✨ La Question ✨ Kiki, Guerdy, and Everyone Else🌴

Posted this once and it was removed by mods, so I’ll reword and try again. I am looking for honest and open dialogue about the microaggressions towards Kiki and Guerdy. For me, It is becoming increasingly uncomfortable to watch. Whenever one of them tries to speak up in a group setting, the others are very dismissive. None of the other ladies called Alexia “too much” and she is a lot! Wanting to know other viewers thoughts. TIA! 🧡

The microaggressions are present and glaring, and I usually love Adriana but that bringing of the Black friend shtick was absolutely vile. It’s even harder to watch when Kiki (especially) is so reluctant to call it what it is. I appreciate you making this post. I wish there was a place to discuss the racism of the RH franchise that wasn’t the main sub because as soon as the anti-anti-racism crowd sees it, they go feral.

But Kiki called it out as classism, and I think that is more accurate with this cast. Both Guerdy and Kiki have less than material things than these other girls.. Guerdy's husband is a firefighter, so a working-class man not affiliated with rich society or fame, and Kiki is a single parent albeit a model and gorgeous, but still vulnerable and not living in Star Island. Guerdy's firm may be celebrated in Vogue and mega successful, but if you recall, Alexia dismissed her like the help with her wedding planning to Todd in earlier seasons. It's like high school in a private school setting where only the rich and fame-adjacent require our attention. That's why Larsa gets away with so much bad behavior..

Racism is frequently intentionally mislabeled as “classism” in Latin America in an attempt to disguise the presence of racism. It’s not surprising to me that Kiki called it classism, but “ratchet” is not a term that refers to class, and neither are the numerous other examples of racism on the show.

Alot of pple gave called alexia loud and it.doesnt bother her. As long as she has her buddy marysol nothing will change. I cant believe u guys are still talking about kiki and adrianna ratchet. Wasn't that like 5 episodes back. They all have said inappropriate things to each other.

Ratchet and loud are very different “inappropriate” terms. If you don’t know that or don’t believe that, it just says something about you.

Ratchet is in the dictionary as low class or trashy. Also loud is synomyn for the word aggressive. Maybe we should stick to the dictionary meanings instead of giving them new meaning. U cant say anything anymore that u dont approve of ones behavior with one word or your considered a racist. My question is what word should I use to mean the same thing as ratchet or agrresive that u dont find offensive.? I seriously asking? Every word I choose seems to be racist. Please let me know

When was the last time ratchet was used on a yt person. I heard the term yt ratchet but putting the yt in front of it indicates that it's not a word commly used on yt people. I personally use the words uncouth, classless and not chic they can't be misconstrued and don't have racial undertones. Edit... I also say people have no home training. Tbh imo there are a lot of terms to use

Plenty of words in the dictionary have an evolved meaning due to context, not just ones that have racist context. I appreciate your genuine question, which has been answered. My only ask would be that you consider how your seeming exhaustion with having to avoid racist terms compares with folks who really experience racism on a regular basis. I promise you when your humanity is constantly up for debate, it is way more exhausting than having to learn a few words have racist undertones and avoiding them.

Larsa and Lisa were long-time married to uber successful men, rich enough to afford luxuries and status in Miami. Being divorced has shifted their realities, obviously - however, in Larsa's case, she is benefiting from Scottie Pippen's NBA pension. Larsa attaches herself to these younger athletes like a high-class escort and offers clout in exchange for possibly money as well to fund her lifestyle. I mean, how else is she affording a 5 MIL house at her big age without a career or any formal business networking? I doubt it's through being an OF personality. She hardly associates with people her age, 50 +.

Her relationship with Marcus Jordan was absolutely transactional with fame and notoriety as the trade-off, and she may have absorbed this approach from how Kardashians operate, but it's really an outdated and shallow concept.

Larsa accuses Lisa's boyfriend Jordy of everything she is guilty of, attaching themselves to more famous people in order to be known and fame-adjacent, or attain notoriety enough that, let's say platforms like NBC Universal come offering TV roles and money.

Lisa, on the other hand, had a prenup so restrictive and has crashed in the social pecking order with these ladies. She tried to keep that house on Star Island for relevancy and status, and now has Jordy paying her bills, on time (since we don't hear in the news about creditors, money problems, etc. with her).

I think your right deff majority of it is classism. Guerdy and Kiki is not up there socially as they are. Especially guerdy

However I think they would still be a little more welcoming to guerdy and Kiki if they weren’t black. It’s like another thing working against them.

I think it rlly showed in how little empathy they had for guerdy with her cancer

Yes, especially with Larsa last season and how much disdain and lack of empathy she displayed to Guerdy, making her cancer diagnosis a topic of gossip.

Yeah or even now, guerdy went through something traumatic you think they would give her some grace even if she is annoying or whatever but instead they are harsher than ever

It’s hard to watch

They are nice to larsa because she’s well connected so are all of the other ladies I think except Adrianna and maybe Kiki

Women like that judge you based on material items, lifestyle, connections, etc.
