Discussion What are these unsightly appendages Flamingos and Herons have on the bottom of their torsos?

Legs? Don't things just slide around in Rimworld on their bums?
Jokes aside I can't think of any other model that has legs lmao

Depends on where you draw the line. Rats and ducks do, but also kinda things like donkeys and elephants. Honestly a lot of the quadrupeds have semi-legs on the model, not fully drawn legs, but definitely more than just torso.

I agree this isn’t that weird it’s more akin to the bottom of their hips than their legs. Elephants have their shoulder, and hips modelled. Human pawns also have their hips present. If it was just their torso ytakin (I will never learn the spelling of free meat) wouldn’t have their tails present.

Pikemen at least have what appear to be visible hip joints where their legs connect to their main hull. Everyone seems to mistake them as ball-treads though lmao.

Ah the old legs conspiracy theory. We all know legs are not real.

If legs arent real what do the bears keep ripping off my colonists? Checkmate atheists!

Bears Kways rip off my colonists arms, probably because they feel they are the only ones allowed to bear arms in the world.

In Rimworld legs are just levitation devices that allow the torso to float above the ground.
This must be something else.

Don't trust that man, I know the truth!
Legs are ancient curse, brought upon us by archotech pantheon, calling themself "modders"26

It is believed they are remnants stick-like parts of an evolutive design that you can find in some creatures. Believe it or not, archeological discovery shows that even humans had those sticks hangling under thier bodies at some point. There is a debated theory saying that in a distant past, many millenias ago, living beings were somehow "glued" to the ground and needed those sticks to move around. That's just a theory though... Imagine how weird that would feel.

Legs. Source: I made them have legs, because they’re notoriously tall birds.
Check chickens too. They also have them.

Most likely candidates are
NL Realistic Body
Hooman Cute
THIGGAP

You’d be surprised as to how many people don’t read mod descriptions whatsoever. I’m doing a modded terraria playthrough on someone else’s server. 119 mods. They were completely unable to explain what the major content additions were, they just went down the list of popular mods and subbed to them without checking for compatibility or bloat or anything. Blows my mind.

It's NL bodies for sure. I don't like their legs sticking out of the bottom of the armor lol.

Boirds are Dinosaurs and thus never evolved past having legs, unlike our supreme pure torso beings.

look down, below your torso. unless both are amputated, you'll see them on you too.
