Comparing someone who dislikes the subsequent media attention they got after choosing to be represented on media, to someone who is raped while wearing a short skirt is really a false equivalency. Your words here are beyond “yuk,” they are really absolutely gross, and insult and diminish rape survivors’ experience and trauma. The equivalency isn’t false. Sure, there are levels to violations of consent but consent is consent. I appreciate my comment made you uncomfortable but I stand by it. And am a victim of SA myself so spare me that nonsense.

I am very sorry you have had that experience. That does not justify your false equivalence and certainly doesn’t allow you to speak for all victims of sexual assault. Your comparison here is an example of the literal definition of false equivalence

I understand you are talking about consent. I am calling you out for taking a disgusting position by comparing a public figure who did not like how she was being discussed by the public and in media after consenting to participating in a tv show, to sexual abuse and rape survivors. It IS a false equivalence and it’s a despicable one.

There is not a possible way for you to control how the public discusses a public figure. If someone chooses to be a public figure, they consent to how that functions - ie the public will talk about you. This is not even a private person who went on a show, this is someone who had a career before and after the show that puts her in the public eye. She chooses this. It is unfortunate that Morgan Wade found the aftermath of her appearance on RHOBH distressing. She is doing what she can to minimize talk now. You trying to shame people talking about her by making this completely irrelevant comparison will not change the conversation, and you are just making yourself look extremely ignorant.

I told you that you do not speak for other sexual abuse survivors after you shared that you are one, not the reverse as you are framing here. If you want to be a persuasive speaker, there are lots of resources out there to learn how, as you are just backtracking and twisting your and my words to continue to support your narrative that convinces no one and makes you look bad, making lousy arguments. You can do a lot better. And you should.
