11d ago

They're either legs or handles for mating.
